HT1430 Reply email placed in Outbox?

Hello -- Since two updates back (about two months?), it seems that ALL of my replies to messages with websites in them -- friends' or business websites in the signatures, for instance -- go straight into my 4s Outbox. The error message is 'A copy has been placed in your Outbox. Sending the message content to the server failed.'
It is then completely impossible to send the message until I cut and paste it into a new message, taking care to remove the website references from the original message...
It is a real pain. My primary server is Yahoo (btinternet yahoo). This problem does not occur with my other account, which is a work one, and which is also pushed to my 4s.
I have looked around a little and an old suggestion for this problem in general is to enter the username and password for the primary server. Unfortunately my primary server information is 'greyed out' -- I can't do anything with it at all. Help!
Should I create a sub account? Is my BT account somehow reacting badly? BUT: this does not happen on any other computer we own, either PC or Apple. It ONLY happens on my 4s.
Any thoughts gratefully received!

This occurs because either the SMTP server was set up incorrectly in your mail account settings or it doesn't work with mail sent via cell network (i.e. 3G).
How to solve this depends on your particlurar mail service and the settings you installed, which you did not describe at all.

  • Cannot send/reply email on Mac and iPhone

SOMETIMES I cannot send or reply emails on my Mac, not all the time though. Went to Apple Store where a Genius helped me reset my mail app but turning it off and back on again, it worked there and then but when I got home, I'm still getting the below same message when I try to send or reply sometimes:
"Connections to the server "p08-smtp.mail.me.com" on the default ports times out.
Select a different outgoing mail server from the list below or click Try Layer to leave the message in your Outbox until if can be sent."
This happens on my iPhone as well. Sometimes when I reply to someone's email it'd just sit in the Outbox for more then a day despite numerous attempts to resend. In the end I could only delete it from Outbox and send a new one again. I tried to find answers online without luck, can someone please help?
Note that if I send/reply on iCloud website, everything works perfectly!
    Many thanks!

  • Emails sitting in outbox

Emails sitting in outbox- message says "no password provided- go to mail account settings and enter password" however when I do this it then says server does not support password authentication!! It should not be this hard to send an email. I have checked settings a hundred times, is there a simple solution? Very frustrating! Thanks

possibly like me you don't use the pop3/x email a lot but want to send from time to time.
in "fetch', i've selected a "manual" fetch instead of at various time intervals and what's happening is sent emails go into the outbox until a "fetch" occurs, either at a time interval like my pc or when i do a manual fetch.
all sent emails go into the outbox until the fetch occurs and then, only will the mail be sent but you'll receive whatever's available into the inbox.
i find it easier to text to an email address than dink with this pop3 email.
to save downloading everything on the fetch, i check cox.mail or rr when i was in hawaii to see if i need to reply to something.
    hope this helps.

  • How can I save a reply email to drafts folder when using hotmail on my ipad2 with safari ??

It appears that the iPad mail app cannot push drafts so I can access them on a pc.     If there is a way to do this, I would like to know
If the above is not possible, I'd like to know how to save a reply email to the drafts folder when accessing hotmail on my iPad from safari.   I can't seem to find a button on the hotmail pag, or any help instructions anywhere.     I hav done this for years using a pc with Firefox or explorer with no problem.  This has to be so easy that it will seem like I asked q stupid Ustinov when I get the answer!

I am still waiting for an answer.    If you don't know the answer, but know who to ask or where to look to find an answer, I'd really appreciate it.

'Tools' > 'Account Settings' > 'Composition & Addressing' for the mail account
    * select 'Automatically quote the original message when replying'
    * select: then 'start my reply above the quote' or other option
    * select: and place my signature 'below my reply(above the quote) or other option
    * select 'Include signature for replies'
    * select: 'Include signature for forwards'
    * click on OK to save changes

  • What do I do when trying to send a reply email and it won't send because it doesn't allow relaying?

What do I do to be able to send a reply email when the response is it doesn't allow relaying?

Try this and see of you can get the reply to go through.
    http://appletoolbox.com/2012/01/server-does-not-allow-relaying-email-error-fix/
    How to fix
If this is an AOL issue, try these: go Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > select your AOL.com account > SMTP from the Account Info Page > SMTP from the SMPT Page > make sure that the Server is ON, make sure that the Host Name is smtp.aol.com. Further make sure your username and password are correct and added in the Outgoing Mail server; make sure that Authentication is set to Password and make sure that Server Port is 587
If this is not an AOL email: go Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Accounts >Account Info > SMPT> turn off primary server, turn on other (e.g. AT&T) SMTP server.
Go into Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Your Account > Outgoing mail Server SMTP > Primary Server then turn Server ON and fill in both User Name and Password under Outgoing Mail Server.

