HT1414 iphone 5 not restoring
I went to update my apple software, plugged into itunes ,which is up to date, and the phone has now said it needs to restore first.
Problem is it won't. unknown error 3014.
How do I resolve this?

Hello everyone, I am trying to restore my iPhone 4s and every time I try restoring it, it always goes to about 75% of the process then it says the iphone could not restore because of error 1. This error generally indicates a hardware failure. Bring the phone to Apple for evaluation.

thanksI would like to know if there is a better to fix this since this iphone has been jailbroken. Google search only shows stuff that talks about installing software that has to do with jailbreaking. I just need to restore back to normal. Thank you!

I was trying to update iphone 4 with new iOS 7 and all of a suddent the phone is stuck in restoration mode and while trying to update with new iOS, it give an error message that reads like "iphone could not restored. An unknown error occured (16)" in itune page. I am not able to figure out what is causing it and how could it be resolve? please help with the probable options.
If you read the error messages in the support document that you linked from, you can see that error 16 can be traced to either a USB error, or a hardware error. I would try the recommendations under those sections in the support document and see if you can take care of it. Otherwise, I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar at Apple to have the hardware checked.

Restore it to factory settings, then set it up from your back up. Did this last year when I got my new iPod, and it worked. I have no idea why syncing OTA can sometimes glitch, but hopefully this will help.

You have to delete the corrupt back-up so iTunes can at least back-up the current data on the iPhone and then restore it. Search these forums, there a several good posts on how to delete the corrupt back-up.
