HT1420 how to deauthorize broken computer on my account

i have no luck with computers i have gone through 5 laptops and didnt deauthorize them.  Now i have a new computer but itunes wont let me authorize it. As  it has already got 5 authorized
help please

Individual computers can only be deauthorised directly on them, but if you have 2 or more computers authorised then you can log into your account on your computer's iTunes (Store > View My Account) and 'deauthorise all' (which you can do once every 12 months) and you can then authorise/reauthorise the computers that you still have and need : authorising and deauthorising.

If you log into your account via the Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes then on your account's screen (under the 'Apple ID Summary' heading) there should be a 'Computer Authorisations' line with a 'Deauthorise All' button to the right of it - you can only 'deauthorise all' once every 12 months.

  • HT1420 how to deauthorize a computer that is not working

I have a few computers on my acct that are no longer working. I can't turn them on to deauthorize them. Is there a way that I can do this from my current computer?

    Yes.
For computers: You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. Otherwise you can "deauthorize all" from your iTunes account.
    Open iTunes on a computer
From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
Under "Computer Authorizations" select "Deauthorize All".
Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "deauthorize all" your authorized computers, authorize each one as required.
It is also possible to have mistakenly authorized a computer more than once. To fix that:
    Open iTunes.
From the Store menu, choose "Deauthorize This Computer…"
Enter your account name and password.
Click OK. A message appears reading "This computer has been successfully deauthorized."
    Click OK.
Repeat steps 2 through 5 above. If you see the same message reading: "This computer has been successfully deauthorized," then your computer was using multiple authorizations.
Repeat steps 2 through 5 above until you see a message reading "This computer was not authorized. To authorize this computer, play a song or video you have purchased using this account."

  • HT1420 My laptop crashed and I have authorized another laptop. I want to deauthorize the "crashed" computer but it is no longer working. All I can find is how to deauthorize "this" computer. Any way I can do that?

I need to deauthorize a crashed laptop that is no longer usable. I can only find how to deauthorize "this" computer. Can anyone help?

You need to use the Deauthorize All function. Remote individual deauthorization of a crashed computer isn't possible, and remote deauthorization of a working computer requires VNC access to it.

I cannot deauthoriza my computer from my account because it crashed, how can I deauthorize it now?

About De-authorizing Computers (contributed by user John Galt)
You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
      1. Open iTunes on a computer
      2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
      3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
      4. Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
      5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
If you have de-authorized all computers and need to do it again, but your year has not elapsed, then contact: Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us.
Also, see iTunes Store- About authorization and deauthorization.

Sign into your iTunes account with the old computer. Select Deauthorize This Computer under the Store menu.
If you no longer have the old computer then open iTunes Store on the new computer, click on the Account link under Quick Links. From your account page Deauthorize All computers is available. Note that you can use this option only one a year.

  • How can I deauthorize a computer from an account that isn't mine?

One of my sister's ex-friends authorized my family's computer and I need to deauthorize it.I have no clue how to and my sister's old friend isn't allowed over to our house anymore. Can you tell me how to deauthorize it?

    Hello pooh122159
You can do a Deauthorize all to remove all authorizations without having to download iTunes on the computer. Go to the iTunes Store on a computer and sign in to view your account. Once there you will see a section about authorizations and how many are there. Then you can Deauthorize all and all you would have to do after that is authorize the computers that they want.

Individual computers can only be deauthorised directly on them, but when you reach the 5 computer limit then you can log into your account and 'deauthorise all' (which you can do once every 12 months) and you can then authorise/reauthorise the computers that you still have and need : authorising and deauthorising.

  • HT1420 if I deauthorize a computer to clear all 5 authorizations, can I reauthorize the same machine?

I' getting ready to upgrade the components of this authorized computer. Somehow someway I've used all 5 of my authorizations. Probably multiple on this one alone since I beta test operating systems on it. Can I deauthorize all 5 and reauthorize only the one that are in current use without losing my purchases and whatnot?
    Thanks

Yes. Back the content up anyway.
You may be able to deauthorize your computer individually with the Deauthorize Computer function even if it doesn't think it's authorized.

how do i authorize computer after deauthorizing in itunes

There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
The control is still in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:
Alternatively, if you don't want to bring up the menu bar, it's still possible to get into the authorise controls via nested menus accessible from the wee boxy icon. Here's a screenshot of where to find them:

  • HT1420 how many computers are autherized for my account?

how many computers are autherized to my account and how can closed some of it that i dont use it anymore

    You can check here:
Launch iTunes and go to iTunes Store > Account (Quick Links section on the right) > Computer Authorizations
Each individual computer has to be deauthorized from iTunes on that computer: iTunes Store: About authorization and deauthorization
If you no longer have the computers, you can deauthorize all by clicking the Deauthorize All button to the right in the Accounts section mentioned above. Then simply re-authorize the computers you are currently using.
*Apple limits this option to once every 12 months.

  • Deauthorization of Computer in iTunes Account

I have been trying to find a way to deauthorize a computer on my iTunes account and realized, after following the steps provided, iTunes does not give me the option to do so. There must be some software glitch.
Anyway I need some help to do this and trying to contact someone from Apple to help is almost impossible.

Is this a computer you no longer have access to? You can't deauthorise 'dead' installations or computers you no longer have access to individually. However once you reach the limit of 5 authorisations you have the option to deauthorise them all in one go from your iTunes account and start over. *Just note that you can only use this option once a year*: About iTunes Music Store Authorisation and Deauthorisation
