I keepy trying to reset it, but nothing is working! I can't sync it with my iTunes because it is locked and say "iPod is disabled Please connect to  iTunes" What do I do!!?!?!

Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

For how to restore:
iTunes: Restoring iOS software
To restore from backup see:
iOS: How to back up
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

    If necessary:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • IPod won't restore. help please?

I just reinstalled iTunes a week ago, because my iPod has the message "Connect to your computer. Use iTunes to restore." So I reinstalled it, and I plugged my iPod into the computer. iTunes pops up, I click the restore button, and it says it's restoring it. I leave it alone, and an hour later nothing on the computer screen says it's done, and my iPod still has that message when I (safely) unplug it from the computer. I have done this several times with the same results. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Please help!

This is my son's iPod and he is lost without it... Any help or suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Thank you for your reply!!! As you can tell from my slow reply I didn't think I was going to get a response to my question.
I have tried all the options in the support article - http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1372 without success.
Are their any diagnostic tools (beyond the documented "hidden commands" tools written up here - http://www.command-tab.com/2006/03/30/hidden-ipod-commands/) that I can use to further trouble shoot this problem? OR Has this iPod become a "paper weight" as my son is now describing it.
Appreciate any help I can get... THANKS!!!

  • I want to Save Photo from Corrupt iPod before a Restore - Help!

I use my iPod to store photos from my camera when I travel. I just got back from Peru with 13 photo library imports. Sat down to move the files into iPhoto. When I plugged into my Mac, iTunes opened and I quickly unplugged the iPod (BIG mistake). Now when I connect the iPod, iTunes opens and says the iPod is corrupt and needs to be restored. The "Do not discconect" logo blinks without resolution. HELP!
I can see the import library when I go to Photos/Photo Import menu so they appear to still be on the iPod. I just cannot get it to connect now with the Mac.
Will the restore erase the photos? The warning message says it will erase the music and data files (does that mean music data files, or all photo files too?).
Is there a way to grab the photo import files from my iPod before I do a restore?
How do I rescue these pictures??????

The suggested software is designed to offload iPod pictures and requires the ability to converse with iTunes. What I have are still camera pictures in waiting for offload to iPhoto and then an upload to the iPod as pictures.
My iPod is not recognized by iTunes and just blinks with the do not disconnect icon when plugged into the computer. So any software that requires an interface with iTunes won't work. I need something that will bypass the corrupted interface and let me offload the photo import library files before I do a restore.
What is the workaround idea? I am open to anything that will help me get the files off of my iPod before I do a restore. Thanks!

Unless you use a third-party program, The iPod will show up in My Computer but you can only access the DCIM folder which contains photos taken by or saved to the iPod.
Third-party programs are PhoneView, iExplorer  and TouchCopy as well as others.

  • ITunes doesn't recognise iPod after restore: help please?

I've just restored, done the connect to power instead of pc (windows based), is reconnected to usb 2 port, but iTunes isn't showing any screen to resetup my iPod, and iPod saying "do not disconnect". What now? Could it be automatically updating without showing in iTunes? This all came about when I tried to do an update of software, which after download & updating pc, only showed "restore" in the iPod updater window.

    Error 2000-2009 (2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2009, and so on)
If you experience this issue on a Mac, disconnect third-party devices, hubs, spare cables, displays, reset the SMC, and then try to restore. If you are using a Windows computer, remove all USB devices and spare cables other than your keyboard, mouse, and the device, restart the computer, and try to restore. If that does not resolve the issue, try the USB issue-resolution steps and articles listed for Error 1604 above. If the issue persists, it may be related toconflicting security software. If the errors persist on another computer and known-good USB cable, the device may need service.
The "device may need service" means a hardware problem. In that case make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • IPod doesn't sync with iTunes anymore!! HELP!!

I am in complete despair - my iPod doesn't sync with iTunes anymore. It all started a couple of days ago, after installing the latest updates of both, iTunes and iPod. After that, I noticed that the iPod wasn't synching the changes and new additions I had made in iTunes.
I tried everything so far with no success. I did reset the iPOd, reinstalled the iPod updater, than did a RESTORE and now my iPod is completely empty, but refuses to download my music from iTunes.
When connected, it shows up, start "updating iPod" and several seconds later shows "update complete". In the iPod window I can all the songs (in grey) from my library, but they are not being transferred to my iPod!!!
    Please, help!!

I think I know the problem and it's solution. The iPod "thinks" it's linked to a different library and therefore does not synchronize. No idea what happens in the background there, but here is what I did:
First, I went back to the previous update on the iPod (not sure if that's necessary at all, but I just wanted to go to where I started from.
The UNinstalled iTunes (to be safe I backed up my tunes) and reinstalled it. Then pasted backed up tunes into new iTunes music folder and overwrote newly created iTunes library files.
Then I connected the iPod, which now told me that I had an old version and needed to update, which I did.
Then a window popped up and told me that my iPod was connected to a different library and if I want to connect to this one, overwriting everything on the iPod, which I said yes to (it didn't matter anyway, since it was now empty after the RESTORE I had done).
iPod then downloaded all the songs from my library again and we are as happy together as we've been before
I think what happened was that after installing the latest update, that window with the "different library connection" had popped up as well and I must have clicked NO because of the "overwrite" comment which scared me. Unfortunately, even with "reset warnings" it then never popped up again and until I reinstalled iTunes.
    Hope this helps!

  • My new iPod touch 5 doesn't restore, it's stuck on recovery mode.

I connected the ipod to my computer, just to charge it up, and i left the computer alone. I think the itunes was set to actualize it alone to the ios 6.1, but when i came back to get my ipod, it said that there was an error and the ipod couldn't actualize, after that it's stuck on recovery mode. I connected it to the iTunes as the ipod says, and on the resume says the software is actualized but it's stuck on recovery mode, when i try to restore it, the software downloads, but after it's downloaded, it doesn't restore the ipod and it's still the same. Help me, it's been this way for a week, and I'm tired of keep trying with the itunes I will really appreciate the help, thanks.

    Maybe:
Restore loop (being prompted to restore again after a restore successfully completes)
Troubleshoot your USB connection. If the issue persists, out-of-date or incorrectly configured third-party security software may be causing this issue. Please follow Troubleshooting security software issues. .
Next try placing in DFU mode and then restoring.

Then try restoring on another computer.
