  • I got locked out from my iPad mini during setup, keep ask me for passcode but I didn't set one up.  Reboot unsuccessful, iTune won't let me connect because I didn't enter my passcode. How to fix this?

I got locked out from my iPad mini during my initial setup.  Keep ask me for passcode but I haven't setup one.  Reboot and restart didn't solve the problem, tried connect to iTunes but it won't let me because it requires the passcode.  Tried my Exchanged password, Apple ID password and my iPhone passcode but none work.  Any idea to resolve this?

Try and force your iPad into Recovery Mode
    1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
    2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
    Note: Data will be lost.

  • I got locked out of my ipad by a passcode and the itunes restart is not working

I was locked out of my ipad because I forgot the passcode. I have tried the iTunes restart to wipe everything off the ipsd to start over and it is not working.

Here's the Apple support page on this. If the Restpre process doesn't work you need to put your device into Recovery mode. Read through all the steps and follow them carefully.

  • I couldn't find out my security questions and I got locked out . I tried to send an email to my rescue email but my sister does not have access to that email any more please help.

I need help ASAP. I got locked out of my Apple ID and I can't get my security questions. I can't use my rescue email to get the answers to my security questions because my sister no longer has access to that email address.

If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer 2 of your questions) then see if this user tip helps : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4551
e.g. you can try contacting iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Account Management , and then try Apple ID Account Security
or try ringing Apple in your country and ask to talk to the Accounts Security Team : http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57

My husband changed the Apple ID on our computer.  For some reason, iCloud has the old Apple ID and it won't let me change it.  I've been locked out of my iPad twice and had to restore it because of iCloud.  How do I change the Apple ID (not the password)?

In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > iTunes & App store, scroll down and tap your ID)
If you are using iMessages or FaceTime, you will also need to log out and into your ID there too.

  • HT4061 I am locked out of my Ipad it wants my passcode that I do not have?

Iam locked out of my Ipad. It wants a passcode that I do not have. I have tried the re-boot and that did not work. This is a hand me down ipad and it was working
for about a month then today it wanted this passcode? Don't know what to do I have a pc would that help me?  Bobby

The only "official" way to recover from a lost or forgotten passcode to restore the iPad as a new device. Doing so completely erases the iPad.
However, if you are really running iOS 3.1.3 as your system information suggests, you may be able to extract the passcode with techniques you can find on You Tube etc.
Later versions of iOS encrypt the restrictions passcode very securely so such techniques will no longer work.

  • I got locked out of Mac os 9 and now I can't get into OS 9 or OS X.  All I see is the Macintosh SE and a finder face and text that says "mac os 9.2 welcome to mac os".  I can't get into COntrol Panel to reset the password to allow me to get in.

Do you have OS X and OS 9 installed on your Mac? If so, startup with the Option key depressed. This will open the Startup Manager window. Select the OS you want to start from & click the right arrow.

  • Got locked out as administrator

I know this has been asked before but could not find an answer that I could use.
Got locked out from my computer as an administrator -- did not forget the log in code - but I get the computer shaking when I enter the log-in info that I have been using for a while.
Tried to booth from the Lion usb start up disk -- tried to use previous back ups -- I just can not get in ...
Any one with ideas -- besides taking it to service
I'll never make it as a hacker since I can not even get into my own computer that I have used for years....

Boot into Recovery by holding down the key combination command-R at startup. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
When the Mac OS X Utilities screen appears, select Utilities ▹ Terminal from the menu bar.
In the Terminal window, enter “resetpassword” and press return. A Reset Password window opens.
Select your boot volume if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Follow the prompts to reset the password. It's safest to choose a password that includes only the characters a-z, A-Z, and 0-9.
Select  ▹ Restart from the menu bar.
You should now be able to log in with the new password, but you won't be able to unlock the Keychain. If you've forgotten the Keychain password (which is ordinarily the same as your login password), there's no way to recover it. You’ll need to reset your keychain in the preferences of the Keychain Access application.

Connect the iPod to its syncing computer and restore via iTuns. If iTunes asks for the passcode and you can't enter the passcode or you do not have the syncing computer, place the iPod in recovery mode and then restore. For recovery mode see:
