My MBP was stolen. Can I deauthorize that computer from using my itunes account? I don't want to "deauthorize all" because I have multiple devices in different places. Also, my understanding is that I can only do that once per year. Is there a way to just deauthorize that one computer and leave the rest of my devices alone?

If you had no backups and everything was on the computer I'm afraid the policy on lost purchases is that you have to pay to download them again:
"Once a Product is purchased and you receive the Product, it is your responsibility not to lose, destroy, or damage the Product, and Apple shall be without liability to you in the event of any loss, destruction, or damage." iTunes Store: Purchased content can be downloaded only once
You could try contacting the iTunes Music Store Customer Service and you might be able to persuade them to sanction a second free download. There have been occasional reports in the iTunes forum of this happening, however just be aware that they are not under any obligation to do so. Yes it happened to me.
Go to www.ehow and ask 'How to move music from your ipod to itunes'
The process is a bit tedious but it works and beats having to reinstall from cds etc.

If you've got 5 computers authorised for the account in question, and you need to free up authorizations, I'd do a "Deauthorize All" from one of the computers you have access to, and then reauthorize the computers you have access to.

As long as you sign in to apple store with same id used for the original purchase and authorised your computer you will find that when you download the app it will be shown as free.
your account has a full history of your purchases so no problem as long as it was purchased from apple store

when you buy stuff it's connected to the appleID not the computer
nor the appletv which have no storage so there is no option to get it from the atv

If your backup copy of your computer was not stolen, then use it to put everything back.
Otherwise, authorize your computer for your itunes account, connect iphone, do not sync, Click: File>Transfer Purchases
This will transfer itunes purchases from the iphone to the computer.
Enter at least one unique contact and calendar entry on the new computer. When you first sync, then you should get the option to merge the data.

iTunes match will only work from a computer in terms of uploading new content. You should be able to copy iTunes purchases back via File > Transfer Purchases (File > Devices > Transfer Purchases on iTunes 11). Individual computers can only be deauthorised directly on them, but when you reach the 5 computer limit then you can log into your account and 'deauthorise all' (which you can do once every 12 months) and you can then authorise/reauthorise the computers that you still have and need : authorising and deauthorising.
