Would like to know an " easy method " of downloading my ITune purchases to both my Aesus Laptop and my IPad Mini... former Mac owner... couldn't handle the learning curve...apparently have to have my computer " Authorized " ... can anyone give me a quick set of instructions.. ?... Senior citizen.. trying to stay in touch with technology...

On your laptop:
Open iTunes > Click the menu icon (top left) > iTunes Store > Sign in using your Apple ID then in the same place Authorize this computer
To download open the Store (Button on far right) > Purchased (in Quick Links on right)
On your iPad
Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Sign in using the same Apple ID
To download open the iTunes app > More > Purchased
For Apps open the App Store app > Updates > Purchased

If it is a genuine iPhone 4S (I know many people who have been duped by the cheap Chinese knock-off) then it should be unlocked for use with an SA SIM card. MTN and Vodacom both use the APN "internet", and you may find that if you are using a Vodacom SIM then the default APN is set as "iphone.vodacom.za". Change this by:
(iOS 6+) Going into Settings > Mobile Data > APN Settings and changing the APN to "internet".
(iOS 5<) Going into Settings > General > Network > Cellular Data Network and changing the APN to "internet".
I'm not sure what the APN is for Cell C, 8.ta and Virgin but I'm certain they are the same.

no, i had to leave so i logged out and when i opened itunes on my mac and went into the downloads tab it only had one paused download listed. i resumed the download for the one movie listed and the other one never showed up. its been about two weeks since i initially bought the two movies so i figured something was wrong.

They don't normally appear in the download screen ... until I attempt to download another movie. Then they just start appearing. If you click edit - a normal movie download has a circle that appears on the left hand side that allows you to select and delete ... these movies don't have that option so you need to find the movie in you list (under movies) and select the download cloud symbol again to stop it downloading ...you may need to do this a number of times before it stops for a while ... or until you try to download a movie then it starts all over again.

If the tracks were not in your iTunes library on your computer when you subscribed to match, I am afraid that they are lost. Do you have a separate back up of this music?

Copy it from your old computer or your backup copy of your old computer.
The sync is one way - computer to ipod.

Unfortunately you can't. You could try contacting Apple and asking nicely, but they're under no obligation to help you. If you can wait until fall*, when iCloud is officially launched alongside iOS 5, you can probably download them all again then.
The small print at the bottom of http://www.apple.com/au/icloud/ says "some music features of iCloud are available in beta now in the U.S. only"
I can't find anything which guarantees it will work outside the US after the beta, but it probably will. iTunes Match is definitely US only, for a couple of years at least until the legal stuff is dealt with.

Sorry, but audiobooks cannot be downloaded more than once without charge, so if you don't have a viable backup, you may be out of luck. You can, however, contact the iTunes Store, explain the situation, and see if they can make an exception for you.

Can you restore songs purchased from iTunes on a (broken)Mac onto a new PC?

The logic board on my iMac G5 failed (again), and I couldn't afford to get a new Mac, so now I have an HP laptop. Also, my kids locked up my iPod Touch for 4 million minutes or so. Is there anyway to pull at least the purchased songs from my iTunes account onto my new computer? It seems like if I bought the content, that I should be able to download it again right?
My old Mac is basically a paperweight, and I figure if I try and unlock my iPod Touch on a PC that it will clear out everything. Any help would be appreciated.

If you didn't make a back-up of your purchases to restore from (as you are advised to do) then I'm sorry to say that the policy on lost purchases is that you have to pay to download them again:
"Once a Product is purchased and you receive the Product, it is your responsibility not to lose, destroy, or damage the Product, and Apple shall be without liability to you in the event of any loss, destruction, or damage." iTunes Store: Purchased content can be downloaded only once
You could try contacting the iTunes Music Store Customer Service and you might be able to persuade them to sanction a second free download. There have been occasional reports in the iTunes forum of this happening, however just be aware that they are not under any obligation to do so. iTunes and Apple's devices work as an ecosystem. iTunes is designed to sync with Apple's products, not anyone else's. You'll need your songs in a format compatable with the Samsung phone and to use the software transfer program supplied/recommended. It is essentially not an Apple/iTunes problem. You may have better luck finding the information you need on Samsung's forums.

I've found that certain apps that I desire require a certain iOS level, so to speak. However, I have been hesitant to sync my itouch (3rd generation) to itunes to upgrade, mainly because it warns me that my media will be removed. Most of the music on my device has come from CDs which I have downloaded onto my itouch and not from itunes, so the music is not on my itunes itself. Since I do not fully comprehend what "syncing" my itouch to my computer will do, I would like to be certain that if I do sync my device all media will be removed. If this is the case, then I must persue ways to back that music up before I proceed with the syncing. If you could let me know as much information about this as possible, I would be truly grateful.
