HT1454 iPhone 5 TV Out no HDMI

I have both Apple 30 pin component and a composite cables. I also have IPhone 5 and a Lightning-to-30 pin adapter. What accessory shall I buy to arrange TV out from my IPhone on my TV. My TV does not have HDMI nor WiFi. Thanks

A little while ago Apple changed the way the video out functions. Once upon a time, just connecting the AV cable from the phone to the TV ported the pictures and movies directly. Now it only works if the application ports the audio and video out, a function no longer handled in the system files, according to the Apple store tech today.
It all depends on whether or not the app developer built in a TV out function. Most of them don't have this functionality. I used to use presentation software for business from my phone, to a projector or large screen TV. That no longer works. I used to be able to flip through my photo album and see all that on the TV screen, the audience could tell me which photo they wanted to view, click on that one and it fills the screen, go back to the albums, flip through about 500 photos on phone, all that was visible on the TV for the whole room to see. Can't do that any more. Now the only way you can view photos on the TV is to use their "slideshow" app, which doesn't allow any flexibility, or flipping through pictures. If you try to advance the slides manually you get kicked out of "slideshow" and the TV screen goes blank. Until Apple reverses this "development" there's no work-around available. Someone has to develop an app that will allow this functionality and include a TV out functionality in the app.
BTW, the app store tech said that the only way to mirror the screen of the iPhone on the TV is to buy the Apple TV box, which now has that mirror function. So, now for my business I will have to lug that box and a huge TV around with me everywhere I go to do my presentations! Sweet!

I have an iPhone 4s with ios 6.0. I recently bought the apple composite AV cable from an apply store. Unfortunate when I connect it to my tv all I get is sound. I've search for tv out settings but I can't seem to find them. Any suggestions?

im running ios 6.1.3 but have been having this problem for a while at least 2 earlier versions.I have an iphone 4s as do 2 of my work colleagues one running on the same as me and the other slightly earlier but not sure. I have a docking device that has an av out and also an iphone adater to composite av.and also vuzix wrap that supports iphone My phone doesnt work with any and i can recall starting to have problems first with the docking device which became temperamental and then wouldnt work at all.both my mates phones work with it and the glasses.My kids ipad 2s work with the composite lead and the glasses- dont fit the dock obviously ,my iphone 3 runs on all.i can only think that at some point the internals of my iphone 4s may have become damaged hence the intermittant problems with the dock at first ,and maybe its the 30 pin plug could it be that whichever of the pins carry the av signal have become damaged in some way posible dampness ,but im going to have it changed as it seems like a likey possibility.I can say one thing it was nothing to do with the software version ,nor any other device or lead.Also what i thought might be the internal 30 pin plug is i dont get a message l anymore saying the "accessory is not compatible with this iphone"therefore i dont think the phone knows theres a plug in so for the av out pins anyway as it charges up fine

i am pulling my hair out, i have an iphone 4s and ipad 2 and 3 in fact in this house i think we own them all.i have bought a new belkin composite lead to plug into tv, but nothink will work, no pads, pods or phones, i have even tryed with apple leads, what am i doing wrong, i just want to get video out, very simple on any other phone.if some one can help it would save me from getting the hammer out and another trip to the phone shop to buy a non i product

Will there be Future iPhone 5 "Ipod Out" support? Adapter perhaps?

I have pre-ordered an iPhone 5, but I' have realised that it wont work with my car head unit - which cost nearly £2000 and was bought specifically to control, and display song information from my iPhone.
It has been absolutely brilliant. Being able to control tracks from my steering wheel, seeing the artwork on the screen and the track name and artist. It made people go "wow".
Unfortunately, the Ipod Out feature that allows control of the iphone from the steering wheel appears not to be supported due to the new lightning connector, nor does the 30pin adapter correct this.
I am now faced with the odd possiblity of having to sell my iPhone 5 when I get it, and go back to a 4S, as it literally is the most important way, as a huge fan of music whilst driving, in which I use my iPhone day to day.
I really really hope that Apple have a way to add "Ipod Out" support to the iPhone 5, so that it can again be controlled via a car's steering wheel.
Cutting out a feature that helps prevent distractions, accidents, even deaths is wrong.
I will happily pay whatever Apple wants for the adapter in future, but I need to know its possible, otherwise I will have to go back to a 4S, as I cant be rooting in my glovebox to change iphone tracks.
Does anyone know if Apple will be creating a future adapter that supports iPod Out, to bring safety back to the millions of cars that currently can control iphones and ipods through the steering wheel?
It is an offence in the United Kingdom to interact with a mobile device in a car, even if its texting, or changing ipod tracks. For UK iPhone owners - Ipod Out is a legal requirement to use the ipod in the car. Please Apple, dont go backwards on car safety, I plead with you!

