HT1430 cannot get my phone off of connect to itunes screen and wont be recognized by itunes
i tried to do a restore on my iphone after updating software on my phone due to several other problems. now i am unable to turn off phone. it will not come off of the connect to itunes screen. however when i connect to itunes it does not get recognized as a device on itunes
Hey courtnoah,
That sounds frustrating! I'm here to help. It sounds like your iPhone is currently in recovery mode. This means we will have to restore the device. However, if the device is not recognized in iTunes we'll need to refer to the following information:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538
The most relevant information may be in Section 5: "Verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed" and excerpt "If the device is not recognized while in Recovery Mode". If those steps do not immediately resolve your issue, please follow the rest of the article.
For more troubleshooting on recovery mode, you can also refer to the following:

Thanks,
Matt M.

I see the "Connect to iTunes" screen and the device appears in iTunes. Every time I connect to iTunes, iTunes says my device is in recovery mode and has to be recovered so I do so. The same recovery message shows in iTunes after iTunes is complete. I have a iPod touch 64gb. I have no idea what OS is on it now that iTunes has tried to recover it and erased all info.
Restore loop (being prompted to restore again after a restore successfully completes)
Troubleshoot your USB connection. If the issue persists, out-of-date or incorrectly configured third-party security software may be causing this issue. Please follow Troubleshooting security software issues. .

Your options depend on which MacBook you have and the version of OS X installed.

I attempted to update my iphone 5 through itunes. Itunes backed up the phone. However, when it tried to install the updated software an error message displayed -42110. Now the iphone is unresponsive with a usb icon with an arrow pointing to an itunes icon. The computer makes a connection noise when I hook the phone to the computer but it does not appear to be recognized. It does not appear in the My Computer section. Itunes does not recognize it either. I disabled my security software. I uninstalled itunes, Bonjour, Quick time, apple updates, Aplle mobile updates ect. I reinstalled Itunes and the program still does not recognize the phone.
If you uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes, did you follow the steps in this support document http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 exactly. Check and make sure. If you did, then try this support document to get the phone into the Recovery mode. It may take more than one try. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808

Try on another computer with another USB cable.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

After updating my Iphone 4S to the newest operating system, I cannot get my phone to stay off when I turn it off. Has anybody got any ideas what to do?
Hello purplechemist,
I would be concerned too if my iPhone was not turning off. I'm not sure if you have tried this, but I recommend first trying to reset your iPhone:
Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
You can find the full article here:
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1430
If the issue persists after the reset, I recommend restoring your iPhone. You can find steps for backing up and restoring your iPhone in the following links:
iOS: How to back up

HT1430 I cannot switch my phone off as it is stuck on a black screen with a circle going round
I cannot switch my phone off as it is stuck on a black screen with a circle going round as if it is going on to the next screen, I cannot seem to chnage it off this screen. i also will not connect to itunes with an unknown error 0xE800065. Any ideas???
Start at # 3
1- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
2 Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

3 If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
4 Try on another computer
5 If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

i was updating my iPhone and it is stuck. It won't complete the update and I cannot turn the phone off or use it at all. How can i get it unstuck?
i'm wondering if i can use my macbook pro to override the update that is incomplete. What does this have to do with Classic operating systems? They won't run on a Macbook anyway.

Cannot get my iphone 4 to connect via bluetooth to another phone or my pc
I cannot get my iphone 4 to connect via bluetooth to another phone or my PC, despite activating bluetooth on the iphone it just says 'devices' 'searching' 'now discoverable'. I have put the 2 devices very close to each other as well.
Anybody have any ideas?
ThanksThat's because it's not supported. The iPhone supports hands free devices, keyboards and A2DP audio streaming. Bluetooth can only be used to a computer for tethering. Some apps can establish peer to peer connections for gaming and data sharing, but that's it.
What you're trying to do will NOT work. -
on my iphone I am getting a "Cannot Get Mail" prompt says " the connection to the server failed. My mail last updated 1-31-14(the last time it would retrieve mail) Ive done the turn on and off thing, thanks
i had this problem a couple times. Try:
1) to restart your iPhone (turn off and then on)
2) connect to a different network or use cellular (it may be a network problem)
3) delete your mail account from Mail app, and then add it back in
4) create an icloud backup of all your data, restore through iTunes and then restore from icloud
hope this helps. cheers! -
I am trying to updated my Iphone 4s and there is a erroe while updating. My phone has now got a iTunes icon with a arrow below it and a picture of a connectione cable below that. I cannot get the phone to respond to any thing.
Here's a few things to check
1. Make sure you are using the original usb cable provided by apple
2. Try re-installing iTunes preferrably uninstall then install a new version
3. Try different usb ports
4. If all goes wrong, install itunes on a different computer and update it on the other computer, then you can always plug it up again on yours and restore your information
