  • Searching for the ultimate iPod Protection

Can anyone provide me websites with iPod cases that provide protection as well as versitility? Seems like there's not much available at this point for the iPod Video.
I want to wear my iPod on an arm band at the gym, so I need a case with a place to slide a strap through in the back.
Looking for a good alternative. Website links appreciated. Has anyone found any nice all in one cases that you can use for your iPod and power cords?
    Thanks,
    Danielle

For armbands there are not too many options available yet. DLO and Speck have some that should be available soon.
    www.dlo.com and www.speckproducts.com
For a case that will hold cords also the isnug is a nice case. Offers good protection and has room for accessories also.

  • Isnt there a way to search for where your ipod is?

i lost my ipod and i did remember setting up something on itunes that said it can search for my ipod? i dont know how to turn it on though....

    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod and wifi is on and connect go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. You can also wipe it and have it play a sound. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
    - Apple will do nothing
Reporting a lost or stolen Apple product
If the iPod is off or not connected to the internet yo will have to find it the old fashioned way, like if you lost your wallet.

  • Protective cap for power cord

    Hi everyone-
I've lost the protective cap for the power cord, does anyone know where I can find some replacement ones?
    Thanks
    Aimee

You may be able to find one at an Apple Authorized Service Provider:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1434
They may have a few laying around. I used to make it a point to hold on to them with my first MacBook back in 2006. To be honest, I lost it shortly there after and I've never been very concerned about them with the few machines I've had since then. Unless you're keeping the charger in a very dirty environment or find that you're prone to spilling things... you shouldn't have any problems.

  • Where can i get a replacement woofer for an ipodhifi ipod dock speaker model a1121)

where can i get a replacement woofer for an ipodhifi model a1121

Some items come up in a search for Mac parts UK; whether or not they have
an exact part match for any vintage product has not been searched...
Most that I have looked into, show any battery "out of stock" &/or listed "used."
A good electronics shop with an understanding of how these batteries are wired
in their case (and any controller chip circuitry) should be able to install new cells
inside the case; however opening these may present a problem if done forcefully.

    http://www.theappleshack.co.uk/
In the US, wegenermedia.com, powerbookmedic.com, & others may know of stock.
So far, I'd struck out searching; could be one may need to contact long standing
Apple specialists & those who repair vintage models, to get refurbished batteries.
Perhaps there is a message board or User Group site where one could try & contact
Apple users; of those some may know of a source, or an individual capable of repair
since these battery units have been refurbished before with new rechargeable cells.
Sorry to not be of exact help in this matter.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • Still no "spotlight" search for first 5G iPod?

Any news about it? The iTunes 7.0.2 update did not add it. It's such an upsetting thing...

"The new software features will not be available for the older 5G iPods."
    "New iPod software features
Now quickly find the songs, podcasts, or audiobooks you want to hear with the new search feature. And listen to music seamlessly with automatic gapless playback."
    Hope this helps

  • Power Cord for Italy/Europe?

Hi folks. I have the 85w AC adapter with the power cord for the US.
I realize I can get an adapter for the plugs in Italy, but I was wondering if I could order the AC cord that goes from the wall to the adapter.
Basically I'm looking for the Euro version of 922-5463 AC Adapter Power Cord.
This isn't a huge priority, since I have the world travel kit and a set of adapters, but I figure since I'll be travelling alot (if I get the job) it might be a good idea to have the native cord rather than constantly use adapters.
I'd also like to keep the machine grounded as often as possible. The travel set doesn't appear to support grounding.

Nevermind, I found what I needed on eBay.
I went to eBay's Italian portal and searched for AC cord un the Apple section.

  • Power cord nowhere to be found.

Fried my second 80 dollar cord last weekend and have spent the whole week searching for a cord. I drove to the apple store, where they sent me to Comp USA, (where I had to drive back to three times returning the things that they sold me)
Mac mall overnighted me a off brand power adapter that worked for 2 days.
Apple is saying 4 weeks, for a power cord?? Why in the world am I paying top dollar for the best computers? I am in the middle of a big job that I can not do because my computer wont turn on and all the files are in it.
When they finally do get in, I will plunk down my 80 dollars for a power supply, but it will be to late to save this job. What can I do? Now mac mall is even out of the two day 60 dollar cord.
I need to start seeing some loyalty back to me from mac.
4 macs, 4 ipods    Kids- beige G3, G4 Imac, Husband- 15 inch MacBook Pro and G5 tower at the office, Me-15 inch Powerbook

Yes, I have read all of that, which is why we started out with 2 cords.
My question is why it will take 4 weeks to get a new cord. I have bought 3 of the third party cords this week. 2 did nothing, and one worked for 2 days. All of them looked cheap. I was just blown away when I drove to the apple store and they sent me to Comp USA.
This computer was very expensive- and the 2 cords that I have gone through were very expensive. Apple should be giving us free replacement cords- or at the very least- keep them in stock so that we can buy them.

