I want to sync my iphone to my pc, but its telling me that i can't because this pc is not authorized and i'm only able to authorize 5 pc's but i only have 3 and one i them (the one i want to use) is not authorized, so how do i deauthorize any old pc's that i had in the past

You can deauthorize all computers linked to your account once a year from the Store Account window. Then you would just authorize the new computer again.

I have an icloud account but i need to change the user id for it as its an old email address that i no longer have access to. This is different from my apple id.

To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iPhone, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use. If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.
Note: this will only work if the old ID is yours, and if your new ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID).

I think that's the way it's supposed to work. When you connect to a computer that has iTunes, but is different from the computer you are normally synced to, you are asked if you want to sync to the current computer. If you say yes, it will replace the content of your iPod with what is designated to sync in the iTunes. If you say no, it will leave your content alone, but you won't be able to load any new songs, but you can still use it in disk mode as a storage device.
The exception is that you can transfer your iTunes store purchases to the new computer from the iPod, but I haven't done that myself. I'm not sure, but I don't think you can transfer non-store tracks, like those you burn from your own CDs. You have to copy those manually and then sync them onto the iPod.
Anyway, that's how it works with a 6th gen and the latest iTunes. Not sure if there is a limitation with 2nd gen.

You don't need to delete the old library, but it will take a little effort to transfer the allegiance of the device to your new one.
You should be able to:
Backup the device to the new installation
Transfer your purchases into a newly authorized library
Recover any other media using third party tools as suggested in this post from forum regular Zevoneer
Restore the device from the backup
This process should switch the association of the device to the new library, preserving the data and settings in your apps.
May also be prudent to attempt a backup to iCloud directly from the device before you start... Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > iCloud Backup > On. It won't save any media but it would preserve the general account settings and documents in case anything goes wrong while you are trying to extract your other data.
When you get it all fixed, make a backup!

i recently got a new laptop....i tried to purchase new music from the music store, but it is stating i need to deauthorize my old computers in order to authorize this one. i no longer have access to those old computers, so how do i do this?

If you find you have reached 5 authorizations due to system upgrades, you can reset your authorization count by clicking Deauthorize All in the Account Information screen. Note: You may only use this feature once per year. The Deauthorize All button will not appear if you have fewer than 5 authorized computers or if you have used this option within the last 12 months.
in itunes 7 you can access your account by going into the music store and clicking the account link on the right hand side of the music store then sign in using your account details

Individual computers can only be deauthorised directly on them, but you can 'deauthorise all' (which you can do once every 12 months) and you can then authorise/reauthorise the computers that you still have and need - deauthorising a computer doesn't remove any content from it, it just means that you can't use/play your iTunes downloads on it until you reauthorise it : authorising and deauthorising.

You may need to "authorize" that computer before transferring music.
With iTunes open go to the menu bar (top of your screen) then click Store > Authorize This Computer
For iTunes Purchases...
Connect the iPod to your computer.
From the iTunes menu bar click File > Transfer Purchases From...

Most Windows users don't.
Purchase an external hard drive and use the backup software that comes with it to backup files from your computer.
Buy TouchCopy and install it on your new computer, connect your old iPod and transfer your songs to your computer.

You cannot yourself deauthorize a computer that's not working or to which you no longer have access. You can authorize a total of up to five systems, so unless you've hit that limit it's probably not really important that you deauthorize your dead unit now. Once you reach five total authorizations, a button will appear in your iTunes Store account that will allow you to deauthorize all your systems, so that would at that time recover the now-useless authorization.
If for some reason you really feel you need to deauthorize a system and you're not at the five-system limit, you can try contacting the iTunes Store customer support department through their Contact form (follow the on-screen instructions) and explaining the problem to them. They might be willing to clear your authorizations for you.

Pretty much the the email that I used (but didn't verify) to create my iCloud account was hacked and now I can't remove it from my iCloud account due to the iCloud password also being changed by the same person and the fact I had "Find my iPhone" app on my phone also??? I had to change my iTunes email as well but that was far easier so yeah :S.
Please help. I live in NZ, out in the country, so reception is rare and so is getting into the nearest town that has an Apple Store.

The iphone is not a backup/storage device. It simply mirrors the selected content of the computer to which you sync.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for this very occasion.
If for some reason you have failed to backup, not good, then you can transfer itunes purchases from your iphone: File>Transfer Purchases.

Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer is structured around you maintaining your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, matching the device content to the content on the computer. The exception is purchased content.

I'm not aware of anyway to see a list of your authorised computers. Have you had other computers in the past and/or updated or reinstalled the OS on those that you still have without first deauthorising them ? Thanks, I appreciate the help. I think this is one of the problems Apple is creating by changing the OS so often. I had fomer colleagues at [a major aerospace contractor] who told me that so many original files were ultimately lost because of the deadly change in the "Save As" operation that they are now afraid of every OS update. Apple has badly damaged their support base with that very prominent company (they won't update now until they've fully examined and understand changes in the pre-conditioned nature of OS computer functions), and they are a whole lot less enthaled with Mac-related equipment/software. Can't blame them, I too used orginal files that way (as easy-to-use templates), and lost some important files before I realized what was happening (to late to revert). Companies should not have to retrain employees each time an OS gets an update, it's can be very expensive several different ways. They learned a painful lesson with that one. And because I'm now retired and don't use multiple devices, I need iCloud like I need a hole in the head... but I'm told there's no way to keep Apple out of my computer. Fortunately, because of major problems when initially installing Mountain Lion, one hold-over of the hardware/software damage I experienced was that iCloud can no longer access my computer even though everything else is working fine again. That was the only "good luck" I had as a result of that expensive nightmare.
