Hi all. I can’t tell you how to solve your iCloud 3.x issues. Heck, I don’t think they’re even solvable.
But if you had a previous version of iCloud that was working correctly then I can definitely tell you how to solve the “iCloud Photo Stream is not syncing correctly to my Windows 7 PC” problem. …without even a re-boot.
Log out of iCloud 3.0 and uninstall it.
Open My Computer and then open your C:\ drive. Go to Tools/Folder Options and click on the View tab. Select the “Show hidden…” radio button and click on OK.
Open the Users folder.
Open your user folder
Open ProgramData (previously hidden folder)
Open the Apple folder – not the Apple Computer folder.
Open the Installer Cache folder
In Details view sort on Name
Open the folder for the newest entry for iCloud Control Panel 2.x – probably 2.1.2.8 dated 4/25/2013
Right click on iCloud64.msi and select Install.
When finished, the synching between iCloud and your PC will be back to working perfectly as before the 3.0 fiasco. The pictures will be synched to the same Photostream folder as before the “upgrade”. Now all you need to do is wait until Apple/Microsoft get this thing fixed and working before you try the 3.x upgrade again.
I think the iCloud 3.0 software was written by the same folks who wrote healthcare.gov with the main difference being that healthcare.gov might eventually be made to work.
For those of you who hate to go backwards, think of it as attacking to the rear. Which would you rather have, the frustration of no synching or everything working on an older version?

When I bootup the icon for Elements shows up in orange. It changes to green only when I've gone to Finder and clicked on Elelments under the Devices list. This is a recent development. The icon used to be green upon bootup. Does anyone know why ?

I'm not affiliated w/ the developer, just a happy user that gave up fighting the apple podcast app a while ago. I used to have a bunch of smart playlists in itunes for my podcasts, and come home every day and pathologically synced my phone as soon as I walked in the door, and again before I walked out the door in the morning.
Since my wife was doing this too, we were fighting over who's turn it was to sync their phone.
Since I've switched to Downcast, I no longer worry about syncing my phone to itunes at all. I can go weeks between syncs.
Setup a "playlist" in downcast (ex., "Commute") and add podcasts to that playlist. Add another playlist ("walk" or "workout") and add different podcasts to that one.
Set podcast priorities on a per-feed basis (ex., high priority for some daily news feeds, medium priority for some favorite podcasts, lower priority for other stuff). Downcast will play the things in the priority you specify, and within that priority, it will play in date order (oldest to newest).
Allegedly, it will also sync your play status to other devices, although that is not a feature I currently use and can't vouch for. It uses apple's iCloud APIs, so to some extent may be limited by what Apple's APIs can do. -
I purchased a large app early 2012. It was updated late 2012 to support iOS 6 and iPhone 5. Unlike other apps that I've purchased which say "open" when I view them in the App Store, this one shews a full purchase price. I've deleted and downloaded this app before. If I delete it again will I be made to pay for it again? or will it download with everything anew? or will I lose the app?
If you are completely confident that you didn't hide it, then you purchased those with different apple id. If you completely confident that you purchases with same apple id then you have hidden it. One of the other or you are speaking about a miracle. While miracles are possible they are not very likely. Remember

The minimum requirement for iCloud is Lion 10.7.2 - earlier systems don't show the iCloud preference pane. If you want to use iCloud you will have to upgrade to Lion or Mountain Lion (assuming your computer meets their requirements) but even so you won't be able to publish web pages to iCloud because it does not provide web hosting. I am trying to get into my Game Center app but every time I tap on the app it opens too a blank white screen. I have tried several times to reset my phone but I get the same result.

It sounds like you are tapping the Game Center app to open it, but the screen is blank. I recommend signing out of your account:
Go to Settings > Game Center, where you can:
Sign out (tap your Apple ID)

I am trying to re-print a portion of a photo enlarged through "poster" in the print dialog box. The original photo printed just fine with the exception of one "page." This is what I'm trying to re-print. I have gone into the Multi- page box clicked on 4 x 4 and then selected the pages I did not want to print. This isn't working as it prints some pages and doesn't print others. All in all it is using a tremendous amount of ink for this project. Additionally I am printing on fabric which involves a deal of time in that preparation. The waste factor is turning into a huge cost. It should just be a simple thing to tell the print dialog box what I want it to do and have it do it. Help, does anyone have a solution?

I have never taken part in a forum and couldn’t wait any longer for any input so not wanting anyone to waste the time answering me, I marked the question as assumed answered. I guess this was the wrong thing to do and I apologize to the forum.
I did go another route and loaded and enlarged the photo in Photoshop Elements, Then cropped the photo to the area I needed to reprint. I probably should have done this in the first place!

Since the latest Snow Lepard security download, Quicken 2007 for Mac does not function properly (it crashes and will not print). Quicken says it is waiting for a fix from Apple. Any idea when that might come? Does anyone have another solution?

you can't bypass activation. Your phone needs to be activated for any of the functions to work.

I have set up Itunes Match and cannot see the tracks in icloud on my ipad
Folks - I have authenticated Match on my laptop and my ipad, matched my library to the icloud (all are clean - no errors), set up the Music App to enable Match and when I start up the Music App I am not seeing any tracks but those downloaded on the ipad (show all music is turned on). Help!
i think it depends on how many songs you have in your library. for me it took about 10 mins or so before all 13000 songs loaded up and showed on my ipad and iphone. try itunes match off on your ipad in the settings and then quick the music app and then turn match back on and then start the music app again and wait a few minutes.

I can use the Remote app on my iphone to connect with my itunes library on my computer, but I can't connect to the Apple TV using home sharing with another computer in the house. I am using the same ID and password that the apple tv uses to connect with the other computer. Also how do I check what version of IOS that my iphone is using?

Are all the devices on the same physical network? I think you're saying all are set up using the same home sharing credentials.
If you've not done so restart all devices and your router.
If you can get any of the devices connected by ethernet to reduce the wifi burden that may help but to be honest I would not expect simply beoing on wifi to prevent devices/computers appearing in the list.
Does the other computer have any firewall or port blocking software running? -

I've just purchased iTunes Match and I would like to set it up to all devices in my apartment. I've read that you can set it up up to 10 devices.
My situation:
I have MacBook Pro, iPhone 4 and iPad with my Apple ID.
My wife has her MacBook Pro and iPhone 3GS with her Apple ID.
My Macbook is authorised with her account and her MacBook is athorised with my account, so we can copy music from each other.
We have almost the same music library, just with few differencies (I have more heavy music and she has bit more soft music).
I've purchased the iTunes Match on my MacBook. How could I turn the iTunes Match on her MacBook and iPhone?

I have installed my lexmark x1100 printer to my macpro lion but though it registers its there it keeps telling me that the inkjet pots are not in position or wrongly inserted, how can I overcome this problem which is driving me crackers!!!!!
Thanks for the additional info. If the printer works using your Dell Laptop, then the printer is working fine. The problem is with the driver. The Lexmark X1100 is only compatible up to Mac OS 9.2.2. If you have the Mac OS X, unfortunately, it's not compatible with that OS.
You might want to consider purchasing a new printer - preferably a network printer since you have multiple computers. We do have printers that are currently on sale online. You can check it out here: http://bit.ly/KQBDe0
Those printers are compatible with the newest Operating Systems both for Windows and Mac. It also has drivers for Linux. -
