HT1420 can i authorize more than 5 devices

I have 3 kids with a computer and a total of 6 devices, can i authorize all of them for home sharing? even at an additional cost

Authorising only applies to computers, iOS devices (iPad, iPhones, iPod Touches) don't count - you can't increase the number of computers that can be authorised.

  • HT1420 Can I authorize more than 5 devices on my itunes account?

Is there a way to add more than 5 devices to your itunes account?  In this day and age where a single person can have multiple, in my case 7 devices, I would like to authorize all my devices to my iTunes account because of iTunes Match.

As King_Penguin stated this does not include iOS devices, that is unless you are referring to devices associated with iTunes Match (10 devices, including iOS devices).
It is likely that the other devices were old computers that never got deauthorized.
Apple offers a Deauthorize All option for this very reason. It's use is limited to once per 12 month period.
See the Deauthorize all computers section of this article:
Authorize or deauthorize your Mac or PC
After they are all deauthorized, go back and reauthorize each computer you are currently using.

I think you are using the same Composition Class on both project. On the properties tab, you can change this number (e.g.: EDGE-1637270).

can i have more than 5 devices on an account?

Yes, the page that you posted from refers to computers only (you can only have 5 computers authorised on your account at any one time).
If you use iTunes Match, automatic downloads and/or redownload past purchases then you can only do so on a maximum of 10 devices and computers combined : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4627 - if you don't do any of those 3 things on a device or computer then it shouldn't become associated

  • HT1420 I run my business with Apple computers and personally own about 20 of which I personally use more than 5 of these. I can't authorize more than 5. Is there any way around this?

I run my business with Apple Computers and own more than 20. I personally use more than 5 devices both at home and at the office but can't "authorize" more than 5. Is there anyway around this problem? Thanks

Use the Deauthorize All command documented in this article, or if it isn't an option, the 'contact iTunes Store support' link at the bottom of it.

How can I authorize more than 5 computers on my account?
We have 4 iPhones, 1 iPad, 1 desktop Mac, and 3 MacBook laptops.

You can't but don't need to. The iPhones and iPad don't count as computers.

  • Can I authorize more than five computers on one iTunes account?

Can I authorize more than five computers on one iTunes account?  I have several PC's being used as HTPC's and I'd like to use iTunes on all of them.  My three iPhones and three PC's have taken up all of my authorizations.  If I need to create a second iTunes account, can it be linked to my existing account?

Todd, some suggested reading, none of which looks to me as requiring authorization as an iTunes device for Apple TV:

  • Can't connect more than one device.

I just bought an Airport Express 2 gen from a friend and I have two issues: I tried to reset it to factory settings and could not do it. Tried holding the reset button for 10 secs, unplugging and plugging back in while holding the reset button, holding the button for a longer time and nothing worked. I had no choice but to create another network. Once created, I can't connect more than one device. If I have my MacAir hooked up the network and I try to get my Ipad in, the minute I type the network pass in my Ipad, a screen pops up where I have to log in with my internet provider account. When I do that, it will connect, but my MacAir will disconnect automatically.
    Appreciate any help!

Things are a bit different with the 2nd Gen AirPort Express and other newer AirPorts.
A Factory Default Reset is now the same as what was previously known as a "Hard Reset".
Power up the AirPort Express and let it run a few minutes.
Hold in the reset button on the Express for 10 seconds
Release the reset button and allow a full minute for the Express to restart to a slow, blinking amber light
If the Express is operating correctly, it will be back to factory default settings at this time.
If you try the reset a few times and the Express will not return to default settings, the Express is defective.

  • You can not authorize more than 5 computers

I have music on my MacBook Pro, in iTunes, that I want to use, but it comes from an old account, that I don't use anymore, and some computers/iPods that are really not working. When I want to ear those musics/songs, I receive this message, when trying to enter the account, old, not the actual one: "you can not authorize more than 5 computers"
    What can I do?

    I quote:
You can deauthorize all computers connected to your Apple ID if you've reached the maximum five authorizations:
Click iTunes Store on the left side of iTunes.
If you're not signed in to the store, click the Account button, then enter your account name and password.
Click the Account button again (your Apple ID appears on the button), enter your password, and then click View Account.
In the Account Information window, click Deauthorize All.
Note: You may only use this feature once per year. The Deauthorize All button will not appear if you have fewer than two authorized computers. If you need assistance on using this feature, please contact iTunes Store support via email (http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/store/).
(end quote): once done you can then re-authorise computers as needed.

You can't authorize more than five computers under a single Apple ID at any given time.

  • TA22652 Hi, I have authorized 4/5 computers, now what once I'll be done with all 5/5 computers? Can I authorize more than 5 computers?

Hi, I have authorized 4/5 computers, now what once I'll be done with all 5/5 computers? Can I authorize more than 5 computers? Also I do not have any of the back up of other 3 computers I've authorized. Please help me!! Thanks

No more than five computers can be authorized at any given time. Computers can be individually deauthorized by using the Deauthorize Computer function; once a year, you can deauthorize all the computers without needing access to them.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can't authorise more than 5 computers, but you only have 2, your iPads etc don't count. You may well have single computers authorised multiple times.
Try deauthorising each computer and repeating the deauthorisation until it won't let you anymore, then re-authorise each one just once.
Alternatively could you have some older computers that you didn't de-authorise before getting rid of them. In which case you'll need to de-authorise all your computers at once from your iTunes account settings.
Please note you can only perform the last option once every 12 months.
