  • HT1420 I can't find the "store menu" to authorize a computer

I am trying ot authorize a computer.  Apple support states:
Authorizing and deauthorizing a computer allows you to manage which computers can sync or use apps, audiobooks, books, music, movies, or other content you've purchased from the iTunes Store.
You can use or sync your purchases from the iTunes Store on up to five different computers (these can be any mix of Macintosh or Windows-compatible computers). When you sync or play an item you've purchased, your computer is "authorized" for purchase using your Apple ID.
    Notes:
In order to enable Home Sharing, Automatic Downloads, or downloading of past purchases, your computer must be authorized for use with your Apple ID.
Songs you encode in AAC format from a source other than the iTunes Store, such as your own audio CDs, and iTunes Plus content (music and music videos) do not need to be authorized.
To authorize a computer using your Apple ID
    Open iTunes
From the Store menu, choose Authorize This Computer. (In earlier versions of iTunes, access this option from the Advanced menu).
When prompted, enter your Apple ID and password, then click Authorize.
I can't locate this menu. HELP.

Thank you King_Penguin, your answer solved this issue for me
I guess to access that menu bar, a person will always have to us Alt-S, since it's now associated with the Store, and not with the player, in Preferences, as it was before.
    Thanks again

  • HT1420 Feeling really stupid with my new MAC - I can't find the "Store" menu in iTunes as referenced in the support article on how to authorize a computer.  Where is that menu option?  I've looked all over the page, in my account, etc.

In iTunes you use the Authorize This Computer or De-authorize This Computer option under the Store menu in iTunes' menubar. For Windows use the ALT-S keys to access it. Or turn on Windows 7 and 8 iTunes menus: iTunes- Turning on iTunes menus in Windows 8 and 7.

You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
      1. Open iTunes on a computer
      2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
      3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
      4. Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
      5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
If you have de-authorized all computers and need to do it again, but your year has not elapsed, then contact: Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us.

  • I can't find the "store menu" on iTunes to authorize my computer

I can't fine the "store menu" on my Windows iTunes in order to authorize my computer.

click on it, select show menu bar...

  • I still can't find the "Store" menu!

One song was "corrupted" while it was downloading so I have to re-download it. I tried the re-downloading it which brought up an error dialog box telling me to use the "Check for Available Downloads" option from the "Store" menu. For some reason, I can't seem to find this god-forsaken menu!
I've only managed to find "iTunes Store" which doesn't lead me to the "Check for available downloads" option.
I must be blind or something.

    Hi Echelon_Killjoy,
You know those times when you are looking for something that's right in front of you? Well, this is one of those times.
Nomatter where you are on iTunes, there is always a sidebar on the left and down the side are a list of words:
    LIBRARY
    Music
    Rentals
    Movies
    TV Shows
    Radio
    STORE'***'
    iTunes Store
    iTunes Match
    Purchased
    Downloads'!!!'
    SHARED
    Home Sharing
    GENIUS
    Genius
Then it continues to list the playlists, etc. The 'Store' menu I have marked with three stars '***'
Under 'Store' click on downloads, which I marked '!!!'.
On that page, you will find a botton labelled, 'Check for Available Downloads.'
And that's it! There you have it! Sorry to make you feel blind, by the way.
Good Luck! I hope I helped!

  • Using my iPad and when opening ITunes, can't find the store menu to choose "authorize this computer."

I need to authorize this iPad.  Instructions say to open ITunes and from the store menu choose "authorize this computer.". Cannot find.
    Thank you,

Use iTune on your computer. You authorize the computer not the iPad.

  • How Can I Find the "Store" Button. (I'm not talking about the iTunes Store. I'm not that confused.)

I am trying to download previous purchases to my new computer but it says that my computer is not authorized. I tried following the directions the help page gave me and I'm still lost. I can't find the "Store" button. If someone could help me I would really appreaciate it!

It's not a button, but a menu item. Look in the menubar of iTunes for the Store menu underwhich should be an option to Authorize this Computer. Be sure to use the same Apple ID that you used to purchase the items.
