HT1430 tried resetting and powering off..saying we need to connect to iTunes
Tried resetting my sons Ipod Touch and by resetting and powering off. When powering back on, tells me to connect to iTunes?

Inspect the charging port area for dirt/debris/fluff build-up that may be preventing a good connection and use a wooden toothpick, soft clean toothbrush, or a can of compressed air to clean it. Also look for bent or broken pins. Try another cable and/or charger block (be sure to always use a genuine Apple certified brand) in a known good outlet. If you're using a USB port, try another port. After it restores it will walk through a setup.
It will ask you if you want to setup as a new device, from an iCloud backup or from an iTunes backup. Choose iCloud backup and then it will ask you to sign in to your iCloud account. It will restore and reboot. The you will be good.

It's possible the Internet connection through Verizon is not stable enough for the downlaod to begin (it is a very large download).
You might want to head over to Starbucks with your laptop for the afternoon and see if you can download it over their WiFi. -

You should be able to reconnect to iTunes and then you should see an option to restore to your ipad from your last back up in iTunes.

Forgotten Restrictions Passcode Help
You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.
