HT1423 Locating Memory Modules for iMac?

I have a 21.5” iMac with a 3.06 Ghz Intel Core i3 Processor with four slots for Memory, capable of holding four 4 GB 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM Modules, but I can’t find these to purchase. Can someone suggest to me where I can purchase these, please? Thank you.

  • Memory modules for Msi Big Bang trinergy

    Hey forum,
i want to buy some memory modules for my trinergy mobo because the ones i had earlier also proved to be incompatible. I would like to ask you if there are any memory modules besides the ones recommended from the MSI site concerning my mobo. I am looking for a 2x2 gb ram kit with a heat dispenser so it can work around 1600mHz. Thank you in advance
P.S Is the list on the site the only one? i mean are there any updated versions of it with more high end memory modules tested?

Ideally you would provide us with your fullsystem specs first >>Posting Guide<<
From a memory perspective, the reason these modules have heatspreaders is mostly due to marketing and to impress the potential buyers. The secondary reason is that most manufacturers sell you overvolted and overclocked 1066 or 1333 chips on a 1600 marketed module that needs 1,65V instead of the standard 1,5V. Your memory controller is part of the CPU and natively only supports 1333 at 1,5V.
If you really insist, then at least get yourself a 1600 kit that does this speed at 1,5V. One of the modules that seem to work well are the CMZ4GX3M2A1600C9 from Corsair. From a user perspective, the mem modules from Crucial that you see in my signature come highly recommended as they have been proven to work on the P55 platform whenever used.

  • What's the right memory module for an iMac G4 Flat panel 15-inch?

    Hello!
A new program I've recently bought requires me to expand my iMac's memory, which is currently 256 MB.
After searching the Apple Store web site, I think I've come to the conclusion that what I need is an Apple memory module called "512MB DDR266 SO-DIMM (PC2100), 200-pin". As I don't know any expert who can give me some advice, and as I'm no expert myself, could anyone please tell me if that's right?
    Thank you!
    iMac G4 Flat panel 15-inch   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Ciao e benvenuto alle discussioni di Apple.
There are actually 3 different types of user slot installable RAM for the iMac G4 models so you'll have to check what your processor speed is (Go to  Apple Menu > About this Mac > ):
    iMac G4 15" and 17" 700 or 800MHz, PC133 144pin SODIMM.
    iMac G4 17" 1GHz, PC2100 200pin SODIMM
    iMac G4 1GHz 15" or 1.25GHz 17"/20", PC2700 200pin SODIMM.
So although I can't tell you exactly what RAM you need I can tell you that if you have a 15" screen the PC2100 is wrong.
I'd advise using Crucial memory in Europe as the prices are amongst the best and they are Mac friendly. I wouldn't recommend Apple memory; it's overpriced. I also wouldn't advise buying a cheap brand as it could cause trouble.
    Here are the fitting instructions.

  • HT1423 Upgrade memory in an iMac.

It's looking pretty straightforward to install more memory in and iMac.   Is it really that easy - for a non-teckie, that is!

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
It depends of the iMac. For example, the Late 2012 iMac is more difficult to install RAM because the slots aren't visible, but on an older iMac, it's so easy. Just follow the steps of that link to install memory, and look the maximum memory supported for your computer

I want to add memory to my iMac and when using the built in memory selection it displayed  the following...when i searched for the PC3-10600 meeting the criteria listed all that came up was HP products...is this correct?  Will this work?  Just want to double check before I purchase more memory.

  • Which bluetooth module for iMac 17" 1.8Ghz

I am trying to decide between two bluetooth modules for a 17" 1.8Ghz iMac. So far I have found part number 922-6201 and 922-6530. They look similar but I have been unable to find any explicit documentation that mentions the correct part.
    Can anyone help me out?
    JT
Also feel free to reach me on ichat: jasontm1

According to the information here those part numbers are interchangeable and are really the same card.
It is really odd that on that page it states:
    Description
Add BlueTooth to your iMac G5 17" & 20" Mac with this Apple part.
But then does not include any iMac G5 in the compatibility information:
    Compatibility
Power Mac G5, eMac (USB 2.0), iMac (17-inch Flat Panel, 1GHz), iMac (USB 2.0), Power Mac G4 (FW 800), Power Mac G5 (June 2004), Power Mac G5 (June 2004), Power Mac G5 (Late 2004), Mac mini**.

