  • I just synced my iPhone and lost all the info in notes from my phone. It was replaced with whT was on my iMac how do you make the sync go from phone to desktop and not the other way around

I Just synced my iPhone and lost all the info in notes I had on the phone. How do you have the info sync from phone to desktop and not the other way around as I usually make contact changes etc on my phone. I would then like to be able to sync that info from desktop to ipad thanks

It does make sense.  The iPhone is a one-person device and just syncs to one computer.
The way it should work is as follows:
Old computer content ---> New computer
New computer <---> syncs to iPhone
But the way you are trying to operate sounds like:
    Old computer content ---> iPhone
    ... and ...
    New computer content <---> iPhone
So simply move your old stuff (either directly from iTunes, or from a computer backup) to the new computer, have it all there, then sync your iPhone to the new machine.

  • Updated to iOS 5.1.1 and lost all contacts, messages, and photos specific to this iPhone.  Is there anything to retrieve the lost info?

if you don't have a backup on iclouds or itunes that you can restore to, then all is gone.  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766

  • I erased everything on my iphone and lost all my contacts pictures and everything how do i get all that back from my itunes account??

I erased everything on my iphone and lost all my contacts pictures and everything else how do i get the contacts and pictures back from my itunes account?? ive tried restore its like it gave me a whole new iphone thing.

If you plug in the iPhone to your computer, any contacts ect that you synced with your computer with sync back with the iPhone when it is selected in the iTunes menu under info. Anything that was added without syncing was lost, I'm sorry. A good future solution is to get iOS 5 when it comes out this fall, so you don't need to manually sync contacts, its automatic!

  • HT4901 By synching our computer and tablet together with our new iphone, we lost all our critical calendar data. How do we get it back?

By synching our computer and tablet together with our new iphone, we lost all our critical calendar data. How do we get it back? The help info, HT4901, was the closest info from the Help pages but it assumed we were already on icloud and had simply disconnected our calendar from icloud. Actually, we were simply trying to synch our devices by signing up with icloud for the first time, so it seems our calendar never had a chance to get uploaded. In any case, how do you reconnect / re-access a calendar on icloud?

If your calendar does not appear on icloud.com it never uploaded to iCloud.  If it is no longer on your computer you would have to restore it from a backup source such as Time Machine to restore it.

  • What to do IF iPhone is lost?

Keyword: IF. I still have my iPhone, this is all hypothetical.
I understand that there is no way to track an iPhone if it is lost, and that whoever finds it may easily swap SIM cards and reactivate.
My worries are about the info I have on my iPhone. Unless I leave the passcode on all the time (which is kind of a pain), I am worried about whoever finds it looking through my contacts, notes, emails, etc.. Call me paranoid but I don't want a stranger having access to my calendar and potentially knowing where I'm going to be every day for the next couple of months.
If I call AT&T and suspend service, I assume that whatever is already saved on the phone can still be accessed... but when someone tries to re-activate using a new SIM, does it wipe the iPhone memory clean?

If you use the passcode lock feature and enable the erase data option after 10 failed passcode attempts, and you don't use something easy to guess for your passcode such as 0000 or 1234, someone would have to be very good or very lucky to guess your 4 digit passcode within 10 attempts.
I venture to say the majority of low-lifes who would still your iPhone would not interested in any data on your iPhone. They are interested in getting something for nothing which they can activate themselves, and the only way to do that with a passcode locked iPhone without being able to guess the passcode within 10 attempts would be a restore with iTunes as a new iPhone - which would erase all data on the iPhone first. Or they are interested in selling the iPhone to someone else and then the same would apply to whoever purchased the iPhone.
The iPhone is a hot item so a good idea to keep close tabs on it. If someone really wants to steal something - from something inside your vehicle, in your house, or within a locker at school, etc., where there is a will, there is a way, but we should make it as difficult as possible. This is why we lock our vehicles, lock our house when we are away, keep a lock on a locker, and iPhone owners should use the iPhone's passcode lock feature and enable the erase data option after 10 failed passcode attempts. Is the iPhone's passcode lock feature foolproof? No, but better to not make the process of accessing any data on your iPhone an easy process. I don't keep any personal info on my iPhone that would be a major issue for me in the event my iPhone was lost or stolen even though I use the Passcode Lock feature (in effect after one minute of inactivity) with the erase data option enabled.

  • Lost info in notes, how to restore

Lost info in notes, how to retrieve? Phone has not bee n backedup

Yes, firstly you can restore notes from the backup.
iOS: How to back up and restore your content
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
If that is not work, a third party software named iPhone data recovery software can recover deleted notes.

    You should pay for it:)
Next time, please remember to backup your iPhone with iTunes.
    Good luck.

My iPhone 4 lost all of my contact numbers this morning. Any ideas why or suggestions on recovering them?

you only want to sync from 1 or the other. not both. i recommend sticking with one backup area. in your info section of itunes, make sure that you are not selecting to replace the data on the device.

  • My iphone has lost connection to the server; I cannot get e-mails.

My iphone has lost connection to the server; I cannot get e-mails. What can I do to fix that?

I recently put on a PowerPoint presentation at DU, in Denver Colorado; signed on as DU guest to access Internet link.  SInce then I haven't been able to get e-mail on my Iphone - Cannot Get Mail, Server Stopped Responding.  I tried all previous suggestions, such as rebooting phone, updating software etc.  I went to MacBook Pro and tried logging on to yahoo e-mail.  Apparently there was a security risk to my e-mail account so Yahoo locked up my account.  I reset my password, it was verified through text message, and Voila it worked.  Don't forget you also have to change this on your Iphone: go into settings; Mail, Contacts, Calendars; click on your e-mail browser, then account and enter your new password, click done and it will verify on you phone as well.  Hope this helps!!!

  • IPhone 5S lost voicemail and when I tap vm icon the phone diales voicemail and gets busy signal.  No other options show.

iPhone 5S lost voice mail and when I tap vm icon the phone dials voice mail and gets busy signal.  No other options show.
started yesterday.  No voice mail at all.  When I tap the voice mail icon the phone immediately dials some number and that number rings busy.  I can't select anything else.   Using Virgin mobile/  I am stumped.
I have already tried a soft boot... power and home button....
    Help!

Other than changing the SIM card, you don't mention any troubleshooting you did with your phone.
If you haven't already, try the following steps as needed:
Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Setting.
Reset phone - press both home and sleep/wake buttons until the Apple logo appears.
Restore phone in iTunes using a backup
Restore in iTunes as a new iPhone
IF the last step doesn't fix it, there is a hardware problem and you should make an appt. with an Apple Store Genius Bar. The fact that you haven't dropped the phone by no means rules out hardware issues.

  • HT201269 I thought I had a problem after my iPhone suddenly lost an app, I restored from a back up and am now missing some apps. They appear on my I tunes page and say 'open' in the app store, but aren't on the phone. Help,

I was using my iPhone and 'lost' an app. I restored my phone from an earlier backup, but now can't see some of my apps. They are shown as being on the phone in both iTunes and the app store, but clearly aren't on the phone.
    Where have I gone wrong.

  • Syncing photos via iTunes - getting new error message" "the iphone could not be synced because the connection to iphone was lost"

I am trying to sync photos in a dedicated file on my desktop with the photo library on my iPhone 4S.  Something I have done many times before.
Since upgrading to iTunes 11 I get this message "the iphone could not be synced because the connection to iphone was lost" midway through the sync.  I do not understand this as I am syncing via the USB lead, so how can the connection be lost?
Bascially I just want to update the photos on my iPhone with new photos I have added to the file I use on my computer.
Any help or ideas would be gratefully received.  Thanks.
