HT1414 My new 5s is just stuck at step 1of 7 ( waiting for sync to start after it initially synced). what to do?
How do I get it to stop trying to start syncing after it originally did? Why is it doing this?

hopefully you have a backup to either icloud or itunes because you need to but the device into recovery and then restore

I was using an 3GS which was SYNC thru the iTunes thru my PC .. But I started using my new 4S and tried to plug in to my PC for SYNC and the New 4S is not identified by iTunes . It says "the iPhone cud not connect to iTunes for unknown reasons... Can anyone Pls help me on this as I have no way of SYNC my Contacts from the PC Out look ..
i just now logged in the icloud from browser, there when you go to contacts, you will see a settings icon to the bottom left of the screen. it does give option to export and import vCards.. i did not see outlook option though. i dont remember how i did it last time exactly.. outlook does create vcards, right?

I have heard rumours of an 8.1 update for developers. I just found another bug in 10.9.5. I am beginning to think that nobody should touch any update from Apple until they can get their very serious Q/A problems sorted out. This is getting bad.

IPhone 5 stuck at step 7 - won't complete sync
All of a sudden, my ring tones are gone. I rebooted my phone, plugged it into my Macbook Pro (all updates are completed). Quit out of iTunes and re-opened it. Tried to syc ring tones, and phone. But iTunes gets stuck at step 7. It spins for HOURS until I get frustrated and unplug it. I have over 5GB still available.
This is SO frustrating!
I've seen that lots of people have this problem, but haven't found any solution. Hope you have one before I throw both of them out the window and buy a PC! (just kidding)
MANYthanks-This whole thing is an absolute nightmare! My ipod (touch-5) hasn't updated properly in months. Finally went to the Apple store and was told this is a very common problem. The tech person helping me said she really struggles trying to get her iphone 6 to update itunes. She said the only thing that works for her is to uninstall itunes. I did that. Took hours. Then spent a few hours making sure everything in the itunes library was perfect for syncing and added the new things I wanted to sync. I figured I'd only get one good sync out of this process. FAILED! Hung for hours at Step 7 of 7 ('waiting for changes to be applied) AND, as always, no changes were applied.
Tech said they keep letting Apple know they need to fix itunes, but nothing happens. So very frustrated. And, so much money wasted on an expensive ipod (won't have an iphone ever again).
What's better for listening to podcasts and music? -

I have spent a week on this. Since last itunes update, 11.2.2, I am only able to do an itunes match intermittently on both my Mac, and my PC. Prior, I have had no real issues since Apple started itunes Match.
I have blown out my library, started over, redownloaded everthing from itunes Match and had that sync. And then when I wanted to add additional music from that point, all subsequent matches get either stuck in Step 2 with some version of "matching 15654 of 15658 songs checked" on the latest. I first tried it with my Mac multiple times, and then tried it with my PC with the same results. I have tried sudo purge, booting in safe mode, logging in, out, in, out, etc., updating Genius, and changing operating systems. If I could go back one version of itunes, I would do it. I suspect it is an update issue.
I would appreciate any input. I have wasted far too much time on this function that I am paying.

BSD25This should fix it (hopefully you'll only have to do steps 1 and 2). FYI: 3231 is a general error code that doesn't indicate anything specific, but it could be caused by connection issues.
1. If you are using wireless networking, try connecting directly to your modem with a cable. Connections to the iTunes servers are a bit on the sensitive side and the occasional glitch can throw off matching if it has a lot of work to do. I have a "perfect" setup so I initially dismissed that as a solution (or part of one), but it does make a difference. Once it's working correctly you can switch back to a wireless connection and it should be fine from there.
2. In iTunes, hold down the Option key (or the Shift key if you're using Windows) while you click Store, Turn Off iTunes Match. Hold down the same key again and close iTunes. Since there may be some things cached, restart your computer. Open iTunes and Turn On iTunes Match again.
3. If Match does not complete, try a couple more times just to be sure. Note that Match completing doesn't mean everything is done - some changes trickle back over time, but it should report success.
4. If you still have problems, you can do a complete reset by contacting Apple's iTunes Store team and ask them to cancel your Match subscription and refund it so that you can purchase and start Match again from scratch. Wait until your iTunes account shows the credit before doing this (just to be sure the entire cancellation process on the Apple side has completed). -
I recently upgraded to to the iOS 5 on my iMac and iPad. Now when i sync my iPad it get stuck on step 8 with a prompt that says "waiting to copy items" it stays on like that for hours. When I eventually do disconnect my iPad it says sync is not complete. Now, some of my album artwork is not copied into my iPad but on iTunes in my iMac desktop everything is still there. Pulling my hair out with this one. Please help!

Reset your iPad.
Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home button down at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

You don't need to manually sync using iOS 5.

What a frustrating experience I have had trying to get away from This phone and Plan. I just want to down grade this phone. What difference does it make to you here? All VZW will do is re certify the phone and give it to someone else. I just would like to down grade to a cheaper phone and do away with android os. I still have the same issues with the phone as I did with my other one within a hour of re activating it. I should have no issues with the os it is flawed and should not happen. I am sorry to say but The blackberry OS is a lot more stable. There may not be as many apps but it is more productive and being able to multi task is a lot more needed on a phone. I was told yesterday I would get a call back today at 7pm when this tech support lady would start her shift to give me my options and she did not call. Making me call at 930pm today and after talking to someone I waited for 45 minuets to be hung up on. That is a real great way to treat a customer and make things better. I just want away from the Andriod OS. What difference does it make to you as a company to make a customer happy who was with you since 08 and having a second device added on to the account? What Poor way to treat someone to make them happy with all the profits you have and can't give anything back to a customer.
