HT1430 iPhone won't turn on or charge and only displays low battery image. Reset doesn't work. Help?
This morning, my iPhone actually was down to 1% battery left. However, after more than 20 minutes, the battery still wasn't charging, so I followed the directions of shutting down my phone and turning it back on and then resetting it. When I powered down my phone, it wouldn't turn back on, and instead, it shows the low battery image on dispplay. I tried resetting it even longer than the usual 10 seconds, but the apple logo does not show up. I hope my battery isn't dead, but is there something I can do to fix my phone other than what I have done so far?
You can "try" recovery mode:
Turn your phone off, then force it into recovery mode & restore it:
Leave the USB cable connected to your computer, but NOT your phone, iTunes running, press & hold the home button while connecting the USB cable to your dock connector, continue holding the home button until you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen. You may now release the home button. iTunes should now display that it has detected your phone in recovery mode, if not quit and reopen iTunes. If you still don’t see the recovery message repeat these steps again. iTunes will give you the option to restore from a backup or set up as new.
If no luck...your next step is an Apple store.

Iphone won't turn on or charge - I've tried everything! Any ideas?
Hi guys,
I have the new Iphone 3GS and last night while I was asleep the battery died, so this morning I plugged in with the wall socket and nothing seemed to be happening... swapped plugs, swapped cables, charged it with my car charger and have now got it plugged into the computer. It's responded each time with the apple symbol as if it's trying to turn on, but it eventually goes blank after 30secs or so. I've left it on charge for a few hours and nothing seems to be happening! Really don't want to go through the hassle of sending it to get repaired as I have important things not backed up on it!
Any ideas on how I can get it to work?
Thank you!
AmySee if you can force the phone into recovery mode:

Ipod Shuffle won't turn on or charge and isn't recognized by the computer
My Ipod shuffle won't charge and isn't recognized by the computer , it turned orange than stopped and won't charge or turn on since. Does anybody has a solution please ?
I have exactly the same problem with both my ipod shuffles. That suggests to me that it is a problem with the ipods rather than my PC or computer software. I'm surprised that no Apple tech has suggested a solution yet.

MBP went off and won't turn on again. Charger shows full battery ( green indicator) although I know I was close to low batt befor going off. What happened???
Thank you for your detailed troubleshooting attempts. Very helpful. Sorry, I cannot read "logs." My eyes just glass over on those things. Hopefully, a knowledgeable user will come along shortly to decipher for you.
I noticed from the pics that your location setting is "untitled." Have you tried the "Automatic" setting? Run the diagnostic test? Results?
Try the basics first:
Change your router channel number. Most times this works & is all you have to do.
Disconnect & reconnect your modem. unplug it for about 10 seconds. Plug it back in. Do the same for Apple’s routers. Wait for everything to reboot.
System Preferences>Network
Click the Assist Me button.
In the next window that pops up, click the Diagnostic button & do the necessary.

I've tried buying new chargers and plugging them into different outlets around the house but the iPod will not respond to anything. The home button is broken so I can't reset the iPod by holding both the home and lock screen buttons down, and it won't even connect to iTunes when plugged into my computer. How can I fix this issue? The iPod never overheated or anything, and it still had charge left before it quit responding.
Unfortunately for you, the home button is necessary for reset and also to put the device into recovery mode or DFU mode. Since that is not working, and the device is not recognized in iTunes, check the charging port area. There could be dust, lint, etc, that is blocking the connection for charging, and connecting to iTunes. If nothing seems wrong there, then make an appointment at the Genius Bar of the nearest Apple Store or Authorized Apple Service provider, depending on your location. There is no other option.

My iPhone won't turn on or charge
So I have an iPhone 4 16GB that I've had since brand new around 2 years ago.
I charged it throughout last night and got to it this morning to find it hadn't charged, despite having a chare symbol in the corner. I left it to (from 4%) and tried to charge it again. The problem starts here as the apple symbol will come up and go through the start-up process, but as soon as the background appears, it snaps straight onto the shutdown process as if it had just been turned off or died again (rotating circle). I left it to charge all day hoping it would resolve itself but all day it has repeated the afore mentioned on and off sequence the whole time. I tried to restore it from my itunes but as the phone won't stay on my macbook can't connect to it, and I have run out of ideas. I have used various chargers ad cables and even a dock and the same thing happens everytime.
Thanks in advance to any replies/ thoughts on the matter.I let it charge again all last night but nothing new has happened. When I plug the phone in to charge it responds as normal but just won't charge or stay turned on, and as I said before I've used multiple different chargers and all have the same result.
Thanks for the quick response -
My iPhone won't turn on/off, charge or show up on itunes.
I locked my iPhone using the lock/power button and now the lock screen won't appear and I can't turn it on/off or charge it. Anyone have any ideas?
Your phone is fried.
Time for a new one! -
I've tried charging it overnight and it still will not turn on, when connected to the charger the apple sign just goes on and off but does not do anything, i've tried resetting it and this also does not work, but then once taken off the charger it doesn't even say the sign for charging it just does nothing
Turn your phone off and connect your cable to the computer, but not the device just yet. Start up iTunes. Now, hold down the home button on your phone and plug it in to the cable - don't let go of the button until iTunes tells you it's detected a phone in recovery mode. Now you can restore to factory settings.

My MacBook Pro 13" won't turn on 90% of the time I try to get it running, and when it does turn on, even on a charger, it shuts down if I stop using it for 2+ seconds and it won't turn back on. Should I replace the battery? It doesn't hold a charge either...
EmadJamal,
the battery won’t melt because of long connection to the AC charger, although that has the potential of reducing the battery’s life.
Do you have access to a second 60 W AC charger to test with your MacBook Pro, or access to a second 13-inch MacBook Pro against which your AC charger could be tested? -
My iPhone 3GS doesnt turn on unless charging
My iPhone 3GS doesnt turn on unless charging and when on says to connect to iTunes.
any clue to why this happens?
thank you for your support. Is it fully charged?
If it is... then I would suspect a battery issue (i.e dead battery). -
my ipod 5th generation won't turn on or charge and i can't hold in both the button to charge it because the hoe button is broken, what can i do to fix it?
You are going to have to take it to the Apple Store to see if they can do anything for you. The Home button is critical for using your device. You need to get it fixed.
Cheers,

My iphone 5 won't turn on or charge
My Iphone 5 won't turn on or charge. I've tried 3 different chargers, a reset but still nothing. Any ideas or tips?
Hi there Betty Boop 64,
I would recommend taking a look at the troubleshooting steps found in the article below.
iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting

Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.
Issue not resolved
My issue is still not resolved. What do I do next?

I just got my battery and iphone 4 screen fixed and when it turned off because there weren't any battery left, I tried charging it. After charging it for like thirty minutes, I pressed the home & lock button and it turned on for a moment for me to see that it was only at 1%... So basically it wasn't charging for that entire half hour. Then, I tried connecting it to my computer and nothing is popping up... so it won't turn on or charge... what do i do?
Who repaired the phone? I suggest taking it back to this repair facility. Since Apple replaces phones instead of repair, the repair facility would be the one to take care of your problem.

I got the Iphone screen protector put on and it was working perfectly before and after. BUT when I went to charge it due to low battery it won't charge or turn on. There is condensation within the camera lens. What is the problem?
The installers use water to get the air bubbles out of the film. Looks like they got a little heavy handed with yours. You warranty is now voided (there are moisture indicators in the phone). You will need the screen protector people to replace your phone.
Since they will likely decline, if you are in the US, threaten to file a claim on their insurance for damaging your property in thier control.
