HT1420 how to reset authorized computers

How do I reset the 5 authorised computers to 0
I have moved towns, and had to authorise the computers just to add songs.
I cant remember from which machines, it is a needle in a hay stack!!
Is there not a reset button?

You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. Otherwise you can "deauthorize all" from your iTunes account.
Open iTunes
From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
Under "Computer Authorizations" select "Deauthorize All".
Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "deauthorize all" your authorized computers, authorize each one as required.

  • HT1420 How to view which computers are authorized in iTunes store?

How do I check the iTunes store to see which of my computers are authorized? I have just sold one of my computers and forgot to deauthorize it. Actually, I am not sure it was even authorized. Before I contact the buyer and ask if they will meet so I can deauth, how can I check the iTunes store to confirm that it is or is not authorized?

You can't yourself; you can only check the number of authorized computers and deduct the number of machines you know are authorized.

  • How to reset my computers password

Hello Can someone please help me with resetting my computers password. I don't know what happen I believe someone changed my password without my knowledge now I can't make or allow any changes to my computer

Does someone else have physical access to your computer? If not, chances are slim that someone else reset it. If you have your original OS install disks, you can boot from it and go to the Utilities at the top and reset the password.

How can i deauthorise computers which are no longer functional & are within the 12 month period?

Click here and ask the iTunes Store staff for assistance. Only they can perform a second Deauthorize All before the year ends.

  • HT1420 How to see what computers are authorized in iTunes

How do you see what computers are authorized on your itunes account.  It says I have 5 and cannot add 1.

There is no list available from your end. If you can't individually deauthorize any of them, use the Deauthorize All function.

  • HT1420 How to deauthorize all computers if you no longer have access to the authorized computers

I have a new computer and have moved to a new state.  I tried to authorize this computer but unable b/c I've used my 5 authorizations.  Besides contacting people to deauthorize my old computers, what can I do from here?

Use the iTunes command Store > Deauthorize All, and then re-authorize just the ones you are going to use.
That command only appears if you are at the limit of 5, and you can only use it once per 12 months.

  • HT1420 I have used up the amout of authorized computers for one account, however two of them have crashed. How can I deauthorize those two without having to deauthorize the other three?

I have completed my list of 5 computers authorized. I am trying to authorize another one but I need to get rid of two authorized computers which hard disks have crashed. How can I deauthorize those two without affecting the other three?

Individual computers can only be deauthorised directly on them, but if you've reached the 5 computer limit then you can log into your account and 'deauthorise all' (which you can do once every 12 months) and you can then authorise/reauthorise the computers that you still have and need : authorising and deauthorising.

This helped meRe: can i check/edit authorized computers?? Jul 5, 2012 7:25 AM (in response to koraygoksu)
In order to see which devices are authorized on your account:
    Open iTunes
    Click Store
    Click Account
    Click View Account
    Enter your password
Look in the second section iTunes in the Cloud
To the far right you'll see Manage Devices
Once it's clicked you will see all of the devices currently authorized in iTunes/on your account
I was going to say, "Hope this helps," but based on the above, I'm pretty sure it did!

For anyone who may come across this thread, Tina is incorrect. That doesn't show all the systems that are authorized to a given account, only those which are set up for automatic downloads or redownloading, which isn't the same as those that are authorized to an account to play protected content. There is no way to see a list of those systems which are authorized to the account.

  • HT1420 How can I see a list of authorized computers?

Where can I find a list of what computers are authorized?

No such list, I'm afraid. If you are at your limit and have machines you no longer need be authorized but have no control over, then see the following:
    Authorization and Deauthorization
Macs:  iTunes Store- About authorization and deauthorization.
Windows: How to Authorize or Deauthorize iTunes | PCWorld.
In iTunes you use the Authorize This Computer or De-authorize This Computer option under the Store menu in iTunes' menubar. For Windows use the ALT-S keys to access it.
