How do I recover playlist or at a minimum purchased music/apps on itunes?
The only way to get playlists back is if you backed them up, iTunes does are not store them online.
In terms of apps and music purchases then you should be able to re-download them from iTunes (assuming that they're still available and you use the same iTunes account as you originally used to buy/download them) : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519 (music re-downloading is only available in the US but I assume that you are in West Des Moines in the US).
In the future it's best to make and maintain backups of your content - iTunes content, including apps and music, could be removed from the store, in which case you wouldn't be able to re-download them. -

You are allowed to have two machines with activated installations, so if you only had one installation, you still have the option to install on a second without doing anything further than that. If you originally downloaded the purchase thru Adobe then you might find a download link available in your Adobe account online. Have purchased a new computer but can not install elements 12 since it has been installed on an older laptop. This is a one time user program, is there a code that can be put in or a small fee to pay to be able to use the program again. Never installed the video editing and hoping this can be installed with no problem.
If the laptop is still connected Launch Elements in Expert Mode. Go to the help menu and sign-out. That will deactivate usage on the laptop.

To get synced photos from an iPod to a computer you need a third-party program like TouchCopy or PhoneView.

When launching LR 4.3RC, the dialog box appears with no catalogs listed. Clicking in the blank field where the names should be makes the one under the cursor appear. Clicking each line will eventually populate the whole list. Is this a known bug?
