Nothing we can do to help you if you can't remember your password. There's no way around this. If you can't remember your password, you can't use the backup. Pure and simple.

Last night I updaite my 3GS to iOS 5 and as you know I lose all my data information such as my photo video an the most important contact list . I had back up of that information in my last iTunes 10.5 but it says me "ENTER THE PASSWORD FOR UNLOCK THE iPHONE'' . I don't know what pasword it want . Can someone help me ? I seriously I need my data .

Ragazzi, io ho avuto lo stesso problema ieri sera. Dopo svariati tentativi, leggedo su di un altro post simile sempre in questa comunità. La password richiesta non è altro che la password di accesso del vostro pc. Lasciate perdere quella user dell'id apple ecc io ho fatto mille tentativi. Appena immessa la password della macchina il ripristino è partito correttamente ed ora il mio iphone 4 funziona di nuovo!
Guis i had the some problem last night. After some try i read a similar post alwais in that comunity. The request password is the same of your laptop or pc. dont'try the password of your id Apple account or other i have tried a thousand time but nothing! just write the pc password the restore, it's correctly start, and now my Iphone 4 it's ready for use! sorry for my english!

If you don't have your install disc handy, then follow these steps
1. Start up in single-user mode (hold Command-S as the computer starts up).
2. Type: mount -uw /
3. Press Return.
4. Type this:
passwd (user's short name)
Replace "(user's short name)" with the short name of the user account whose password you wish to reset. If you are not sure what the account name is, you can get a list of user names by typing: ls /Users
5. Press Return.
6. Enter a new user password.
7. Press Return.
8. Type: reboot
9. Press Return.

If he's forgotten the passcode then he will need to connect the iPad to the computer that he normally syncs to and he should then be able to reset the iPad and re-sync his content to it (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212) - he may need to put the iPad into recovery mode : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808

If you have a rescue email address on that account then you've checked the inbox and spam folder on that email account as well (and you can't get the password reset by answering your security questions on http://iforgot.apple.com) ? If you still can't find then try contacting Support in your country, they should be able to reset the password for you.

Then I send it to the suppler where purchased this phone they told me there is no way to fix this unless I give them the Id and password .know I don’t know where I can go because in my Location nobody know how to fix this problem.

If you can't remember your apple id or password then sadly that phone has been bricked, without that infomation te activation lock cannot be removed by apple or anyone else.

How do I make the App Store forget the password?

My son has an iPod Touch, and I let him download games, but he doesn't have my account password. He has to show me the game he wants and then I'll put in my password to let it download.
Problem is, there have been some other things showing up on my iTunes Store receipts that I don't recall approving. The App Store on the iPod seems to remember the password for a while, but I haven't figured out what conditions cause it to forget.
I'd like to make sure that his iPod forgets the password after a download, so that he can't go off to his room and download something else that I didn't approve. How can I do that?

Their iPods don't have that setting. Looks like it's a 3.0 thing. I've upgraded my iPod to 3.0, but not theirs... will I have to pay again for each of their iPods if I wanted to upgrade?

Apps and Music are not from iCloud. Are from iTunes and App Store.
You can change this from: Settings>iTunes and App Stores>Sign out and sign in with new ID, but you will have to pay again to download apps that you already have in your old account. Or leave it as it is to share purchases with your son.

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.
