Your iPod has dropped into Recovery mode. You'll need to restore it via iTunes on your computer.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I just updated the softwars on my I-Pod touch. I lost all my music (3,000 songs). NONE of this music was downloaded from I-Tunes. All of the music is in I-Tunes on my pc - copied from my CDs to I-Tunes on my pc. After updating the software all my music is missing on my I-Pod. It is still in I-Tunes on my PC. How do I get it back onto my I-Pod Touch?
And all of my downloaded app are in I-Tunes, but they are no longer on my I-Pod. How do I get those back?

If no change after restoring the iPhone as a new iPhone or not from the backup, the iPhone has a hardware problem.

Hi Jane, your info may still be there, look in the Users folder at root of the drive, how many users are there there?

Well, you can't perform a reset then. What happens when you plug the phone into a power source? If nothing, then you'll have to make an appointment at any Apple store. The genius bar will offer you an out of warranty replacement. Cost is US $269.

Yesterday, my iPhone 4S screen went black and won't turn back on. So I tried just letting charge but after an hour nothing happened, so then I switched out the chargers and made sure the outlet I was using worked. But it still was black. Then I did a little research and I tried to put it into DFU mode but my power button has been broken for a few months now, so that didn;t work either. Then I tried restoring it, but my computer didn't recognize it!!! So then over night I let it rest with no power source connected to it. This morning I plugged it back into a power source and it showed the charging icon. I'm pretty that means it's still running, but I'm not an expert. PLEASE HELP!

If you have got a different USB Sync cable try to charge your iPhone with that as there are possibilities that your current USB cable or Power Adapter is not Charging your iPhone. If it still doesn't work make an appointment to Nearest Apple Genius Bar

I didn't know that it was posted three times. My computer didn't say that it posted anything.
My ipod still syncs to itunes and I can put podcasts and music on my ipod, but I can't delete songs after I put them on the ipod. When I try to delete songs I try to delete it from the main music list on the ipod. It's also doing all the other stuff that I posted before. The screen will go black and then the power off slider thing shows up for a few seconds, then it'll show the unlock slider bar. Then goes black again. I have a similar problem. I restored my iPhone 5 to the latest available OS. After completing the process the phone never restarted. The phone was fully charged when I restored it but now refuses to charge past the red battery icon. I have been able to get the phone in UFD mode several times and have been able to load the new OS on the phone. The Apple logo does come on and the software fully loads. iTunes tells me the phone will restart but never does. I left it to charge all night but it never appeared to load the battery. This morning I went to the Grand Central Terminal apple store for help. A woman at the store plugged the phone in but it never charged. She absolutely refused to believe that I got my phone in UFD mode and loaded any software on. I don't think it is a battery issue. The only solution I was given was to buy a new phone. Repairing it was out of the question. At this point the phone is completely useless. Thanks in advance for the help.

try a hard reset, hold the sleep.wake button and the home button down at the same time until the apple logo appears, it generally fixes this issue