  • Touchsmart power cord problem

I've been having issues with my power cord staying connected. I received the recalled potion of power cord, but it's not the part I'm having the problem with. I have searched for replacement cords, but have been unable to find the right one. I need the portion of cord that connects to back of PC and has a black box at the other end. What is the actual name for this piece of the cord and any suggestions on where I can get a replacement?? Thanks!!

  • Installing second drive - where is the power cord?

    Hello,
I am trying to install a second drive on my Quad. I see the data jumper but don't see a jumper for the power. Am I missing something?
    Thanks, Gary

Actually solved this one myself . After searching and searching for the cord under the drive bay (convinced it was missing) I looked ABOVE the and saw that there is a second power connector attached the drive in the upper bay. You have unplug that connector, drop it down to the bottom drive and plug the second connector into the drive in the upper bay.
    All is now well.

  • How to search for music in "my music"??

    Hi Folks,
how can I search for a track or artist in my music? Can only search te stupid store but what about my own music??
    Thanks in advance,
    paranoja

Yeah I think it should have search too.. but what are you going to do? You can leave feedback on the appleTV support site... that's the plce for that.
Although of kinds ***** that appleTV doesn't have search for music but iPod touch as a remote is very cool.. It's over WiFi so you can be anywhere to control it.
if you are just playing music you do not need your tv on.. it just connects to the appleTV sees its content and displays it on the iPod. If your TV is on you'll see it doesn't drive the appleTV interface at all. goes directly to whatever you click on on the iPod movies or music. You can also remote control iTunes if you want to use airTunes from your computer.
Unfortunately you can't stream to the iPod.. it's rumored to be a coming feature.. not just when you are connected directly to your network but wherever you are.. not right now though.

  • Best setup for a prewired ethernet home

    Hello,
This has probably been addressed at some point but I cannot find the best combination to search for it.  My home was prewired throughout with ethernet cables.  They all come back to a box in a closet where AT&T Uverse has service coming in and gigabit ethernet switches to feed the jacks being used.  Most everything I have is wifi but I use my imac to stream to ipads/iphones/apple tv's and also have it configured to backup wirelessly to an external harddrive plugged into an airport extreme.
I would like to keep everything mostly as it is but to hard wire the imac.  It is in the one room in the home without good wifi coverage so backups through time machine and streaming are frequently dropped or delayed.  I could add an additional Airport Express but that seems like a half solution with an ethernet cable right there.
My questions are 1)  is there a controller or something to plug in that would feed the signals from the imac to the apple tv in another room through the ethernet cables 2) would this same setup allow the time capsule backups to occur through ethernet instead of wifi for this computer 3) if this isn't possible or is difficult should I be able to plug ethernet into the imac so it at least benefits from faster download speeds and have it still operate the same over wifi for everything else?
Thanks for any help or pointing me to other threads if this has been addressed somewhere I haven't found!
Not sure if it matters but we have Apple TV, Imac, mac book, Airport Extreme and 1 Express and assorted ipads and iphones on the network.

Matt is correct. Connecting to the Ethernet will work as he described. I might also suggest that you consider connecting other devices to the hard wired Ethernet as well. Gigabit Ethernet is faster than Wi-Fi in most instances. I have my Apple TV connected to my Ethernet along with as many other devices as I can. Only my iPad, iPhones and laptops connect through Wi-Fi. My desktop computers, DirecTV receivers, Blue Ray player and sound system are all connected to the Ethernet In my home.

  • HT1320 Ipod 4th gen was accidentally disconnected from laptop during update process. Now permanent screen pic is of power cord w/ an arrow pointing up to itunes. Holding the ctr & power buttons together has no effect for reset.

Ipod touch 4th gen was accidentally disconnected from laptop during update process. Now permanent screen pic is of the power cord w/ an arrow pointing up to itunes symbol. Holding the ctr & power buttons together for 6-10 sec causes apple pic to briefly appear and power cord/itunes pic reappears. Powering off and on has same effect. Attempting to reset.

It sounds like the iPod touch is in Recovery Mode, Try to restore it from iTunes again.
If you run into an error when restoring the iPhone again, take a look at this Apple doc -> iOS: Resolving update and restore alert messages
