HT1430 Sending Email from phone

I am able to send mail from my iPhone to certain email accounts, but whenever I try and send an email from my phone to an sbcglobal.net email account, it comes back undeliverable? can anyone help me fix this problem?

Just like anything that uses data it depends on what you are sending and recieving...   If you you are sending a 50mb file them you know that you are at least using half a gig to send that file, each email is deturmained by its contents.  If you are sending just a text email it normally only users a few kb unless the email is a log message.

Why do I get the message net sign in failed when I try to send email from my phone? This just started about a week ago and I am unable to send email.

        Hello yinz!
Let's get those emails sending! When you get the message, does the device prompt you to sign in to your email? If so, does it give you a different error message? The same? What type of email is it? Are you able to send/receive if using the PC? One option is to uninstall, then reinstall the email account from your device. Please give that a try and keep me posted on the results.
    Thanks so much,

  • Name misspelled when sending email from phone.

When I send an email from my phone (e.g. a pic or video), my name is spelled wrong.  When I email from my phone using my yahoo account it is correct.  Where do I go to fix this?  I have already checked the spelling of my name in my Contacts list.

It does not get your name from your entry in the Contacts list.
    Go to:
Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> (your Yahoo! account) -> Account
Check the spelling in the "Name" entry.
    Good luck!

Does sending/receiving emails on my LG Enlighten use a lot of my small data pkg.?? I am sending from home.

  • Default email when sending email from phone!!

How do I change my email to send from a specific account rather than my Mobile Me account? i have my work account chosen as the default account but it is still not sending from that account. any ideas??

The default email account selection is when you are outside of the Mail client only.
If you are in your MobileMe account's Inbox or Sent mailbox when selecting new message, your MobileMe account is the default account used, and the same for your work account.

  • Iphone always CC me when i send email from phone

i have checked the box no that says always cc my self is there any reason i am still receiving the same email back to me

    I bet you're using Gmail.
Gmail puts your sent mail into your "inbox" - notice on the webmail interface how your "conversations" show your messages too? That's how they do it.
    It's Gmail's nature.

  • Cannot send email from yahoo account on iPhone 5

I just got an iPhone5 and I couldn't set up my Yahoo email as "yahoo"--it would not allow me to complete the process despot multiple attempts. I had to set it up as an "other" account. I can receive and read emails on my phone, but when I reply those messages will not send. They go to the outbox and an error message pops up that says" the email account has been rejected by the server" Does anyone have advice on either issue: setting up yahoo properly and/or sending email from phone?

    outgoing mail server
    SMTP - Yahoo! SMTP Server
    primary server
    Yahoo! SMTP server - ON
    server port 465
That's what I have for my yahoo account.

  • TS3276 I can receive emails, but I cannot send emails. This just started happening. I have an iPhone and I can send emails from my phone fine. It's just not working on my Macbook. Every time I try to send an email it goes straight to my outbox. Can anyone

I can receive emails, but I cannot send emails. This just started happening. I have an iPhone and I can send emails from my phone fine. It's just not working on my Macbook. Every time I try to send an email it goes straight to my outbox. Can anyone help?

Thank you for heading me in the right direction.  I reset my Mail account for Outgoing Mail Server to outbound.att.net:(customer ID)@att.net (instead of smtp.att.yahoo.com, per Apple's online troubleshooting information).   I'm not sure what "(Offline)" means when it appears at the end of my Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)??  In the Advanced box I clicked on "Use custom port:  465" and checked "Use Secure Sockets Layer."  Authentication:  Password; I have correct User Name and Password put in.  After doing all this, when I try to send emails again today, they go directly to the Outbox and sit there.
What's curious is that my first sent email this morning did go out using the Outgoing Mail Server, smtp.att.yahoo.com: (customer ID)@att.net(Offline) but subsequent emails I tried to send with this server were rejected with the message:  "Cannot send message using the server smtp.att.yahoo.com (etc.).  The SMTP server doesn't support TLS(SSL) on port 587.  Verify your account settings and try again."  That's when I tried resetting my Outgoing Mail Server to outbound.att.net (etc.), as mentioned above, and was unsuccessful in sending out any further emails.  I guess my next step is to contact my email service provider, AT&T, and see if they can help me.  Thanks, again, for taking the time to respond and for giving me your input!  Much appreciated!

  • Sending Email From Mobile Phone

So I have Postfix working great and I've always used webmail if I needed to send email from PC's outside of $mynetworks. So fast forward to today where I got my 1st Android powered mobile phone and I can configure the Android mail client to send/receive IMAP email but my question is do I need to become an open relay to allow my random wireless providers dynamic range of IP's to send mail via Postfix? Seems extremely vulnerable and scary to think I would have to allow my providers IP range to relay mail via my MTA. I started reading a bit and I think I need SASL authentication (correct me please if I'm wrong) and since both Postfix 2.8.1 & Dovecot 2.0.11 are configured / using TLS, is there anything else I would need beyond SASL or that you recommend for sending email from my Android powered mobile?

I'm in the same boat, except that I don't have a smartphone yet - but I'm already outlining the changes to my soho-network.
I guess you have to secure the mailserver (using SSL + TLS looks ok to me) and also secure the server as a whole: configure iptables to lock it down completely, except for as little ports as necessary: IMAPS and SMTPS, maybe even on an other-than-default port...
Maybe you are also interested in syncing your calendar: I will be doing that with davical on my server (running for 2 years now) and acal on my Android smartphone: no syncing, but native caldav between server and smartphone...
The other option would be to install openvpn on your server and always work via your VPN.

  • HT201401 i have been able to send photos from phone to email until recently, why not now?

Why can I not send photos from phone to an email address? I could until recently.

I really do not think it is the iPad or your network connection. Other users have reported this very same issue. Try this and see if it works for you - it may not work - but it's easy to try - harmless - and it has worked in the past for others.
Try signing out of your account and restart your iPad.
Go to Settings>Store>Apple ID and tap the ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button. Go back to Settings>Store> Apple ID and sign in again.

  • I can't send emails from my phone when I'm abroad. How can I change that?

I can't send emails from my phone when I'm abroad. How can I change that?

try to log into your email from another mobile or device and see if you can, or log out of your email on your phone and log back in see if it works

In the wee hours of the night I had an idea and downloaded OSX again and that seems to have fixed my problem. I wish I'd thought of that last week!

  • HT1430 Cannot send email from iPhone 4S ..it keeps saying smpt password is incorrect but it is correct and I receive email no problem

Cannot send email from iPhone...keeps saying smpt password is incorrect but it is correct.. I recieve email no problem

On my own, I discovered the following, which worked (one responder got the solution part correct for Google): For Yahoo, where I just use a standard login with no extra verification, I had to go into Yahoo and change my password. Once I did this, the new iPhone had no problem registering accepting my Yahoo account. I WAS, however, using the correct password and user name all along, for those who did not think that was the case. The problem is on the iPhone software side. For Google, I use a two step verification, and for that, one must go to Google Mail and obtain a specific, unique password, that is designed to work only on iPhones. Hope this helps anyone else with this dilemma.
