HT1430 i plugged in my phone to upgrade and now there's a picture of the wire that connects to the computer and itune logo that wont' go away, how do i get back to the main screen? i have turned the phone off and on and it's still there, help!!
I can't do anything with my phone now, not even look at the serial number that they require for you to chat with apple. Can anyone help me?

That doesn't sound good. It sounds like the power outage might have corrupted the partition for OS X. I would suggest booting from the Install DVD that came with your Mac while holding down the C key. Once you have selected the language start up Disk Utility from the pull down menu and repair the disk. Once you have done that then repair permissions also.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

Someone before you must have done it. Connect your iPod touch with your computer. In iTunes, under Devices, select your iPod touch, click Restore button and set up your device. Everything should get back to normal.

I have had the same problem. It was cured by turning computer off and/or restarting it. I am not sure if once was enough. I think shutting down must cut out whatever it is that blocks bluetooth. Good luck

ipad froze up when i was updating itunes with ipad plugged into computer. now ipad just shows a picture of a cord with an arrow pointing to the itunes logo. does anyone know how to free up my ipad. ive tried unpluggin it and plugging it back in to itunes but nothing unfreezes it.
Try and force iPad into Recovery Mode
1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: Data will be lost. You may have to repeat the above many times. -
HT4943 I can't get back to my main screen from newsstand.
I have to switch my ipad off and on to get back to the main screen. Does anyone know a way round this?
Perhaps you have already found a solution by now. If not, just single tap the home key and you come back to your homescreen and the newsstand disappears. It is not an app that can be swiped away, it is a collection of individual magazine apps that is shown in a newsstand format.

I had the same problem with my iPad and my Phone. Reset the phone ( Hold down the button on the front while holding the power button until it turns off) Plug in the charge lead and it will come back on charging. (Worked for me) The only way to see it is charging seems to be to look at the battery percentage after a while.

I can't get out of the edit mode in my messages. I can not get back to a message summary screen no matter what I do. The options across the bottom of the screen are reply, trash, folder, flag and reply.

You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.
You can restore from a backup if you have one from BEFORE you set the restrictions passcode.
