i am pulling my hair out, i have an iphone 4s and ipad 2 and 3 in fact in this house i think we own them all.i have bought a new belkin composite lead to plug into tv, but nothink will work, no pads, pods or phones, i have even tryed with apple leads, what am i doing wrong, i just want to get video out, very simple on any other phone.if some one can help it would save me from getting the hammer out and another trip to the phone shop to buy a non i product

im running ios 6.1.3 but have been having this problem for a while at least 2 earlier versions.I have an iphone 4s as do 2 of my work colleagues one running on the same as me and the other slightly earlier but not sure. I have a docking device that has an av out and also an iphone adater to composite av.and also vuzix wrap that supports iphone My phone doesnt work with any and i can recall starting to have problems first with the docking device which became temperamental and then wouldnt work at all.both my mates phones work with it and the glasses.My kids ipad 2s work with the composite lead and the glasses- dont fit the dock obviously ,my iphone 3 runs on all.i can only think that at some point the internals of my iphone 4s may have become damaged hence the intermittant problems with the dock at first ,and maybe its the 30 pin plug could it be that whichever of the pins carry the av signal have become damaged in some way posible dampness ,but im going to have it changed as it seems like a likey possibility.I can say one thing it was nothing to do with the software version ,nor any other device or lead.Also what i thought might be the internal 30 pin plug is i dont get a message l anymore saying the "accessory is not compatible with this iphone"therefore i dont think the phone knows theres a plug in so for the av out pins anyway as it charges up fine

I have both Apple 30 pin component and a composite cables. I also have IPhone 5 and a Lightning-to-30 pin adapter. What accessory shall I buy to arrange TV out from my IPhone on my TV. My TV does not have HDMI nor WiFi. Thanks

A little while ago Apple changed the way the video out functions. Once upon a time, just connecting the AV cable from the phone to the TV ported the pictures and movies directly. Now it only works if the application ports the audio and video out, a function no longer handled in the system files, according to the Apple store tech today.
It all depends on whether or not the app developer built in a TV out function. Most of them don't have this functionality. I used to use presentation software for business from my phone, to a projector or large screen TV. That no longer works. I used to be able to flip through my photo album and see all that on the TV screen, the audience could tell me which photo they wanted to view, click on that one and it fills the screen, go back to the albums, flip through about 500 photos on phone, all that was visible on the TV for the whole room to see. Can't do that any more. Now the only way you can view photos on the TV is to use their "slideshow" app, which doesn't allow any flexibility, or flipping through pictures. If you try to advance the slides manually you get kicked out of "slideshow" and the TV screen goes blank. Until Apple reverses this "development" there's no work-around available. Someone has to develop an app that will allow this functionality and include a TV out functionality in the app.
BTW, the app store tech said that the only way to mirror the screen of the iPhone on the TV is to buy the Apple TV box, which now has that mirror function. So, now for my business I will have to lug that box and a huge TV around with me everywhere I go to do my presentations! Sweet!

I am very disappointed at Apple's service, especially considering that I have been a loyal customer of iphone / ipod touch in the past few years. I need an official reply from Apple on this! How can Apple be so irresponsible to their own firmware failure??

Thank you so much for providing the details about the duplicate song issue you are experiencing. It sounds like you would like to remove the duplicate songs that will not play on your iPhone, but when you connect it to iTunes, iTunes only shows you one copy of the song on your iPhone.
In this situation, I recommend deleting the individual songs that do not play directly from your iPhone. I found the steps to do this on page 61 of the iPhone User Guide (http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf):
Delete a song from iPhone: In Songs, swipe the song, then tap Delete.

It could be that someone has accessed your AppleID/iCloud account with out authorization. Or it could be that you forgot to remove find my iPhone form a phone that your previously owned.
Change your Apple ID password.

My iphone 4 conked out.it was not receiving signal so I switched on and off. But instead of taking me to the apps page it showed ios6 and asked me to go to itunes for an update.instead of updating it asked me to restore settings.now only logo appears

Did you do the update via iTunes?
If you are only getting the logo will want to try to see if can get device in recovery mode and try the restore process via iTunes again.
If you are still unable to get the device to restore will need a repair

The only way you can do that is to import them into your library first, but you may have done that already.
The easiest way to tell is to select a photo from the photostream album in iPhoto and ctrl-click on it, if it gives you the option to import it isn't in your iPhoto library, if it offers you the option to show in library it has already been imorted.

It is not practicale to do this always any one faces the same problem

There may be a problem with the SIM card. Get a new SIM card from your carrier - there should be no charge for a replacement.
If no change with a new SIM card, the standard troubleshooting steps in order are:
Power your iPhone off and on.
An iPhone reset, which is done by pressing and holding the home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release.
Restore your iPhone with iTunes from your iPhone's backup.
Restore your iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup.
If no change after any of these steps in order, your iPhone has a hardware problem.

The sound on my iPhone 4S cuts out when playing music/podcasts.

The sound on my iPhone 4S cuts out when playing music/podcasts. If I unplug and replug in the headphones, the sound comes back on, but often for only 20 seconds or so before cutting out again. Sometimes it will play for 15-20minutes before cutting out. The track is not "paused", and appears to continue, just no sound. I tried cleaning the headphone jack with compressed air to no avail. I also noticed the the same phenomenon occurs when I sync my bluetooth to my car audio. That is, it will play for a while, then the sound will cut out, even though the track is still shown to be playing. If I reset the bluetooth, the sound comes back on.
This started happening about a week ago, but no "event" that I can think of caused it. I didnt' get the phone wet, forcefully drop it, or leave it in extreme heat. I've tried doing a reset of the phone. I also was running iOS5 when I first noticed this, and since upgraded to iOS6. The problem appeared with both.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

One thing that helped was getting a toothbrush and scrubbing the dock connector on the phone. I scrubbed the connector and used compressed air for about 1/2 hour till the connector looked much cleaner. An Apple employee told me that the pins on the phone had a little corrosion and sand. The problem hasn't gone away completely, but has been significantly reduced. I'm going to hold out until my contract expires after which time I'll switch to an iPhone5 (or newer) or Android phone.

Next time make regular backups of your computer. The iPhone is not a backup device, and I'm sure you lost more than your iTunes library. See this user tip for your options: Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive
