HT1420 how do I deauthorize a broken computer?

So I got a new MacBook Pro because my 7 year old MacBook broke and I want to deauthorize it but I cant acess the iTunes Store through it. Is there a way to deauthorize it from another computer?
Thanks,

You cannot yourself deauthorize a computer that's not working or to which you no longer have access. You can authorize a total of up to five systems, so it's probably not really important that you deauthorize your dead unit now. Once you reach five total authorizations, a button will appear in your iTunes Store account that will allow you to deauthorize all your systems, so that would at that time recover the now-useless authorization.
If for some reason you really feel you need to deauthorize that system now, you can try contacting  the iTunes Store customer support department through their Contact form (follow the on-screen instructions)  and explaining the problem to them. They might be willing to clear your authorizations for you.
Regards.

  • HT1420 how can i deauthorize an old computer

Can anyone tell me how i can deathorize an old computer, so i can sync my iphone to this computer.

iTunes > Store > "Deauthorize this Computer..."
You can deauthorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. Otherwise you can "deauthorize all" from your iTunes account.
    Open iTunes on a computer
From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
Under "Computer Authorizations" select "Deauthorize All".
Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "deauthorize all" your authorized computers, authorize each one as required.

  • HT1420 how do you deauthorize just one computer?

Can you deauthorize just one computer you no longer have? And if not when you deauthorize ALL, do you just reload???

when you deauthorize ALL, do you just reload???
No you do not reload.  When you deauthorize, your music stays exactly where it is.
You can reauthorize at any time, provided the computer is in working condition and you are able to physically access it (and you still know your ID and password).

  • HT1420 how do i deauthorize an old computer

It says I have old computers, I am currently only using my mac.  I would like to know how to deactivate old computers?

Individual computers can only be deauthorised directly on them, but if you've reached the 5 computer limit then you can log into your account and 'deauthorise all' (which you can do once every 12 months) and you can then (re-)authorise the computers that you still have and need : authorising and deauthorising.

Yes, iTunes will prompt you for your iTunes account name and password when you attempt to de-authorise, regardless of whether you are already signed in.

How do i deauthorize a dead computer after using the "deauthorize all" button withing 12 months?

Ask the iTunes Store staff to do it. What you can do on your own is limited to reduce the possibility of abusing the remote deauthorization functionality.

  • HT1329 I have a dead computer with itunes on it.  How do I deauthorize a dead computer?

How do you deauthorize a dead computer for itunes?  We only get 5 computers, and I need a new computer to be authorized for itunes.

If you've got 5 computers authorised for the account in question, and you need to free up authorizations, I'd do a "Deauthorize All" from one of the computers you have access to, and then reauthorize the computers you have access to.
For instructions, see the following document:
iTunes Store: About authorization and deauthorization

How do I deauthorize my old computer and authorize a new one?

If the computer's running Mac OS X, move the cursor to the very top of the computer's screen, click on Store, and choose Authorize this Computer.
If the computer's running Windows, press the Alt and S keys and choose Authorize this Computer, or click here, follow the instructions, click on Store in the menu bar, and choose Authorize this Computer.
Deauthorization is done the same way, except for choosing Deauthorize this Computer.

how do i deauthorize a computer i no longer have? or has broken down on me and never had a chance to deauthorize it

If you did not deauthorize before selling, you have to deauthorize all from your actual computer:
Remember to deauthorize your computer before you sell it, give it away, or get your computer serviced. Also, make sure you deauthorize your computer before you upgrade your RAM, hard disk or other system components, or reinstall Windows. If you do not deauthorize your computer before you upgrade these components, one computer may use multiple authorizations.

  • HT1420 How do you Deauthorize a computer if its been trashed or can no longer be turned on?

I have authorized my itunes acount on 5 different computers, but of the 5 i can only access one. I just got a new computer and want to keep my itunes account on my old one and put it on my new one but cant because of the 5 computer limite. The problem is that the other 4 computers that i had authorized before are no longer functional, so how do i deauthorize them if i can even turn them on?

Log into your iTunes Store account -> Store menu / View Account. The Deauthorize All button will be there.
