anybody can help. despite numerous try by holding on/off switch and home button, after restart it still hang on the "äpple logos'.

It's just the battery sign - nothing else. I've tried to reboot by holding down both power and home key for 10+ seconds, waiting for the apple logo - but nothing happens. It's plugged into the imac at the moment. I tried to recharge it overnight using the normal charger - but no luck. It went dead during a Skype call with a friend - even though it was powered into the mains - albeit at a low battery level at the time

I pressed and held the sleep/wake switch and home buttons for about 15 seconds until the apple logo appears on the screen but it is stuck and wont go any further

Try to force your phone into recovery mode. Disconnect it from the computer's USB cord. Turn it off if you can by holding the sleep/wake switch until you see the red slide to off. If you can't turn it off, please continue. Press and hold the home button while plugging it into the computer's USB cord. Continue holding the Home button while iPhone starts up. While starting up, you will see the Apple logo. Could be the charger, cable or iPad. Plug the USB cable into your computer. It may say "Not Charging", however, it is charging slowly and will verify that the cable is good. If your computer/iTunes does not recognize the iPad, then the cable is probably bad.
Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. This is not a reply. I just want to elaborate on this problem.
My computer freezes occasionally when it is used after being sleep for a while. The spinning ball appears and everything is totally disabled. Nothing on the keyboard works.
The mouse moves, but does not work.
The only solution is to turn the power off and on (losing all data in open applications.)
I kept the System monitor running on the side to find out which program was running when the computer froze. The Monitor as well as all other applications froze, but the data showed:
Firefox 18.4%
Activity Monitor 0.9%
Firefox Plugin 0.2%
This is all the information I have. By the way, I am using iMac with OS 10.6.

My IPOD with not turn on. I've tried numerous times to turn it on and tried resetting it even more times. It just stays on the white Apple Logo. Do i need to get a repair done? Or just buy a whole new one!?

I assume by a reset you mean holding both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear correct? Keep in mind this may take a number of tries.
If that doesn't work, try connecting your iPod touch to your iTunes library in Restore Mode using the instructions from this Apple support document.

Have you tried a soft-reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, after which the Apple logo should appear and it should reboot.

You can try to reboot a few more times. If it doesn't come back and you normally sync to a computer, hook it up and see if the 'guts' are working even if the screen isn't.
Beyond that you should make an appointment at your local apple store and have them check it out.

Can you please specify more, what generation and is it wifi or wifi and cellular?
The best thing to do with all ipad's is try ro set it back to factory setting, go into itunes, open the screen that displays your ipad and press, reset r factory settings or something like that.
Remember to make a backup first! Otherwise you will lose all your files.
