HT1414 My iPad 2 screen frozen!

It remains frozen as black with white apple in the middle. Can't power off and it won't go to "home" screen. I had just removed a bunch of apps to make more free space and figured I'd turn it off and re-start it. I tried restarting by holding down home and power buttons, which refreshed the white apple, but it still remains frozen. Anyone ever had this happen? Need help!

If rebooting the iPad by holding down on the home and sleep buttons did not work, you may need to restore the device with iTunes now using recovery mode.
Read his for more about recovery mode.

Before you try restoring, are you sure that you performed the reboot correctly? You held the buttons until the Apple Logo appeared on the screen and then you let go of the two buttons?

  • HT1414 my ipad air is frozen with the i tunes logo and a black screen it does not turn on or off with the red bar

my i pad air is frozen because it has a black screen with just the I tunes icon but you can't turn it on or off or do anything please can you help

I'm sorry. I missed your response earlier today.
You will need to use recovery mode. You can start iTunes on your computer first. Then you plug the cable into the computer, hold down the home button on the iPad and plug the cable into the iPad.
    Use recovery mode
Recovery mode erases your device and restores it, which should resolve the issue. If you previously synced with iTunes or iCloud, you may be able to restore from your backup after recovery.
Turn off your device. If you can't turn it off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time and wait a few seconds for it to turn off.
Plug the device's USB cable into your computer only.
Hold down the device's Home button as you connect the USB cable to it.
When you see the Connect to iTunes screen, release the Home button. If you don't see this screen, try steps 1 through 3 one more time.
iTunes should open and display a message such as: "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes."
Use iTunes to restore your device.

  • HT1414 my ipad 3 is frozen on the itunes logo

My Ipad 3g Cellular is frozen on the apple logo, i have tried restoring but it has not helped
    Can anyone help me

    1. Try a reset, hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 second until you see the Apple logo.
    2. If the reset doesn't work, try and force the iPad into Recovery Mode
    A. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
    B. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
    C. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
    D. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: Data will be lost. You may have to repeat the above many times.

  • My IPad Air is frozen with a white screen and Apple Logo on it.

My Ipad Air is frozen with the white screen and apple logo.  I've tried resetting it several times and that doesn't help.  I tried connecting to ITunes, but it isn't recognizing the device.
The battery is fully charged, at least for now, so I am not sure what else to try.

    FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
    1. Turn off iPad
    2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
    3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
    4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
    5. Release Home button.
    ON COMPUTER
    6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
    7. Select "Restore iPad"...
    Note:
    1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
    2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY.
    3. Repeat the process if necessary.

  • My ipad 2 screen is frozen / locked in vertical position how do I fix that?

My ipad 2 screen is locked into vertical position and I have tried shutting it off and checking the lock rotation nothing so far has worked. It does have a lock at the top of screen. Help!!!

Double tap the home button and swipe all the way the right in the task bar at the bottom - see if the lock icon is in the far left corner of the task bar. If so - tap it to unlock the rotation.
Or check the side side switch above the volume control on the right side of the iPad.
