HT1414 New iphone and new number - how do I transfer my apps
I am getting a new iphone (5s) and number, and want to try and keep my apps, and chat history from my current phone (5).
What is the best way of doing this? I have backed my phone on i cloud and also on i tunes.
Any advice would be appreciated!
Restore the new device from a backup of the old one. Apps are based on your Apple ID, so don't change that too, like you did the phone number. The phone number change will not affect the backup, you just connect the phone to activate and select use backup from the old phone.

New phone AND operating system - how do I transfer my apps?
I'm going from having an iMac with 10.4.11 to a MacBook Pro with 10.6.4 - and I've upgraded my iPhone 3G with a 4.
I cannot sync my new phone with the old computer (where all the apps, my calendar) due to the old operating system.
I have managed to transfer my music, photos, calendar & contacts - now how do I get all my apps over there, too? (purchased & otherwise ....)
I found the app folder under User-Music-iTunes-MobileApplications on the old computer and tried copying onto my new computer, but maybe I'm not putting it in the right place - and those are only some of my apps - is there an easier way?You can transfer them from the old iphone. You can use migration assistant to move everything over.
You can copy the entire itunes folder across.

I got the new iPhone 5C. In my cellular settings, under "Use cellular data for", it only show passbook and facetime. How can I add other apps? Also, my carrier is AT&T

You should be able to see two different tabs when setting up the email if you go to Other > Add Mail Account. Once you enter in the email address and password, you should be at the next screen to provide more details about the email as far as incoming and outgoing servers and at the top there will be a blue section to add it in as a POP or IMAP email account. i changed my number along with my sim card and imessage will not recognize my new number. how can i have imessage forget my old number and use my new number?
i have tried signing out of imessage and signing back in. (when i do that and am asked to select my email adress, i see my new number but it is greyed out and i cant select it)But under send and receive, my old number is still displayed while my new number isn't.

I just bought a new computer and I installed the latest version of iTunes on it (iTunes 11). But now I don't know how I can transfer my apps from my iTunes into my new iTunes library. I don't want to download them all again in the iTunes Store while they are installed on my iPhone!
Any solutions would be great!Connect the device to your PC and launch iTunes. Press Ctrl+S to show the Sidebar. Find your device name in the Sidebar and right-click then select Transfer Purchases.

I have authorized my Computer, but when I connect the ipod, it only comes up with the message box "Erase and sync.", I don't get the option to transfer my music and apps onto the Computer.
