HT1420 I need to authorize my computer and in the store menu there is no "authorize this computer" like the support page says...?

I'm having a hard time doing what I'm reading I should do when the option isn't there!

Windows: How to Authorize or Deauthorize iTunes | PCWorld.
In iTunes you use the Authorize This Computer or De-authorize This Computer option under the Store menu in iTunes' menubar. For Windows use the ALT-S keys to access it. Or turn on Windows 7 and 8 iTunes menus: iTunes- Turning on iTunes menus in Windows 8 and 7.

I need to Authorize my new laptop (Windows 8). I can't seem to locate the Store menu in which it's indicated I should find the Authorize function. Can anyone point direct me to it?
    Thanks!

    Hello dlmpsu85,
The menu bar can be temporarirly shown by pressing and releasing the 'Alt' key on your keyboard. You can also have the menu bar shown permanently, the process for which is detailed in the following article.

  • How can I remove private browsing as an option on the Firefox Menu? My kids use this computer and I don't want them to be able to private browse.

I want to remove the Firefox menu option for Private Browsing because my kids and teenagers use this computer. How can I do that? Private Browsing cannot be an option for my children. If I cannot remove it, is my only option to remove Firefox altogether?

This is new. Read carefully the section "About this Add-on". Not 100%, but there is no real way to totally take PB out of Firefox; that is also the case for other browsers that have a similar feature, as far as I know:

You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
      1. Open iTunes on a computer
      2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
      3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
      4. Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
      5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
If you have de-authorized all computers and need to do it again, but your year has not elapsed, then contact: Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us.

  • HT1420 Where is the store menu in iTunes.  I just got a new computer.  I disconnected the old computer and want to authorize the new one.  There is no file menu or store menu anywhere I can see.

Where is the store menu in iTunes?  I updated my computer and want to authorize it.  I deauthorized the old computer (and probably my desktop at a different location, and want to authorize the new one.  The help says that I need to clickon the store menu in iTunes.  I do not see any store menu.  I can access songs that I purchased a while back, but cannot download any new purchases.  If I cannot get this worked out, how do I recoup my money for the new songs?  Also, can I transfer the songs I purchased to another service?  Brad

It's in the same spot on a Windows machine as well

  • HT1420 I can't find the "store menu" to authorize a computer

I am trying ot authorize a computer.  Apple support states:
Authorizing and deauthorizing a computer allows you to manage which computers can sync or use apps, audiobooks, books, music, movies, or other content you've purchased from the iTunes Store.
You can use or sync your purchases from the iTunes Store on up to five different computers (these can be any mix of Macintosh or Windows-compatible computers). When you sync or play an item you've purchased, your computer is "authorized" for purchase using your Apple ID.
    Notes:
In order to enable Home Sharing, Automatic Downloads, or downloading of past purchases, your computer must be authorized for use with your Apple ID.
Songs you encode in AAC format from a source other than the iTunes Store, such as your own audio CDs, and iTunes Plus content (music and music videos) do not need to be authorized.
To authorize a computer using your Apple ID
    Open iTunes
From the Store menu, choose Authorize This Computer. (In earlier versions of iTunes, access this option from the Advanced menu).
When prompted, enter your Apple ID and password, then click Authorize.
I can't locate this menu. HELP.

Thank you King_Penguin, your answer solved this issue for me
I guess to access that menu bar, a person will always have to us Alt-S, since it's now associated with the Store, and not with the player, in Preferences, as it was before.
    Thanks again
