HT1420 I'm being prompted to authorize my computer when attempting to play a TV Show, but it has an old email ID.

I have a new iTunes account address so I really can't comply.
thanks in advance,
Steve

Probably happens all the time, but I thought I would share how i fixed my own issue.
I deleted the TV Shows | clicked Purchased | download previous purchases | and wala able to reload under my current account.
Do I still get 10 points?

I am being prompted to "Authorize athis computer" when syncing the I Phone or I pad on the desktop computer. Following the direction of going to Adminstraor
Account file so I can authorize the computer.

You are misreading. You're not being directed to some file, you're being directed to log into your Mac using a user account that has administrator privileges.

  • Why am I being told to authorize my computer in iTunes when I've already done so.

I am trying to determine why I keep getting a popup window telling me that I have to authorize my computer when I'm synching my iPad (which is about two months old). The message is that I need to authorize the computer and when I do so I'm told I have authorized 5 computers (which I haven't) and this is the last one. The problem is also that I've been using this computer to access my iTunes, synch iPhone and iPad for over a year so the computer has already been authorized!

Doublechecking ... is the iPhone still syncing okay? Or is that giving you the same message as the iPad?

  • Am being prompted to enter security questions when making a purchase on my new IPad.  I don't believe I have ever setup security questions on my apple id.  How to I create new security questions?

I am being prompted to enter security questions when making a purchase on my new IPad.  I don't believe I have ever setup security questions on my apple id.  I have tried logging into my apple id and have chosen the security and priviacy settings to set up security questions.  However I am prompted to enter answers to security questions and am told they don't match.  How to I create new security questions or reset them?

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, clicking here and picking a method for your country, and filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

  • My computer is authorized to play purchases but for one of the songs I recently purchased I keep getting prompted to authorize the computer to play the song. How do I fix this?

I recently purchased a song on my iphone. When I synced my phone to my computer, I was prompted to authorize the computer to play the song, which I did. It did not compute and thus when I try to play the song in iTunes on my Macbook Pro, I keep getting prompted to authorize the computer. Does anyone know why this is happening and how I can fix it? I also cannot play the song now from my iPhone. I even tried re-downloading it from the iTunes store and that did not help.

That suggests the track is damaged.
If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copy of the track and try redownloading a fresh one. See the following document for instructions:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.

    Hello Kuldip13,
It sounds like iTunes keeps asking you to authorize the computer. If you have already tried all the steps within the article you came from:
iTunes repeatedly prompts to authorize computer to play iTunes Store purchases
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1389
I would next check to see if the same Apple ID is signed into, that was used to play these purchases with this article:
Recovering a forgotten iTunes Store account name
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1920
    Open iTunes
Highlight one of the items you have purchased (You can find your purchases in your Purchases playlist).
    Choose File > Get Info.
    Click the Summary tab.
The Account Name area will list the account used to purchase the item. Unless you have changed accounts, this is your iTunes Store account name.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the very best,
    Sterling

  • Was repeatedly prompted to authorize this computer or I would no longer be able to play certain video's.

Hello, I kept receiving prompts to authorize this computer or I would no longer be able to view certain video's.  The funny thing is my computer is the administrator or original computer. Never had a problem for years now this started happening. I would select authorize this computer and it would say this computer is already authorized. In the block to authorize this computer it always had my daughters apple id (her e-mail address) and I would remove it and insert mine. I let her use the home sharing option before, could this have anything to do with it? Now i have only 1 movie out of 5 I have purchased remaining on my Ipod. And it won't reload the others back onto my ipod.  Where do i go from here? Appreciate any of you pro's out there lending me a helping hand.  Thanks very much.........

    Perhaps this article can help.

You may want to double check to make sure that all of these videos were actually purchased with your Apple ID. You can view this information from under each movie's Summary tab of the Get Info window in iTunes.

  • HT1420 I need to authorize my computer for my daughter's new ipod touch but there is no Store menu or Advanced menu in the new version of iTunes I just downloaded today.  I can't see a way to do it.

I need to authorize my computer for my daughter's new iPod Touch but in the new version of itunes that just upgraded to day there is no "store" menu or "advanced" menu that I can see and I can't see a way to do it.  So anything she buys with her i.d. won't transfer.  Help!

Macs:  iTunes Store- About authorization and deauthorization.
Windows: How to Authorize or Deauthorize iTunes | PCWorld.
In iTunes you use the Authorize This Computer or De-authorize This Computer option under the Store menu in iTunes' menubar. For Windows use the ALT-S keys to access it. Or turn on Windows 7 and 8 iTunes menus: iTunes- Turning on iTunes menus in Windows 8 and 7.
More On De-authorizing Computers (contributed by user John Galt)
You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
      1. Open iTunes on a computer
      2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
      3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
      4. Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
      5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
If you have de-authorized all computers and need to do it again, but your year has not elapsed, then contact: Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us.

  • HT1420 The instructions on how to authorize a computer need links. I can't find store menu and I can't find authorize this computer.

Hi - Does someone know how to authorize a computer so it will play the songs you've bought from iTunes? I've wasted nearly two hours trying.  It all began when I tried to remove a previously authorized computer which broke down years ago.
Step 1 - Log in with apple ID, go into account and click the deauthorize computers button (that's what they tell you to do if you can't connect the broken computer to deauthorize it).  I managed that.
Result - Now it says I have no authorized computers. Fair enough.  Except I'm trying to reauthorize the one and only working computer we own so it plays the music we've previously bought, and so we can use the iTunes store credit we still have.
Step 2 - Try and reauthorize the working computer - the one I'm typing on - it was authorized earlier today - until I had to unauthorize it to remove the defunct computer  with that deauthorize all button.
Anyway the instructions to authorize/reauthorize a computer say, "Go to Store menu - then authorize this computer. " Sounds simple!
It's at this point I'm stuck - the instructions are insufficient for me.There are no links to redirect you to the correct place to authorize your computer. It just says to go to store and authorize this computer. When I press store it's connecting me to store but I can't find anything that says authorize this computer - I can just see album covers etc. On the right I can see our account but I can't find store menu or an authorize this computer button in that either. If I click on our account it says that we have no authorized devices or computers. I'm logged into our account with the correct apple ID - otherwise I wouldn't be able to read that we have no authorized computers would I? And I've logged in and out several times and tried to refresh the page.
Could someone please send me a link to the Store menu so I can click on the correct page then hopefully reauthorize our previously authorized computer. We are using Windows 7, but I don't know what version of itunes - it's a fairly recent version though.
I wish they would make removing and authorizing computers easier - can't they just put a button on the main screen or something?

  • HT1206 I buy apps in my iPhone using different Apple IDs. Which Apple ID should I use to authorize the computer when synchronizing iPhone with iTunes?

I buy apps in my iPhone using different Apple ID. Which Apple ID should I use to authorize the computer when sync iPhone with iTunes?

    Hi again,
After a little further research, it appears that you would need to create separate iTunes libraries in order to be able to continue to purchase and download previously purchased items on the same computer, for two different Apple IDs. Sorry - but my husband and I have had the library we sync with authorized for so long, that we have not run into this issue, but it appears that you will get an warning when you try to authorize the second ID on the same computer, indicating that another ID is already associated with it.
So, you will probably have to set up separate iTunes libraries for each ID:

Sorry for any confusion - hope this helps!

iTunes keeps prompting me to authorize my computer then tells me it's already authorized and I'm stuck in a loop. The troubleshooting options haven't worked.  Any suggestions or does anybody have a phone number for iTunes so I can talk to a human being about this?
