HT1430 Help! I was downloading an update for Candy Crush, and my cell crashed! No screen! All black, and I'm unable to turn it off or anything!
Ive tried everything! Ive only had this phone for almost two months! Help!!!
ok nevermind! I held the power on/off button on top right while pressing the home button at the same time... for at least ten seconds as it says in the iPhone guide... it worked!!! However, I'd love to know what happened so I don't do it again?

First restart your WiFi router.
You can also try resetting your iPad by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.
Try again to see if the problem persists. -

- Quit the App by opening multi-tasking bar, and swiping the App upward to make it disappear. (For iOS 6, holding down the icon for the App for about 3-5 seconds, and then tap the red circle with the white minus sign.) Relaunch the App and try again.
- Restart the device. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
- Reset the device. (Same article as above.)
- Reset All Settings (Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings)
- Delete the App, then reinstall it.
Test the issue after each step. Make sure to quit the app as described before each followup step. -
I have Iphone 5 .. Tried to download latest version of Candy Crush .. Using data .. But can't stop it ... Have turned phone on and off .. Deleted some apps I don't use .. When I double tap button .. It's still there ... But unhighlighted ... Question .. How do I get rid of it before I have no free Data left.

2) Just because the app is stuck downloading does not mean it is actually downloading or using data.
3) Reset the device by pressing and holding the Home and Power buttons until the white Apple logo appears.
If this does not allow the app to finish downloading, simply delete it as you would any other app. -
Updated To Mountain lion and since then aperture software is all "black and white"

Since I have upgraded to Mountain Lion, my Aperture (3.4 now) is having a black and white looking field (all menus and icons are in black and white). Tried to repair but still does not work , argggg

I am unable to download an update for photoshop elements 11. I keep getting error code U41M1C212.

Are you trying to RUN or SAVE the download?
Make sure to choose SAVE.
Also, are you current on all your windows update packages?
And what is your internet connection - is it wireless, or wired? -

Thanks for that 'sberman' - because my iPhone is backed-up to my work computer (only at this stage) I have had to call our IT Department in Adleaide. (4 times this morning). The last guy managed to get the phone into 'DFU Mode' - no more recovery mode screen - (kind of 'asleep' perhaps) from my understanding of same. I am awaiting a call again from IT so they can get my computer to actually recognise my iPhone on the C Drive. This also happened to one of my colleagues in Newman (WA). She got so frustrated with the whole process that she bought another phone the next time she was in 'civilisation.' She hasn't had any problems since. (Cross fingers).

I downloaded Mail Update for Mac OS X 10.5.6 and was told it could not be installed because it was from an unidentified developer. Tried installing download from MailUpdate & advised the disk did not meet the requirements for update. Expect it's due to being at 10.9.1. Mail is still teetering between dysfunctional and non-functional. Advice?
I'm not sure what "Mail Update for Mac OS X 10.5.6" is. Mac OS X 10.5.6 is Leopard, a system that is quite old at this point. There have not been any Mail updates for Leopard in quite some time. If you are trying to install some old Mail update for Mac OS X 10.5.6 in Mavericks, that won't work.
If you are trying to install the Mavericks Mail update manually, that's not necessary if you have updated through the App Store. If the App Store shows no updates, you don't need this. (The error message doesn't make sense, and may indicate some other problem with your system, assuming that you were downloading this update from Apple's site.)
I'd advise you to start a new topic in the Mavericks forum and describe the problems you are having with Mail. Be sure to include specifics, but try to avoid speculating on causes, as responses that may be related to an inaccurate assumption on your part can cloud the issue. -

What is the latest iOS for iPad 2? Is it iOS 7 or can you update to 8?
all I remember is that my iPad mini performed poorly under iOS 7. Try to update it to the very latest version. Also you will have to use iOS 8.1.3, because 8.1.2 is no longer signed in case you were trying to install that. You can get the latest IPSW from http://IPSW.me just enter in your device and it will forward you to the right Apple ios download link.
Another thing is keeping your device memory free, if you have a 16 gig device, it's harder to keep space free. my iPad mini is 16 gig, but all I can ever keep free is 1 GB so I keep it at that. Turn off "iCloud photo sharing beta" and that will help a little bit. also when you do a restore from iTunes, don't restore your backup right away, see how it performs fresh, and then add your apps back in one at a time you might have to sacrifice photos and other personal things for performance. -

If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Devices list, and then click Restore.
(You may already have a micro USB cable if you have a camera or other digital device) -
While downloading software update for Itunes, got message saying detecting Ipad in recovery mode and telling us to restore Ipad to original settings, which we don't want to do. Also cannot turn on Ipad; shows Itunes symbol with connector. Help!
No promises but a System Reset is worth trying:
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.
A System Reset does not remove any apps, music, movies, etc. nor does it cause any settings to revert back to default.
Also, you might wish to download the iPad-2 User Guide. Pay special attention to page 162. Note that this Guide also applies to the iPad-1 with IOS 4.3 except for those functions that are not supported by the hardware.

Whilst synching to my PC it said there was a software update for the iPhone.