  • Images Do Not Display on Signature Reply Emails _ Outlook 2010 Professional

I created a company signature which display fine when sent, however when replying to an email the signature shows up with out any of the images.  There are simply blank squares where the images should be displaying.  Can anyone help me resolve
    why this would be happening?
*Would the device (i.e. iPad) one is viewing the email on be the reason for the issue?
    Thanks,
    Julia

    Hi
As per the information and details provided by you, outlook 2010 not showing image in signature during replying emails, to solve this problem please follow these steps:
You mentioned that you are using a device, i.e. iPad.
Mobile device supports only Plain Text and that’s why the signature image is not showing in your emails.
If your picture contains crucial information which you really want in your signature. You can
customize your Plain Text version of your signature to include that information in a typed form instead of as a picture.
HTML format is capable of displaying different kinds
of font style as well as graphics like a logo.
You can set the email format on the
Format Text tab of an email message window in Microsoft Outlook 2010.
I hope this information will be helpful for you.
    Thanks and regards

  • When I compose and send a mail, it gets placed in Outbox and I get a prompt stating something like "relating the message is not supported". Even if I compose a newest age, it says the vey same thing. I just cannot send any response through my mail account

When I compose and send a mail, it gets placed in Outbox and I get a prompt stating something like "relating the message is not supported". Even if I compose a newest age, it says the vey same thing. I just cannot send any response through my mail account. Can anyone help with a solution?

You haven't set up the SMTP (outgoing) mail server correctly. You probably didn't enter your user ID and password for the outgoing server. They are needed even though it says "optional".

  • Attach .pdf and .doc files to Reply emails.

I am desperately trying to figure out how to attach .pdf and .doc files to Reply emails in the Mail app. I have downloaded GoodReader, but when I go into "Manage Files" and choose "Open in...", Mail is not one of the apps listed for me to choose from (only Quickoffice and iBooks are listed, that's it). My Gmail account is pushed to the Mail app, if that's relevant at all.
I'm hoping to be able to attach documents to Reply emails in the Mail app, but if I have to do it using my web-based email, that's better than nothing. I just really need to be able to attach them to Replies, and not compose a new email from scratch.
I'd REALLY appreciate any help with this!
    Thanks.

I thought I might be able to figure out a clever work-around by using cut and paste from a new message but this did not work as expected. I have been using the MobileMe iDisk app to store pdf files and then just mailing out the links.  I believe my cut and paste method would have worked with this, however I've got about a year now to figure out another way to do this if it is not included in Apple's new cloud service. This has actually been a better as I need to worry less about file size and don't need to have the files stored on the device.
You may want to look into what on-line file storage solutions are out there and if they have the ability to send links to files to colleagues, possibly with password protection.

  • Images in reply emails

I've sent an email with my Mac to my sis with an image copy/pasted at the bottom, when she replied - and I read it on my iPhone - in the "Original Message" I could only see the text I wrote and not the attached image, is this normal on the iPhone? (I definitely can see both in the reply email on my Mac)
    Thanks for your help!

This happens with both Windows 7 and Windows Vista. The problem occurs when using my Hotmail and AT&T Yahoo email. I have heard it is a problem in Gmail and AOL as well. So it may be a Windows problem. I have tried a system restore and virus scans with no success. It is very frustrating!

  • How do I attach a pic to a reply email?

Trying to attach a picture to a reply email using iPad.  How can I do that?

Hi, For any of you who have been looking for ways to attach files when replying or forwarding a mail.
There is a new App available - Called "Email Reply".
    https://itunes.apple.com/US/app/id780069308?mt=8
It is pretty basic, but it supports POP and IMAP and major email accounts such as Google mail, Yahoo mail, Microsoft Hotmail, iCloud mails etc. For you company accounts, as long as you know your POP and IMAP settings, then it would work for you.
I tried attach several files in a email reply, and it worked just what many of you wished a iPad could do.
Another nice thing is that you could open multiple email accounts at once or open multiple attached files at once in a browser like user interface.
And it supports cloud, Wifi, Open in as well, so you could get files in and out easily.  I am a small business owner, it works for me well. I could manage all my email accounts in this App. I have a sense that this App would evolve over time.
Of course, you could read emails and save attachments with this App.

  • Photos didn't transfer with the new/reply email - how to recover them?

Was sent these fabulous photos and when my co-worker replied to him, the photos didn't transfer with the new/reply email, unfortunately she deleted the original email.  I found this info instead of the attached photos - any idea how I can open these or get back the photos without asking him to resend?
    Thanks!