From that I can only assume that the CONNECTOR does support iPod out, just not the adapter.
I currently have a Pioneer AVIC-Z130bt and have the same issue at hand.
So the real question is, how soon will pioneer be able to research and engineer a cable that goes from the lightning port to our radios?
Also, I wonder, if I were to take the lightning cable that came with the iphone, plug it into the usb port that the iphone cable plugs into, then take a male-male headphone cable and plug it into the other female cable attached, would THAT work? Just wondering... I doubt it, but what if...

Was just on the phone with Apple about this.
The solution was as follows for me anyway...
Go to your Finder
Choose the Go Menu
Choose Computer
Choose your Macintosh Hard Drive
Choose your "Library" Folder
Choose the "Preferences" Folder
There should be a folder called "Audio"
Move that whole folder to the trash
Empty the Trash
Restart from the Apple Menu
When you are back up and running;
     Choose System Preferences from the Apple Menu
     Choose Sound
      In the output tab you should now be able to make the HDMI "Sticky"
      Enjoy your sound over HDMI and no more dirty knees or broken backs unplugging the desktop speakers!

Similar issue; Audio was working fine on Lion, now not on Mountain Lion. Have a Macbook Pro early 2011 with AMD Radeon HD 6750M, connected by thunderbolt through a Lacie LBD to a mini-displayport to HDMI adapter (n.b. same problem when not going through the LBD) to a Pioneer VSX 521 AV receiver. For me when I go into audio Midi settings all the volume sliders for the displayport device are greyed out and at zero. But when I click 'configure speakers', it's able to send out the test signals to each speaker. Part of the problem could be that I'm not getting the option to put out 6channel sound, only 2 or 8 channel. Since my system is Dolby 5.1, and I only have 6 speakers, I would have expected the 6ch option to be available. But I imagine there's more to it than that. Elsewhere someone has suggested playing with Remote Interactive over HD on an Onkyo device; I'll see if there's something similar on the Pioneer that can be changed. Any other suggestions welcome.

Thank you so much for providing the details about the duplicate song issue you are experiencing. It sounds like you would like to remove the duplicate songs that will not play on your iPhone, but when you connect it to iTunes, iTunes only shows you one copy of the song on your iPhone.
In this situation, I recommend deleting the individual songs that do not play directly from your iPhone. I found the steps to do this on page 61 of the iPhone User Guide (http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf):
Delete a song from iPhone: In Songs, swipe the song, then tap Delete.

It could be that someone has accessed your AppleID/iCloud account with out authorization. Or it could be that you forgot to remove find my iPhone form a phone that your previously owned.
Change your Apple ID password.

My iphone 4 conked out.it was not receiving signal so I switched on and off. But instead of taking me to the apps page it showed ios6 and asked me to go to itunes for an update.instead of updating it asked me to restore settings.now only logo appears

Did you do the update via iTunes?
If you are only getting the logo will want to try to see if can get device in recovery mode and try the restore process via iTunes again.
If you are still unable to get the device to restore will need a repair
Out of Warranty will cost

The only way you can do that is to import them into your library first, but you may have done that already.
The easiest way to tell is to select a photo from the photostream album in iPhoto and ctrl-click on it, if it gives you the option to import it isn't in your iPhoto library, if it offers you the option to show in library it has already been imorted.

It is not practicale to do this always any one faces the same problem

There may be a problem with the SIM card. Get a new SIM card from your carrier - there should be no charge for a replacement.
If no change with a new SIM card, the standard troubleshooting steps in order are:
Power your iPhone off and on.
An iPhone reset, which is done by pressing and holding the home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release.
Restore your iPhone with iTunes from your iPhone's backup.
Restore your iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup.
If no change after any of these steps in order, your iPhone has a hardware problem.
