HT1420 Have I lost my content after de-authorizing my pc ?
My music and apps are gone after de-authorizing my PC where all content was stored and synchronised with my iPad and i Phone
I don't know how to re-authorize it again
Did I lose it all or is there a way to re-authorize ?

You will need to sign back into your Apple ID on iTunes, but you can definitely download your previously purchased items back into your computer. First, use this information to authorize your computer for your Apple ID purchases again:
To authorize a computer using your Apple ID
Open iTunes
From the Store menu, choose Authorize This Computer. (In earlier versions of iTunes, access this option from the Advanced menu).
When prompted, enter your Apple ID and password, then click Authorize.
Then you will want to follow the information in this article to view your past purchases history and re-download purchases from that list:

I have suddenly lost all content in my emails on my iPad. Any thoughts anyone?
I have an original ipad, which has suddenly ( a week ago) lost all content in the emails. I can see who the email is from and the first couple of lines of content, but when opened the content box is empty. Nothing has changed in the settings, or at least I haven't changed anything and there are no updates I have missed.

BrionyTry turning the account off and on : Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars , then tap the account on the right, slide Mail to 'off', exit settings and go back into the Mail app, and then go back to Settings and slide Mail back to 'on'
If that doesn't fix it then try closing the Mail app via the iPad’s taskbar : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar at the bottom of the screen, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third option is a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot. -
Lost diary content after upgrade?
I have iPad 1. I upgraded to the latest version, I think that's 5.0.1? after which contents of my diary was gone. My sister who did the syncing, mistaken did it on the guest profile on my laptop, instead of mine , where I had been syncing previously. Another question is, how do I disengage from the iTunes in the guest profile on my laptop and use only the iTunes in my profile? Please anyone? I am desperate :(
Well...don't I feel the fool! I got back in this morning and started looking at the problem when I realized, the TLN isn't missing, it moved! All the TLN and SLN moved to the bottom of the screen! It was just that I didn't scroll down to the bottom of the screen when I saw all the TLN/SLN gone. Now I just need to figure out why it moved to the bottom and move it back.

Firefox stores the bookmarks and the browsing history in the places.sqlite database file..
There are 10 rotating daily JSON backups (bookmarks-####-##-##.json) in the bookmarkbackups folder within the Firefox profile folder, one for each day that Firefox is started.

I know that I have an old model, but I was happy with it. I have tried connecting to different computers in my house that have not updated iTunes and have not had any luch restoring to factory settings. I restored the ipod by holding menu and select buttons, but that didn't work either. I tried installing older versions and synching, but no good. I am out of ideas. My kids just tell me to suck it up and buy a new ipod.
If might be helpful if you actually told us what the problem is.

Recently I have noticed my iTune purchased concert movies after being put back in the cloud are currently missing.
I have never had purchased content from iTunes vanish from my iCloud library and also not be available for purchase on iTunes.
When I had Apple personnel attempt to push the content back to me, they could not find Coldplay's Live 2012.
Even more strange considering their new album just went on sale and renewed interest must be prompting fans to review their collections.
A beautifully shot concert film is missing, a sad situation to be sure!

After a full system update phone and comp, some of my contacts have been lost and most of them now only have the numbers remaining, can the lost contacts be retrieved completely somehow.
At some point in the past, I synched with Gmail. Looking at my Gmail contacts, I can see that it's missing the same contacts I'm currently missing from the iPhone. Is it possible that I may have done that sync back in October 2009 (but not since) and then somehow recently over-wrote my contacts content with whatever was there? Is there some setting I could have tripped to make something like that happen?

I have an old ipod (it's the very thin oblong one in purple, the one before the one that does video) and want to know how to get everything off it and into my iTunes library. My old computer died and the original library was lost, so don't have any of the content saved anywhere else. I now have an iPhone 5S and listen to music on that, so want to be able to listen to things from the old ipod too.
Can anyone help please?

JaneApple normally does not get involved in handling lost objects like this. Since a real name is not installed it will be much more difficult.

after installing lion and updating to pages 4.1 cannot view my document content after I open the document. Shows how many pages I have and how many words in word count, but no words...
Same problem. Tried reinstalling Pages. Didn't help. The behavior is like I am typing with a white font on a white background, but I am not.

Can home sharing link automatically or do I have to connect each time after connection is lost ie if i leave house for day with iphone or ipad do I have to connect shared library again on iphone/ipad in evening when back in house? It would be good if it just links automatically
Well then maybe I misunderstood what you meant even though now that you explained it again, I should have though about that.
When you leave the house in the morning with your device, you lose the connection to the library because you are no longer on the same WiFi network as you are at home. You have to be on the same network in order to use Home Sharing. Once you get home again, you have to select the Shared Library again.

After updating to itunes 10 I now get an error message that says there is a problem with the windows installer package. I have tried all the things that others suggested but cannot download itunes at all now. Have I lost itunes forever?

I have an iPod whose contents I want to transfer to a newer Ipod. At some stage when I thought I was syncing correctly I wasn't so I lost the music files from my library. Is there any way to get them back from the older iPod and put them onto the newer one again?

I have lost the contents of my Address Book on my iMac Intel. The Contacts on both my iPod Touch 4th Gen. & my iPad 1st Gen. are ok but synching them with the iMac doesn't restore the Address Book.

The synch with my iPad didn't restore my Address Book, but when I changed the Contacts preference on my iPod Touch & synched it my Address book was restored. Thanks for the help. -

Check the Trash in your home folder. If that hasn;t been emptied they could be there.
If not then you might have luck using a file recovery program but for that to have any chance of success you need to stop using your computer immediately. The more you use it the mote likely that the disk space were the photos still might be will be used by the OS for other purposes and then they will be truly gone.
BTW just to make sure you don;t have any backups right?

It's a pre-installed app and therefore cannot be deleted so you may have inadvertently moved it onto a screen or into a folder, check the utilities folder as this is a common one for it to disappear into. Check all screens and folders and do a search in Spotlight, it will tell you if the app it still on your iPhone but unfortunately not where it is. If you find it on one or your screens or in a folder, press the icon until it wiggles and then drag it back to where you want it. Alternatively you can reset your home screen in Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout.
