If you've forgotten the passcode and it's now locked then you will need to connect the iPad to the computer that you normally sync to and you should then be able to reset the iPad and re-sync your content to it (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212) , and you may need to put the iPad into recovery mode : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808

When I try to install updates I get an error message " an unexpected error has occured" This involves: Epson Printer Software update 2.11; iTunes 10.6.3; Airport Utility 5.6.1; Remote Desktop Client Update andd Java for Mac OSX 10.6 Update 9. I also have purchased OS X Mountain Lion and have the same problem. Any suggestions?

While trying to download an app, even a free one, the download starts then a box pops up asking for verification of payment. I put in my credit card info but then it doesn't like my address info.? So I then try every variation of spelling and such. I can't make it happy, I never had a prob before .
Then I decided to try to redeem my iTunes money but a box come up , it has my account name there, and my remaining $. It all looks correct. But it asks for a code .??? I entered all the info when I got the card. Then threw the card away. I've bought items from this with no prob until now. ???
So I'm suppose to hang onto that carduntil I spend everything? Never did before, and it was working fine till now.
So here I sit . Pretty much clueless and starting to steam !

Have you tried restarting the printer? Reboot the iPad as well.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

The most common reason for this message is, the iPhone dock port needs to be cleaned, use a clean dry tooth brush. See if this helps. If you keep getting the message, then clean the dock port again very carefully with isopropyll alcohol, expecially the pins which are on top of the dock mid rib. I have an HP Officejet Pro 7580 similar to the 8600 you have and after upgrading to Mountain Lion it wouldn't work. HP support site said download updates for Mountain Lion from App Store not their site so I went to software update but there were NO UPDATES FOR 10.8. Tried a million things and could not get printer to work. So I restored back to Lion figuring at least printer worked then only now I can't get it to work with old settings either. I am sick to death of claims by Apple and peripheral manufacturers that everything is compatible all you have to do is get updates well in this case THERE ARE NONE TO BE GOT and I don't have time to **** about trying to find 'work arounds'. There shouldnt be a need for work-arounds. Unless the updates are ready DONT release the new OS. You shouldn't have to be an IT tech to make basic things like printing work. I see also the HP 8600 is even sold by appstore so there is no reason why it shouldn't work with minimum fuss.

The only people who can possibly assist you with this is Apple Customer Relations, call your local Apple contact number and ask for Customer Relations then explain your situation clearly and politely (be firm but don't rant).
You might want to investiage what the local laws are regarding defective goods and 'fit for use' definitions on warranties etc. Consumer Protection can be a useful tool to use or bargain with if needed ...

Correct. When you purchase devices, they would have stated the OS they needed to work, on the box. This can be overlooked, but it is very important to check when purchasing.
You current OS, is so old, that they technology build into the new devices, is not something your OS understands. It didn't exist when your OS was created, and therefore you need to upgrade the OS to work with the newer technology of these devices.
10.6 software is not downloadable. You must purchase a DVD disc. You can order it from the on-line apple store

I have Final Cut Studio V1 - the PPC/Intel V5/5.1 cross-grade version, which would suit your requirements perfectly. (I have it for sale at present down here).
If you keep looking, you're sure to find a similar second hand copy in your area, without the need to upgrade your graphics card.
I'd go for Final Cut Pro as above over any version of Express. FCP has the full version of LiveType - not the truncated version that was released later on.
