I gave an old ipod to my brother. I now have too many devices so I have to deauthorize it. I don't see a choice to that listed only deauthorize all was listed.

You have to purchase the Firewire charger and the firewire cable for the ipod. Does it have a dock connector on the bottom of the ipod?

Vie you account in iTunes (iTunes>Store>View Account)>Sign in and go to iTunes in the Cloud>Manage Device and remove the iPod.

If the content is on an external drive, but your library knows where to find it, then it should all work. Connect your device, make some selections for what to put on it, and sync. If, on the other hand, your current iPod is the only place holding some of your media then see this user tip: Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

Connect it to his iTunes library and set it up as a new device. You should be prompted to Erase and Sync the iPod if his iTunes library is separate from hers.
Or head to Settings -> General -> Reset -> Erase all Content and Settings.

Use TouchCopy to move content from iPod to iTunes. Use iTunes Match to share content from iTunes to cloud.

Ipods are not authorized at all. Only computers are authorized.
Change your password if someone is using your account without permission.

About four years ago my old laptop crashed and I lost all of my music, games, videos, etc, from my iTunes. Recently I was able to get all of my music and videos off of my iPod classic. The problem is that an old username that comes up and I am unable to access that account anymore. It is a very old email address that is long gone. So, how do I fix this so I can get my media? In iTunes you use the Authorize This Computer or De-authorize This Computer option under the Store menu in iTunes' menubar. For Windows use the ALT-S keys to access it. Or turn on Windows 7 and 8 iTunes menus: iTunes- Turning on iTunes menus in Windows 8 and 7.

You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
1. Open iTunes on a computer
2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."

5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.

You can deauthorize all computers linked to your account once a year from the Store Account window. Then you would just authorize the new computer again.

My old computer got a virus and I had to reboot the system. Needless to say, I lost all of my music.
I found a great freeware download that you can use to download everything from your ipod to your computer. It's called Ephpod (www.ephpod.com) download the most stable version they have (it'll say whether it's a new version or an older more stable version) and connect your ipod. Once it recognizes your ipod, go to your songs list right click and select all songs, right click again and "copy to directory" and sit back and let everything transfer. Just know that if you futz around with ephpod while it's copying to the directory it will stop copying. good luck
