HT1459 can I disconnect wifi access on my daughter's ipod touch?
Is ther a way to disconnect wifi from my daughter's ipod touch. I don't want her to have access without my monitoring
Password protect your WiFi connection (really should be anyway). She will need to know the password to log in.

When I play music and lock the iPod touch, the wifi stays on which drains more battery than is needed. I don't want to turn off wifi in Settings since I like the flexibility to unlock the iPod and quickly check email, browse the web while listing to music (without going into settings, turn it on, browse, go back to settings and turn it off). Once I lock the iPod while playing music, I'd like the wifi to turn off. I know it will stay on while streaming that is expected, but why is the wifi staying on when playing music of the iPod?? henry is correct. you can't do that.
however, for what it's worth, i have found that wifi connection is similar to mobile phone network connection. i.e. if a phone is searching for a network, it takes up huge amounts of battery, but if it is constantly connected, it doesn't. so it is the 'search' procedure which drains the battery. similarly with my iPod touch. if it is connected to my home wifi network, but i am not using the wifi connection, the battery will not drain significantly. it's when i'm away from home and forget to switch it off that the battery drains. or when i am using it constantly (like listening to a 3.5 hr radio show using safari) -
I have a new Iphone 5, my wife has a 4S and an iPod Touch. When I sync my new 5 to the Mac, it pick up ALL of the stupid game apps that my wife uses on her two devices. How can I keep them separate?
go to itunes preferences, store, uncheck automatic downloads. also when your phone is connected you can click on apps and only check the ones you want on your phone, go down to the bottom right and click apply.

I have imac mac os 10.6.7, I can't access to internet with my ipod touch using my imac airport...what's wrong? my ipod tells me is connected and airport is active...so? what should I do?right, figured it out. had to put it in disk mode, then reconnect, then it was recognized, then i restored and put everything back onto it. hope this helps anyone else who has a similar problem

As the title says, this is a brand new iPod touch bought from a store, I plugged it in a commenced the "setting up" process through iTunes on may iMac. It got to the stage where it said allow this computer to access the device (or something along those lines), i clicked yes, and then a message came up "to allow access, please respond on your iPod touch. however the ipod screen is black, and pressing the buttons doesn't work. How can i fix this? or do I need to return it?

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer

Daughter's iPod Touch receiving texts sent between my wife and I
My daughter's iPod Touch is receiving texts sent between my wife and I. I understand that I can manually disable this on the iPod Touch, but she could feasibly re-enable this and spy on us. Is this correct? If so, this is a huge problem for everything from discussing surprise birthday plans, Christmas presents, to sending "intimate" messages to one another.
How do I handle this centrally and permanently prevent her from seeing messages that my wife and I send back and forth?Your daughter needs her own Apple ID for iMessage, FaceTime & iCloud.
The Apple ID needs to be a verified email address. Once you have an email address, that can be verified, go here & create the ID:

Then on her phone, turn off Contacts, Calendars, etc. for iCloud. You'll be prompted to keep the data or delete it from the phone, then turn off iMessage, FaceTime & delete the iCloud account...Settings>iCloud...scroll down...delete account. Then, setup iCloud using the new Apple ID, turn on iMessage & Facetime.
This will have no affect on the ID you both share for iTunes content, & you can continue to do so. -
Recently Apple have blocked my account for no particular reason so i had made another account because I couldn't access it i backed my ipod touch 4g to my new account and transferred my games and found out i couldnt update them because i dont own the full version of this game can anyone help please get back to me !
- Apps are locked to the account that purchased them.
- To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account.
You need to reactivate your first account.

I can not dowload the new updated software for my Ipod touch 4G. When i do I get an error message that says Network connection has timed out. I have done the trouble shooting steps. Downloaded the latest version of Itunes, and checked network connection
