De-authorizing Computers (contributed by user John Galt)
You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
  1. Open iTunes on a computer
  2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
  3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
  4. Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
  5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
If you have de-authorized all computers and need to do it again, but your year has not elapsed, then contact: Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us.
For more information on authorization and de-authorization: iTunes Store- About authorization and deauthorization.

  • Need help deauthorizing computers in my account!

I just got my MacBook Pro yesterday and I went to put my music into my itunes library, but this computer wasn't authorized. I tried to deauthorize all the computers, but couldn't because I had already done so with my last computer after it crashed. Any suggestions?

*To deauthorize all computers associated with your account*
If you find you have reached 5 authorizations, you can reset your authorization count by clicking Deauthorize All in the Account Information screen.
    (1) Click iTunes Store in the menu on the left side of iTunes.
    (2) If you're not signed in to the store, click the Account button, then enter your account name and password.
    (3) Click the Account button again (your ID appears on the button), enter your password, and then click View Account.
    (4) In the Account Information window, click Deauthorize All.
Note: You may only use this feature once per year. The Deauthorize All button will not appear if you have fewer than 5 authorized computers, or if you have used this option within the last 12 months. If you need assistance on using this feature, please contact the iTunes Store support via email (http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/ww/).

  • Need Help "Deauthorizing" Computers From my Account

Just got a new logic board installed on my 3+ year old machine and it's not letting me sync my iPhones. It says I'm only allowed to authorize 5 computers to my account. It asks me to "deauthorize" some of the older ones in order for my current machine to be "authorized." Anyone know how to find the list of machines I've used over the past 10 years so I can attempt "deauthorization?"
    Thanks !

  • Deauthorizing computers used in the past

    Hi,
Unfortunately i am not able to use the store downloads on a new laptop since i did not deauthorized computers in the past.
Unfortunately, I can not execute this process since two computers in the past 4 years are not in use any longer. Both were completely erased by me.
How do I keep using the store for my new lap top?
    Thank you
    Limor

Individual computers can only be deauthorised directly on them, but you should be able to log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option and 'deauthorise all' (which you can do once every 12 months) and you can then authorise/reauthorise the computers that you still have and need : authorising and deauthorising.

  • Help, my computers are all stolen (4). How can I reinstall my CS5?

Help, my computers are all stolen (4). How can I reinstall my CS5?

With all of your computers stolen you cannot reinstall anything.
What specifically is your problem?  Do you own the discs or do you need to download?  Do you need to get your serial number for CS5?  Do you need to have someone deactivate your software for the stolen machines?

    Hey mstogs101488,
You can easily deauthorize your account on another computer but it has to be already hitting you 5 max computer authorized.

If you need to authorize your new computer and are unable due to already having five authorized computers, you can deauthorize all computers by doing the following:
Click iTunes Store on the left side of iTunes.
If you're not signed in to the store, click the Account button, then enter your account name and password.
Click the Account button again (your Apple ID appears on the button), enter your password, and then click View Account.
In the Account Information window, click Deauthorize All.
Have a good one and enjoy your new MacBook Pro

  • HT1420 Help I've hit the limit of my authorized computers to use iTunes.

Can someone help me with the following questions to help me free up some computers for my 5 computer authorized computer limit to iTunes.
Is it possible to get a list of which computers are authorized? This would be helpful so I can find the computers I want to deauthorize.
Is there any way to remote deauthorize computers? I've had a number of computers over they years which I have used iTunes on and most of them have died so I am unable to deauthorize them (I'm probably not the only one with this problem). This would so help those with stolen computers.
Does "authorized computer" include iPads and iPods? I would know the answer to this if I could get a list of authorized computers. I hope not, because between my family there are currently 2 Mac PCs, 3 Windows Laptops, 3 iPods, 2 iPads (which adds up to more than 5) all of which access my iTunes account.

    1)  No.
    2)  Deauthorize all.
    3)  No, ONLY computers.

  • Help with deauthorizing computers.

I have 5 authorized computers on my account however, I only know of 1 that I am presently using.  If I deauthorize ALL my computers and reauthorize the one that I am using do I have to reload everything back onto the account?   Please help....thank you

No content is lost when you deauthorize. You just may not be able to play some of it (video content, old pre-iTunes-Plus music, etc) until you reauthorize the computer that it is on.

  • HT1420 Deauthorizing Computers

I am trying to deauthorize all of my previous computers.  When I try to add music purchased I get the message that I already have 5 computers authorized.  I followed the instructions to deauthorize them all and I don't get the link to click to do that shown in the instructions.  Instead, my account says I only have one computer authorized.  How can I get my current computer authorized and all others deauthorized?

  • I need help deauthorizing all computers

I have already tried to find the answer to this question in the FAQs, but the option to deauthorize all computers once I sign in on iTunes didn't show up. I do have 5 computers authorized at this point though because it says "5 out of 5 computers successfully authorized." I have the 15 inch MacBook Pro with retina display.

Open up your Account Information (if you're using iTunes 12, click on your name in the menu bar just right of center, pull down to account info).
In the first section of the box that opens up it shows "computer authorizations."  It will show how many, as well.  To the right is a click box that reads "Reauthorize All."  If you really want to do that, click it.  That SHOULD take care it.
If that doesn't work, chat with support online.  They can even log onto your computer and do it for you, if necessary.  Good luck!

  • HT1420 After deauthorizing all computers, I did not get a messsage to finish and I am unable to authorize my new computer. What do I do next?

I was unable to complete the deauthorization process for previously installed computers.

I am having the same problem.  I just want to get the last of the music I purchased off this really terrible, terrible software system so I can use it on a real phone (Android-based).  The thing must have known I'm trying to get rid of it because it won't let me deauthorize my computers so I can get the music on this one (hard drive crashed ... twice).  I am ending all my association with Apple because their products fail so badly whenever I try to do anything (like this).  For the life of me I can't figure out why they're so popular!

  • HT1420 Deauthorizing computers I Don't Have Anymore

I need to deauthorize four other computers, that I no longer have, in order to authorize the one I want. How can I go about doing that when I no longer have those computers?

If you no longer have, or access to, the computer(s) you want to deauthorise,
Log in to iTunes,  go to "view your account info" on the itunes store, deauthorise all five, (Please Note: this can only be done Once every 12 months)  and then re-authorize your current Computer(s) one at a time.

I have 2 computers that have crashed and are no longer in my care... how can I deauthorize them so I can transfer everything over to my first MAC computer? And once I deauthorize them, how do I go about transferring all the previously purchased items to it?

To download your purchases, from the Store menu again, select "Check for available downloads".
