I have a mac, ipad, iphone at 'home' all sharing music. I have installed itunes on my PC at work. How can I get my music library available on the work PC?

As roaminggnome says, or subscribe to Match. Home Sharing only works over your local network, not the Internet.

I had the similar problem last night and found a solution (although it takes more than a few clicks). Highlight all the album tracks in itunes on the pc and right click "get info". Check the artwork box in this window. I found that the now playing art was showing up in the itunes window, but on songs that were missing artwork showed nothing in the get info box. When I replaced the artwork by using the artwork command, or manually adding it into the "get info" window. It was annoying but my iphone updated every album.

Launch iTunes use the File -> Library -> Organize Library -> Reorganize Library menu option. Then quit and relaunch iPhoto.

After My hard drive crashed and burned it was replaced with a new Hard drive. I restored my itunes folder from my external back up drive. when I go into itunes all of my music appears and most of it plays. However, my older purchases will only play a few bars of music and then it skips to the next song. There are no error messages or "!" to indicate what is happening. I've deauthorized both of my computers and reauthorized the one with the new drive, but no improvement. How can I fix this?

Try:

You will need to use third-party software to transfer music from your phone to the iTunes Library. I recommend Phone to Mac - Pod to Mac | Macroplant.com.

Since we downloaded the latest version of iOS on our iPad and iPhone, and synchronized our music collection in the Cloud, we can no longer see on our iPad and iPhone the music from our CD's that we have on our home computer's iTunes library. Old computer died - can only get recently purchased music on ipod nano

My old laptop packed in suddenly, had no back up, my fault. I downloaded itunes on my new laptop and was happy to see that although cd's I had put on my old computer were gone, I still had music which I had purchased from itunes. However, when plugging my ipod nano in (2nd generation), the only music which it gives me the option of putting on is music which I have recently purchased, using my new laptop.
On looking at a few other forums I thought I should restore my nano and then maybe I could transfer all music, not just the new items, but no. Still only comes up with the 28 songs…even though in my itunes library I have several more. So now I have next to no music as everything got deleted when I restored the nano. I have clicked the “sync music” and “entire music library” to no avail. Still only the recent songs. Please help me. I know I’ll have to put my cds back on (and will back up this time)..but surely I should be able to get the music I have already paid for through itunes?
Any help appreciated, hope this is enough info,

Answer: Yes. When you first connect iPod to your computer, iPod recognizes that computer as its "home" computer. Each time you connect, iPod automatically downloads the music library stored on it. When you connect iPod to a different computer, iTunes will inform you that iPod is linked to a different iTunes library and will ask whether you wish to erase iPod's contents and sync with the new computer's library. If you will be connecting to multiple computers frequently, configure your iPod to manually manage music. This will allow you to selectively drag songs, albums, or playlists from the second computer to your iPod without compromising the existing music.
Synchronization generally occurs only in one direction, from your computer to your iPod. This means you typically cannot transfer music, automatically or manually, from your iPod to a computer, and you cannot use iPod to copy a music library from one computer to another. Welcome to the world of digital media. Your can't really transfer it. I don't know what the rules are about transferring to your spouse but I do know that in some cases when you die, your heirs cannot inherit your digital media. This is why there is still an advantage to buying the CD since the usage rights belong to whomever holds the physical media.
A possible workaround is to burn the songs to a music CD with yout account (tracks only without song titles) and then having your wife upload it as a regular music CD onto her account. It's been a while since i've done this so I'm not sure if it would work now.
Please note that I'm not advocating copyright and/or TOS violations. I'm only suggesting ways to copy music for your own personal use which has traditonally been permitted. I only did this because I wanted to convert iTunes songs to mp3 files so I could burn them onto a data CD for use in my car. It would make sense that since married couples are a joint entity, this would be personal use.
Also, I'm not a lawyer so don't take this as legal advice.

Iphone are meant to be sync to one itunes library only.
You can copy those songs to a cd and then put a copy to your itunes media library.

The loading of audio files to iPod is designed to go one way only: computer to iPod. There are some third-party applications available which will rescue an audio library and write the files back to a PC HDD. The playlists might not copy, nor the album art work, nor videos but you might be able to recover all audio files. Some apps are open source and available for free download, for example: Senuti, Onyx. There are others which are Windows-based; do a Google search to find out.

connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
