I share my account with my wife. Between us we have more than 5 devices. Seems a bit rediculous to limit to 5.

1 Imac
2 ipads
1 ipad mini
My work desktop...

There is not a limit of 5 devices. You may be thinking of the limit of 5 computers. You can go ahead and use your iPads, etc!

I think you are using the same Composition Class on both project. On the properties tab, you can change this number (e.g.: EDGE-1637270).

Yes, the page that you posted from refers to computers only (you can only have 5 computers authorised on your account at any one time).
If you use iTunes Match, automatic downloads and/or redownload past purchases then you can only do so on a maximum of 10 devices and computers combined : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4627 - if you don't do any of those 3 things on a device or computer then it shouldn't become associated

I'm not sure if I understand your question, but if you create a new iCloud account with a different ID your existing ID isn't effected by this. It will continue to work as it does now, you will just have an additional Apple ID. If you have an earthlink email address you can continue to use it as a separate account, and it can continue to be your default account if you set it to be (in Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Account). If I'm misunderstanding your question, please explain further.

iPad and iPhones don't get authorised/deauthorised, only computers are. You mention deauthorising devices - do you mean that you've been into the 'manage devices' part of your account and removed them ? IHave you had other computers in the past and/or updated the OS on computers without deauthorising them ? Individual computers can only be deauthorised directly on them, but as you have more than 2 computers authorised then you can log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option and 'deauthorise all' (which you can do once every 12 months) and you can then authorise/reauthorise the computers that you still have and need - see that page that you posted from for more info.

The limit is 5 computers and as far as I know that can't be increased- are you including iPads, iPhones and/or iPod Touches in your products ? If so then they don't count towards the 5.

We don't access iMessage on the iPod. All of the iMessages appear in both of our phones as 'sent' or blue messages. Help!

This happens when you are using the same Apple ID for iMessage on both phones. To correct this, use different Apple IDs on each device. (You can still share the same ID for purchasing in Settings>Store if you wish; the ID for iMessage doesn't need to be the same as the one used for purchasing.) On the phone that will change, go to Settings>Messages>Receive At, tap the Apple ID at the top, sign out, then sign back in using the different ID.

I currently have an iTunes account for my iPhone 4S ......I am looking to purchase an iPod Nano and was wondering if I can add this device to my current ITunes account or If I need to create a new one.

An iPod nano doesn't connect to the iTunes Store directly, so you really don't add it to your account, per se. Just connect the nano to iTunes on your computer and sync.

As a family we are trying to use Household account for 8 devices. The household account will only hold 5 Devices. How do take current songs and apps and seperate into two accounts or join two household accounts due to the amount of devices.

iPads don't count as computers, they are not authorised/deauthorised as described on the page that you posted from, only the 3 computers do. Are you having problems with the iPads or computers ?

Yes, but don't load anymore software, and don't try to support both iPods at the same time. Unplug the "old" iPod and plug the Shuffle into the same USB port as you use for the old iPod. Assuming the supporting software is iTunes, the Shuffle should appear in the Source List just like the old one -- give it a unique name and complete whatever registration is required. And, while the Shuffle is plugged in (and selected) click the Options button (bottom of the iTunes screen) and select "Keep this iPod in the Source List." I'd also suggest deselecting "Open iTunes when this iPod is plugged in" -- this keeps iTunes from launching whenever you plug the Shuffle in just to charge -- you might want to do the same for the old iPod, if you haven't already.

More than one device connected?

I am testing out a project for a mobile device and when I package the apk and attempt to launch it on my phone, I get an error message sying that it can't be done because I have more than one device connected. I only have one device connected.
I've tested this project before n my phone and it launched as it was supposed to, but I added a document class to the project and think that might be causing the problem. Previously, I added all of my action script to a keyframe on the timeline, and everything worked fine.
I'd like some feedback as to whether or no the document class issue is the likely problem and how to get around it. If that's not the problem, I'd like to what what might be going on. As always, any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

using a document class is not the problem (though your document class may be a problem if it has errors).
use a file explorer to see if your computer lists more than 1 connected device. or restart your computer to reset its external connections.

Probably because of the GUIDs. When you upgrade or change hardware this tends to happen, especially on PCs.
