HT1451 Playlists in the "new" iTunes

How the F do I move a playlist from the "new" iTunes to my iPod? (I can't believe I have to ask this. Whose genius idea was it to "improve upon" the old iTunes that worked perfectly fine?)

Sync them same as always or manually manage:

    Vera,
Use View > View Options, and set 'Sort By" to "Manual Order."
Then you will be able to drag-n-drop songs up and down the list.

  • How do you print a playlist with the new itunes?

How do you print a playlist with the new itunes????

You can click on the little triangle that's next to the little box at the top left of the new iTunes. It will give you a drop down box which gives you several selections. One of the selections is "Show Menu Bar". Click on that and you get the bar back that was on the previous version. Then in "file" you can print a CD jewel case list just like before!

  • Why can't I export playlists from the new itunes to my iphone4s?

just downloaded the new itunes and can't transfer my playlists to my iphone, am I missing something here?

Not really sure but go to settings/itunes & app store on you phone and make sure you are logged in there with your Apple ID

  • How do I manage playlists with the new iTunes on PC?

What is up with this new interface?  I can find no provision for deleting playlists, removing items from playlists, creating new playlists, etc.  Where are all the functions for managing playlists?  No + marks, no menu items, right click does not include "delete" or "add", dragging does not work, etc.
It was bad enough when they moved playlists off into their own interface, now even that has disappeared!

Oh, good grief!  Talk about counter-intuitive!
There is only one way to access the new playlist functions, by clicking on the music note icon at the very top left corner.  Clicking on the iPod icon does not work, clicking on a playlist title does not work, clicking on music note icon in the media list does not work, etc.
    F- for interface design.

I guess I will need to reinstall itunes again - but if I do this will, I lose all the music that I have bought or imported into my library? How do I reinstall my library/playlists to the new itunes?
    Thanks

Make a backup of your media and other important files.
Just to be safe, make a backup of your entire iTunes directory.
Restore computer or do whatever it is you need to do.
Restore your media and other important documents.
    Install iTunes.
Try using search next time... this gets asked way too frequently.

  • "Naming" new iPod Touch in the new iTunes

Trying to find a way to rename my new iPod Touch 5 in the new iTunes,(which I don't like much, BTW).
Can't find a clickkable list name, as before. Since I have 3 iPod Touch 64G's, having them all be identified as the same object,(in my list, anyway), is problematic.
Anybody know the path to change the name?
Used to be as simple as changing the name of a playlist.
The new iTunes just doesn't seem as personally configurable as the previous version....or maybe it is, but I'm just not finding the pathways to do that as readily.
Thanks for any replies that will help with this!

    Never Mind.....
Can't name it while it's syncing.
Once the sync is complete you can click on it just like before and rename.
Just needed to wait for the sync to complete.
(I still like the previous version of iTunes better....)
    So, that was easy enough.
    YAY!

  • I just upgraded to the new iTunes and now my playlists are jumbled when I print them.

  • How can I see on the new itunes how many gigs a playlist is?

On the new Itunes I can't seem to see how many gigs a playlist is without trying to add it to my device.. it is extremely annoying and it makes it very difficult to build effective play lists.

Either CTRL+/, or View > Show Status Bar.
Either of those will bring back the line of information along the bottom, including duration and size.

  • I lost all my playlists when downloading the new itunes. Anyway to get them back?

I lost all my playlists when downloading the new itunes. Besides honestly wanting to cry, is there anyway to get them back without making them all AGAIN? And thanks so much, stupid Apple. Am looking for a new MP3 player to take your stupid ipod player's place. I used to love my ipod...now everytime I turn around, apple has screwed with something that causes ME time and trouble.

To ease use of the new iTunes these tips will revert it back to the iTunes 10 look and feel
    View > Show Sidebar
    View > Show Status Bar
Click on Black arrow in the search box and untick Search Entire Library
Your playlists should show up in the Left Hand panel beneath Devices

  • Where are the local radio playlists/charts in the new iTunes 7.0.1.8?

Q: Where are the local radio playlists/charts in the new iTunes 7.0.1.8? I like to see what the local radio stations and surrounding markets are playing. I used this feature all the time in iTunes 6.
    A. I just found the answer, but I'll post this anyway. The "Radio" link was moved from the iTunes store home page. From the iTunes Store homepage you have to click on "Music" in the "iTunes Store" box. Then, go to the "More In Music" box and click on "Radio."

  • How do you update playlists on your iPod with the new iTunes?

With the new iTunes, I can't seem to be able to update playlists on my iPhone device when plugging it in. I can add songs to the playlist and can add songs to my device. However after adding songs to a playlist, I can not update that playlist on my device with the new iTunes. You used to be able to just drag a playlist to the device and update it, but you no longer can. Can someone please tell how to go about updating playlists on devices using the new iTunes.

Do you mean remove them from the iPod or transfer them back to your computer? You can't transfer photo's back to the computer with iTunes. To retrieve photos from an iPod try:
    iPodPhotoCopy Windows only
    CopyPodPhoto Windows only
iPod Photo Liberator Mac & Windows
To remove individual photos from an iPod you delete or remove the photo from the folder that you linked to when you set the preference "synch photos from" and update the iPod. For example, if the iPod is getting the pictures from the folder "My Pictures," delete or remove them from My Pictures.

  • Why are my old playlists are gone with the new iTunes?

I think I know how to navigate the new iTunes interface now, but I cannot find the unique playlists I made of songs in my library. All the albums I made are there, but not "And Yet Another Oldies but Goodies" and those like it. What happened? Can I find them? How?

    Dunno.
    How is it not working?

  • How do you burn a playlist using the new version  of itunes if no provision is made unlike previous versions. have thaey ( Programmers made a mistake)

Downloaded latest version of itunes. Noticed that there is no provision to burn a playlist to CD under the file menu as in past versions. Although the help menu still references this function. Is this an oversight ?
Also noticed that the  new  itune program which interfaces with the iphone 5 , will only play videos bought through itune store. Where previous versions would play any video, or have I got wrong??
Any help would be appreciated .
    Thanks

Someone gave me the Mac Format magazine (Jan 2013), which contained a complete guide to iTunes 11.
One section was "Get the old look back".  It stated that it was possible to tweak the interface to get the old look back by:-
    1.  Be on Music view and select Songs tab at top of window.
    2.  Click on the View menu.  (Mine was hidden, but if you click on the dropdown arrow in the top left-hand corner the option is there to show the Menu Bar).
    3.  Click on Show Sidebar, then click on Show Status Bar.
This should make iTunes look like the old version.
    Hope this helps others :-)
    Slightly happier Apple!
