  • My iPad will not turn on any ideas?

I have tried holding down the home and ON buttons to re-boot
but nothing. When I plug it into the mains charger a get the white apple logo like it's starting up but then after 30 seconds or so the screen goes blank.
Go it pluged into my Mac via usb to see if that might help but nothing
    Any ideas anyone?
The iPad is the original one btw
    Best regards
    Phil

My iphone 3g did same thing- based on the fact that you said "it was origial" I have got to beleive you need new battery-however you can hook up to computer , before doing so plug ipad to power when starting up hold sleep/wake button for 10 secinds than hold home button for 10 without releasing either. You'll see a flash continue to hold no matter how long it takes until you see the hook up to computer via usb icon -now that you see that continue holding home button until itunes recognizes your ipad; click on ipad left pane devices-your ipad is in restore mode and youll get a message telling you that you have to restore before using i tunes, Click on help check for updates box appears click on check for updates. When it tells you your up to date click restore. It will either restore or give you a code in more info, follow that for next step-trning off firewall/sec'ty etc... good luck cgvelcro "chip"

  • My iPhone 4 is locked with the apple logo displayed it will not turn off - any ideas please

My iPhon4 is screen locked and will not turn off for me to start over. I have connected to iTunes and held down the button but to no effect. It does appear to be connected to I tunes because IT IS LISTING MY MUSIC. any ideas please

    Try Recovery Mode... http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
Note you'll lose everything since the last sync, thus the reason to sync often.

    My iPad wont turn on

    Hi bella,
Try a reset: Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Silver Apple appears. If it does, your in business. Just wait for it to finish resetting and the Home screen will display.

  • My iPad will not turn on at all any suggestions?

My iPad will not turn on at all, any suggestions??

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430

  • When tryed to run diagnostic test  windows blacked out then blue screen ipad will not turn on now

when I ran a diaganostic test windows blacked out and then the "blue screen of death"........and now my ipad will not turn on ......has anyone had this problem ?...if so...what now

Have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • My iPad will not turn on. I have tried to reset, with no results. I have also tried to restore from iTunes, but it could not recognize the iPad.

My third gen iPad will not turn on.
I tried to reset, and the apple icon appears, but it will not load.
I attempted to restore it through iTunes, but it could not recognize it.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Of course, it is out of warranty.

If that isn't it, have you tried to find/connect to a wifi in a public area, like a mall or cafe?

  • My ipad will not turn on/charge, itunes will not recognize ipad, has been charging for hours power and sleep button did not work

My ipad will not turn on/charge. has been charging for hours. Itunes will not recognize it and i have tried the power/sleep button as well. PLEASE HELP!

Please tell me that it has NEVER been jailbroke.  If it hasn't been, here are some standard repair procedures:
First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore (or it doesn't help), go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.  You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again.  Also, if you have IOS-7, read this.

My ipad will not turn on - I have shut it off many times, hooked it up to my computer and updated.  The screen appears a dark blue (almost black) when I push home button - I tried to slide to open it and it doesn't open.  What should I do?
