HT1430 I changed my password at another station n the iPad email is not working. What should I do

On the iPad there is email. I changed e password at another station at work and now the one on the iPad is not accepting new mail. How can I restart the email on iPad?

1. Select Settings
2. Select Mail, Contacts, Calendars
3. Select the email account in question.
4. Select the Account option at the top.
5. Select the Password option
6. Erase your old password and enter your new one.
7. Select Done and your password has now been updated.

    I really can't comprehend the logic that leads to believe that password for old apple id will come to e-mail for new id. Buy may be I just misunderstood something. Contact Apple for assist with password retrieval. If you can verify yourself as account owner they may be able to help you.

    For Safari ?
    Open Keychain Access located in HD > Applications > Utilities
    Select Passwords on the left.
    Type in the name of a website Safari no longer autofills the password for in the search field top right corner of the window.
    Then right or control click that keychain then click Delete.
    Back to Safari. From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Autofill tab.
    Make sure:  User names and passwords is selected.
    Navigate to the website you just deleted the keychain for.
    Enter your user name and password.
    Click Yes when prompted to save that data to a new keychain.
    Do the same for other sites Safari no longer auto fills passwords for.

    If you know which keyboard layout is active, tell us the characters you need to make and I may be able to tell you how to make them.
    When you do have access to your machine, go to system prefs/users & groups/login options and check the box for Show Input Menu at Login Page.

    Check the primary email account associated with the Apple ID you are using to create your iCloud account on your computer.  You should see an email from Apple.  You need to click the Verify Now link on the email to verify your account.  (Be sure to check both your inbox and your spam/junk folder).
    If you don't have a computer, add the email account to your iPad by going to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Add Account.  Then use the Mail app to check for the email.
    If you don't see the email from Apple, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage your Apple ID, sign in, click on Name, ID and Email addresses on the left, then to the right click Resend under your Primary Email Address to resend the verification email.

    I have the same problem - it is maddening. I rely on this iPad for work so this is not just an annoyance! The above solutions of changing the appleid on the device or on the website do not work.
    The old email address no longer exists - I haven't used it in a year probably and I no longer have the account.  I logged into the appleid website and there is no trace of the old email address so there is nothing that can be deleted or changed there.  On the iPad there is no trace of the old email address so nothing can be deleted there either. I have updated the iPad software and the same problem comes right back.  Every 2 seconds I am asked to log in using the old non-existent email.  The device is currently useless.
    The only recent change to anything was the addition of an Apple TV device, which was set up using the correct login and password.
    Does anyone have any ideas? The iPad has been backed up to the iCloud so presumably it now won't recognize the current iCloud account? So restoring may notbe an option?

    You may have already done this, but try de-authorizing your computer (through the iTunes:Store menu) and then re-authorizing it.

    Firstly, if you have 'Find My iPhone/iPad/iMac' enabled on any of your devices, turn it off.
    Create a new email address, for example  at Yahoo or Gmail, or anywhere convenient (or you can use an existing address as long as it has never been associated with an Apple ID).
    Go to http://appleid.apple.com and click 'Manage your Apple ID'. Sign in with the current ID.
    Where it says 'Apple ID and primary email address' and gives your current ID email address, click 'edit'.
    Enter your new address and click 'Save changes'.
    Now you will need to go to each of your devices and sign out in System Preferences (or Settings)>iCloud - 'Sign out' on a Mac, 'Delete this account' on an iOS device (this will not delete the account from the server).
    Then sign back in with your new ID. Your iCloud data will disappear from your devices when you sign out, but reappear when you sign back in.
    I re-iterate: before you start, turn off 'Find My Mac' (or whatever) or you will need the services of Support.