  • Need memory modules for Satellite A200-1AE

I found something like this: http://www.shop-com.co.uk/Toshiba_2GB_PC2_DDR2_Memory-44398202-59442999-p!.shtml
This is memory for my laptop but it is too expensive!!! Is this only way to upgrade my memory in laptop or can I use other items but based on 667 Mhz, can i use dual channel? How it can be?

    Hi
    I found this site:
    http://www.orcalogic.co.uk/asp/prodtype.asp?prodtype=30725&ft=m&st=3
    The 2GB DDR2 667MHz (PC2-5300) costs about 81.
You have to use the PC2-5300 but its no matter what manufacture it is.
Some no-names modules are not so expensive but the performance is not good.
Anyway, these modules are from Kingston and as far as I know these modules are not bad.

  • HT1423 Mixing Memory Modules

My iMac 27" can take up to 16g memory having 4 slots.  Right now I have 4G memory installed (2x2g ram). Can I add 2 x 4g memory in the vacant slots? Thanks!

As long as the memory you get is the correct type it should not be a problem.

    G. Skill and Corsair make good RAM. Other people also like Crucial, Geil and OCZ. G. Skill are especially good for overclocking.

  • Question about Memory Upgrade for iMac G3/350 - Slot Loading

I was thinking of upgrading my memory and found this on eBay
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350070149602
The auction says that it won't work in an apple computer but it looks like it should. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    James S.

I agree with Richard; if the seller says it won't work in a Mac, why bother? It's likely to be hi-density, which either won;t work or will show up in a Mac as only half its true size.
I've been hanging around these forums for nearly seven years and have seen a lot of tears shed over alleged Mac RAM bought on eBay. Your mileage may vary, but I get RAM for our 13 Macs for online venders who are Mac-savvy. They all work.

  • Memory options for iMac

Does the Late 2013 iMac with 3.5 GHz i7 support triple or quad channel memory? I am running Mavericks 10.9.5 with the stock 8GB and trying to find the highest possible memory bandwidth the machine can run.
In other words, will 2x8GB, 3x4GB, or 4x4GB will give the highest speed access to memory? I am not often seeing the used RAM exceed 7GB, so I am not too worried about passing 12GB if triple channel is supported.

    BrianAdam3342,
The answer is really pretty simple, iMacs are fussy about upgraded RAM installed. If you want your machine to work reliably follow these three rules of thumb and you will likely be rewarded with years trouble free RAM use. :
Buy high quality RAM from recommended sources such as OWC (www.macsales.com) or Crucial
Stick with the specifications Apple recommends.
Install matched sets of RAM. If you are going to continue using your existing 8GB,
    add 2x4GB = 12 GB
add 2x8GB = 24 GB or if you want to max out at 32GB
    add 4x8GB = 32 GB
Add the RAM in options 1 & 2 to the 2 empty slots when you open the iMac's RAM door.

  • Using Old Memory Module For New Netbook

I just bought a Toshiba NB505 netbook. I'm wondering if I can take one of the modules out of my old compaq presario and use it in my new netbook.
    (The compaq runs on XP.)
If not, can you recommend a 1gig module I can buy.
    Thanks,

No, Randy, you cannot use your old memory. RAM modules are seldom transferable.
I recommend that you obtain yours from Toshiba or buy the best that Kingston makes.

  • Buying right memory modules for my mac-mini (mid 2011)

Could someone please confirm if I could use one of the following DIMMs for my mid 2011 mac-mini? (I'll be using 2x4GB DIMMs)
I tend to go for the transcend one, being cheaper & I see good number of folks using it without issue on their macbook pros's (source: reviews from flipkart)
    Please help me decide.
    Rs. 1068 Transcend DDR3 4 GB Laptop RAM (JM1333KSN-4G)
Rs. 1223 Kingston ValueRAM DDR3 4 GB Laptop RAM (KVR1333D3S9/4G)
    Rs. 1277 Corsair DDR3 4 GB Laptop RAM (CMSO4GX3M1A1333C9)
Supported DIMM specifications by Apple: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4805

    @aasheash
    I had bought 2 x
    Transcend DDR3 4 GB Laptop RAM (JM1333KSN-4G)
My machine started having kernel panics and I had to re install the OS
This happend 3 times and it took me a while to figure it was the RAM upgrade
I dont think these Transcends are Mac compatible
Can anyone please elaborate on the RAM timings or any other compatibility criteria. I figured I better understand this one, coz unfortunately I came across posts saying that this Transcend is compatible, but actually its not
Machine works fine after putting back the old RAMs
    I have a macbook pro 15" late 2011
