HT1414 what happens when child sets a lock and your iPad becomes disabled because we don't know passcode

What do you do when your child enters a pass code and forgets it therefore leaving the message "iPad is disabled connect to iTunes?"

Recovery Mode
1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: Data will be lost. You may have to repeat the above many times.

    You can try contacting iTunes support and see if they will grant you a re-download of them : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

    If you are talking about activation lock you are out of luck. Without that information you cannot activate the device and have just lost your money. Unless you can find the person and get your money back.

    The timing of a Commit doesn't depend on the size of transaction.

         cost, cardinality, rows, etc...Oracle documentation should help you, just google for that. You should also visit 'asktom.oracle.com' for the topic. I'm going through a book 'Troubleshooting Oracle Performance' written by Christian Antognini and I feel it contains very good explanation on such topics.

    Try this first - I saw a recent post where a user with the same problem after an iOS update used his Apple ID password.
    Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased.

    Saw this solution on another post about an iPad in a school environment. Might work on your iPad so you won't lose everything.

    ‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
    Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
    I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
    Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
    If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.
     Cheers, Tom
  • What happens when I erase all content and settings?
    I gave my son my iPhone 4.  We just put his sim card in and it started working and  I told him to change the apple id to his.  However, this morning, he said that he still gets my iMessages.  So we did an erase all content and settings.  Now the phone doesn't work.  What do we do?
    When you erase all contents and settings - it wipes the phone clean.
    If your son gets your imessage, on his phone go to settings - message - send&receive - uncheck or remove your apple id.
  • What happens when I set attenuation values in 5660 vis
    Hello,
    I am using the 5660 vis and I noticed that you can use auto attenuation or you can set your own attenuation values.  When I disable auto attenuation and try to set my own values I never see a difference in my SA display.  Is this correct behavior?
    Thanks!
    Hello ness4,
    The Auto mode sets the mixer level for you.
    For all reference levels > -20dB, the mixer level gets
    set to -20dBm.
    For all reference levels <=-20dB, the mixer level is
    equal to the reference level.
    Basically, for reference levels >-20dB, the attenuation
    can be calculated using the formula in the attached screenshot.
    For reference levels <=-20dB, the attenuation is set to
    0.
  • HT201263 I got a iPod that says disabled connect to iTunes when I tried it says it's locked and I must enter password t I don't know it, I bought it as is
    How do I reset it? I don't have any access to any previous information on it.
    Disabled
    Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
    If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
    You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
  • HT1212 What happens if you forget the password of your iPad and done it wrong so many times then it said connect to itunes and you have never synced your iPad to any laptop and the only way is to erase the device can you import pictures before erasing
    Hi I'm Zeina Halim. I have an iPad 4 and I forgot its password. So I kept trying over and over again till it said iPad is disabled connect to iTunes. One problem I've never synced my iPad and apple is telling me the only way to reset the password is to erase all data from the iPad. So I'm asking is there another solution or can I atleast import the photos on some device before I erase it. Pls answer fast because I REALLY need to use it. Thank you
  • Lost my iPod, remotely locked it through iCloud. What happens when the battery goes out?
    Hello!
    I lost my Ipod, but managed to locate and lock it remotely through Find my iPod and iCloud. It was located once, but hasn't been located again in the last four days. I think the battery may have run out. What happens when the battery is charged and the iPod turned back on? Does the lock and everything else that can be controlled with Find my iPod still apply?
    Thank you!
    Yes, because when you remotely lock the iPod via Find my iPod, the lock code is set as the lock code that you would use to unlock the iPod if you used a passcode normally. As long as the iPod is still connected to your Apple ID, Find my iPod should work as log as the iPod is connected to wifi.
  • HT1414 My iPad is disabled because I couldn't remember the password.  I can't restore it because I have to turn off "Find My Phone" first.  Since it is disabled, I can't do that either.
    My iPad is disabled because I can't remember the password.  I cannot restore it because in order to do that, I need to turn off "Find My iPad."  I cannot turn that off because the iPad is disabled.  I don't know what to do.
    I had this problem. One day I went to use my iPad and it said disabled... I went to itunes to restore it and I got the same message you got to turn off Find My iPad but couldn't because I something was wrong with my password. My iPad only uses Wifi and I noticed it wasn't connected to my wifi (yet, I'm at home) so I couldn't go to iCloud and wipe it. I did find this to be helpful and now I'm back and running:
    Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
    Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to shut down.
    While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
    Continue holding the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
    iTunes will alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then restore the device.
  • What happens when I restore data to a non-factory set iPhone?
    Okay, another iCloud question. What I did was basically delete a game, start a new one, and now I want my old game back (saved to ICloud). What happens when I restore full data to a non-factory set iPhone? Will it overwrite current data? Will it delete everything? I just want to know, I'm such an iOS noob. :-/
    A restore is all or nothing.
    If a backup is restored to the device, ALL data currently on the device is wiped and replaced with the data from the backup.
    Restoring a backup to get one saved game back seems rather extreme and silly.
