HT1420 no computers are authorized and it won't let me authorize my new mac

I dont know what to do it doesn't give me any options.

How are you trying to authorise your account on your computer's iTunes ? There should be an Authorise option under the Store drop-down menu e.g.
Is that option not showing ?

  • HT1420 Which Computers are Authorized

I've got 5 computers authorized and I don't know which they are. Can I view a list of the authorized computers? I can't tell if I want to delete them because I don't know which they are.

You can easily discover if a computer is authorised or not by trying to play protected content from the iTunes account on that computer, if the computer is authorised for that account, it will play the content, otherwise it will ask for authorisation.

  • ITunes won't let me authorize my new computer because I already have 5 computers authorized. One of those computers are broken so I can't deauthorize it!

Ok so i have a new computer and i want all of my songs on it. problem is, i have 2,000 songs on my old computer and i really dont wanna waste a bunch of time downloading them back so i was gonna use homesharing on itunes. another problem is i already have 5 computers authorized for my account. i really cant think of the 5 computers i used to authorize my account besides my old computer, my friend's, and my old laptop. My old laptop is BROKEN so i can't go on itunes to deauthorize it!!! what do i do?! i really can't remember the other 2 computers i used to authorize my account! help me please thanks

    Hi songmii,
go into view your account(Store->View Account)
in that screen after you type in your password go to where it says authorizations and to the right you should see, deauthorize all, click that.
after that you just need to authorize the computers you are currently using(Store->Authorize this computer)
    that should do it
When I'm saying Store, I mean at the top menu where it says File-Edit-View-Control-Store
    hope that helps,
    Dane

  • HT1420 Only have 2 computers authorized and it will not let me authorize a 3rd account

can not added 3rd account it tells me i have 5 computers and i do not

If you log in to your iTunes account, then view your account details you can click a link that says "Deauthorize all". Then go to each computer, log in to iTunes and authorize that machine.

  • My app store isn't working anymore and it won't let me download any new apps and i am just wondering how to fix that?

How do i get so that my app store will let me download the apps i want?

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Go to Settings>iTunes and App Store and sign out and sign back in
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
      - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • I cannot uninstall Firefox and it won't let me install a new version.

Firefox will no longer open up so I can use it to browse. I tried downloading it to reinstall but it tells me I have to close Firefox as it is running. How do I do that? I've always used Firefox as my browser and now, it will not open so I've had to switch to Chrome or IE. I would like to have my Firefox back. How do I fix this? If I try to install a new version it repeats the 'close Firefox as it is running'. But yet, I am not using it as it will not open.

I found out I have the same problem. Everything but New, Choose New Theme and open are available. However, when I click new or choose nothing happens. I've reinstalled twice but I can't find any answers.

  • I have a really old iMac and it won't let me download the new firefox but I still have the old one which works so does that mean that they removed the old iMac from the new firefox?????

    The new firefox dosn't

Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac. There is a third party version of Firefox 4 that runs on OS X 10.4/10.5 and PPC Macs, for details see http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox
If you prefer, you can get the latest version of Firefox 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html

  • TS1541 I forgot my login password and it won't let me in to my Mac...please help!

I bought a new IMAC all in one in February 2012....so its very new.  I have forgotten my login password when I turn on the MAC therefore it won't allow me access.  Please, someone tell me how to reset this!!! Thank you!!

    Hello,
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Change Password from the Installer menu up at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Change Password.*
Of course for 10.7 & up there is no Install Disk, so boot from your Restore Partition holding CMD+r keys, & look for it there.

  • I purchased a song on my iMac on iTunes and it plays on that but won't play on my macbook even though both computers are authorized under the same iTunes account.  how do I fix this?

I purchased a song on my iMac on iTunes and it plays on that but won't play on my macbook even though both computers are authorized under the same iTunes account.  It says that i have to authorize my macbook and sign into iTunes, but then says its already authorized.  How do I fix this?

    Hi stuartbonk,
Welcome to the Support Communities!  Here are some steps you can try if you keep getting asked to authorize your MacBook for iTunes:
iTunes repeatedly prompts to authorize computer to play iTunes Store purchases - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203160
If you authorize your computer to play your iTunes Store purchases, but you can't play them and iTunes keeps prompting you to authorize, try these suggestions.
Authorize your purchases from an administrator account
To authorize your purchases from an administrator account, follow these steps:
Log in to the administrator account.
Note: If you don't have access to an administrator password, you'll need to contact the administrator of this computer. If this is a work computer, this may be your IT department.
Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes installed. You can download the latest version free.
    Choose Store > Authorize Computer.
Enter your iTunes account name and password.
Note: If you have multiple accounts, you'll need to log in to the iTunes Store and authorize each account separately.
    Quit iTunes.
After you've authorized your computer on your administrator account, you'll need to log out and log back in to the user account you'd like to play your purchases from. Once you're logged back in, simply open iTunes, select an iTunes Store purchase in your library, and click Play. The item should begin to play.Authorize using the correct account name
The items you're trying to play might have been purchased using a different iTunes Store account. To determine which account was used to purchase an item, follow these steps:
Select a purchased song in your library and choose File > Get Info.
Click the Summary tab. Note the Account Name that appears in the list. This is the account name (Apple ID) you'll need to use when authorizing your computer to play this purchase.
Note: The account name that appears is the one you used when purchasing the item and does not change if the account name (Apple ID) changes.
If you've authorized the Apple ID that is shown in the Summary tab, you can check the purchase history for that Apple ID from Store > View My Account. If your purchase history does not reflect the purchase of the items in your iTunes library, consider any other Apple ID you may have created, and authorize the computer for your additional Apple ID.
If you forgot the password to one of your accounts, you can recover it using Apple's password-recovery website.Remove the SC Info folderIf you're still unable to authorize your computer to play your purchases, you may be able to resolve your issue by removing the "SC Info" folder. To do so, follow these steps:
    OS X
Quit iTunes and any other open applications until only Finder is open.
Choose Go > Go to Folder.
Type /Users/Shared/SC Info and click Go.
If Finder is not already set to column view, set it by choosing View > as Columns.
Select the SC Info folder and move it to the Trash by choosing File > Move to Trash.
Restart the computer and open iTunes.
Authorize your computer to play your purchases. Note: If you have multiple accounts you'll need to authorize your computer for each account. For more information on how to authorize your computer, see this article.

  • I want to update my phone, but i purchased many apps and music on the phone. it won't let me authorize my computer so i cannot update. i don't want to deauthorize all my computers. how can i find out which 5 computers i have authorized?

i want to update my phone, but i purchased many apps and music on the phone. it won't let me authorize my computer so i cannot update. i don't want to deauthorize all my computers. how can i find out which 5 computers i have authorized? also how can i update the software?

This is a tedious solution, which is stupid!  And some users report an inability to reauthorize a computer after an "en masse” deauthorization.  I can’t believe Apple doesn’t provide a list or menu to find out which computers you’ve authorized! Obviously, APPLE knows (or else they couldn’t tell us how many computers we have authorized)--so why can’t they give us access to that information about our own computers??!!!
And for an already-authorized computer with a hard drive that’s since been replaced and upgraded from Mavericks to Yosemite, would it be recognized as a “new computer” and require authorization? Would its previous incarnation (i.e., with the old hard drive and OS) be considered a separate computer? Some users report they can’t authorize a computer after an OS upgrade because of that. Can’t believe we have to do such a bass-ackwards kludge!
