HT1420 how do I deauthorise my old phone?

I've just got my new iPhone 5 and want to deauthorise my old iPhone 3GS so I can gift it.
When I go to the iTunes "Store" menu it asks me if I want to deauthorise "this computer"
How do I get it to deauthorise my old phone?
Thanks

iPhones (and iPads and iPods) aren't authorised or deauthorised, only computers are. If you are giving the phone to somebody then log out of your iTunes account on it by tapping on your id in Settings > Store, and then do Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content And Settings to remove all of your content from it and put it back to factory defaults.

You need to have itunes on your PC.
Go to your account on itunes and look for Manage Devices under the heading of (iTunes in the Cloud). You should be able to see it more or less straight away once your in your account.
Simply click into manage devices and remove any you wish to be rid off.
    Hope this helps

  • I have a new iPod Touch, so how can I deauthorise my "old" iPod Touch before giving it to my brother or husband?

I have a new iPod Touch, so how can I deauthorise my "old" iPod Touch, before giving it to my brother or husband?
    Thank you.

Are you just trying to deauthorize it from your iTunes account, or do you want to totally erase it?
Your iPod touch is not actually authorized to anything other than the computer you sync it with; it is not authorized with the iTunes store the way your computer is. Giving your iPod to someone else won't give them your store info. Once they plug it into their own iTunes, it will force them to erase the whole thing in order to sync it with their own computer.
If you want to wipe the thing clean before giving it to them, plug it into your computer and choose the option to Restore it. (Or on the device itself, to go Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.)

How can I stop my old phone number recieve my iMessage of my apple ID.

Turn off imessage in settings/messages, turn off Facetime in settings/facetime, delete the cloud account in settings/icloud and log out of your Apple ID in settings/itunes and app store.
Delete the phone from your profile in https://supportprofile.apple.com if you registered your phone there

I have 2 phones saved on iCloud storage, one is old phone and other is my new one. How do I restore my old phone data from iCloud storage to my new one?
It shows like 4.3GB is stored on my old and 105.9MB on my new. I want to restore the 4.3 to my new, how do I do that please?

    Welcome to the Apple community.
You will need to restore your phone and when prompted use the backup that you made yesterday.
Before you do so, you may wish to change your wife's iCloud login details, otherwise you may find that you then overwrite her data. She should have her own iCloud account to avoid this.

  • How to get pics from old phone to new phone using iCloud.

I just got the iPhone 5s and I used to have a 4. I backed up my pictures and contacts but the only thing that's on my new phone is my contacts. My old phone won't come back on. I need my pictures off of my old phone. My new phone says I don't have enough iCloud storage to backup. When I go to settings, iCloud, storage and backup, it lists my old phone and my new one. I don't know how to get my pictures back.

You have to use the other account or turn on sharing.

  • HT1420 How can I deauthorize an old computer that I have no access to?

How can I deauthorize an old computer that I have no access to?

You cannot yourself deauthorize a computer that's not working or to which you no longer have access. You can authorize a total of up to five systems, so unless you've hit that limit it's probably not really important that you deauthorize your dead unit now. Once you reach five total authorizations, a button will appear in your iTunes Store account that will allow you to deauthorize all your systems, so that would at that time recover the now-useless authorization.
If for some reason you really feel you need to deauthorize a system and you're not at the five-system limit, you can try contacting  the iTunes Store customer support department through their Contact form (follow the on-screen instructions)  and explaining the problem to them. They might be willing to clear your authorizations for you.

  • HT1420 I have successfully deauthorised my old computer but am unable to authorise my new machine.  I have followed the instructions but there is no option on the store menu to 'Authorise this computer'. Please help!

I have successfully deauthorised my old computer but a unable to authorise my new machine.  I have followed the instructions but there is no option on the store menu to 'Authorise this computer'.  Please help!

There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
The control is still in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:
Alternatively, if you don't want to bring up the menu bar, it's still possible to get into the authorise controls via nested menus accessible from the wee boxy icon. Here's a screenshot of where to find them:

    You cannot
You must deauthorize all, then authorize the active computers.
