I just uploaded my iTunes library to the cloud using iTunes Match. When I buy a new song from iTunes, is it automatically sent to the Cloud or do I have to click on iTunes Match? I certainly don't want to start the whole upload process over again. Thanks
It should do so automatically, if not check it's staus this way.
In iTunes press "Command J" or select "View Options," under the view menu. In the popup window check iCloud Status. It will now appear as one of the columns in your main iTunes window.
This column will show which of your songs are matched, uploaded, ineligible, etc.
When you navigate to the song you downloaded you will see it's iCloud status.
If the status says, "waiting," and you want it available on Match now, then in the iTunes "Store," menubar pulldown, select "Update iTunes Match."
It will scan your drive, and update all status'.
You will not have to upload everything again.
Even if in iTunes you turn Match off, and back on again.

i have an iPhone 3G and have had it for a little while now. I used to have a pc and uploaded songs from my pc to my iPhone. Now i changed from that PC to a laptop and just downloaded a new iTunes because i want to add some new songs. iTunes asks to synchronise my iPhone, which means (as far as i know) delete all the songs already on the iPhone and put the ones on the iPhone which you have in iTunes. I do want to keep the songs i already have on my iPhone but i also want new songs!! Any ideas of how i can put new songs from my laptop to my iPhone without synchronising????????!!!
help would be appreciated since it's kind of starting to annoy me now..
thanks alreadyI have the same problem. I purchased a new computer apple gives u this thing where it can authorize the computer but wont allow you to use the music from your itunes #1 to put on itunes#2. I contacted apple support and was informed that it could be done yet he couldnt tell me b/c it wasnt supported by apple. He said it was via some third party company that it could be done and told me to come to this forum in hopes someone posted it. He also told me to try and google the answer and one final and last resort was to export the music from itunes #1 and place on a disk and upload that music to itune#2. Oh well not gonna work for me for my hard drive to itunes#1 is 300 miles away.
It's kinda strange that there was a situation where we could have put all this music on itunes#1 with the same phone not be able to be loaded onto a nother comupter what a waste!!! -
Have uploaded new Itunes software on to my new laptop. When connecting my Iphone 4GS there is no button to add music. It seems to work when I connect my Ipod.
Any ideas? Assume there must be something I need to do to my phone. Thanks for the help. The problem just started suddenly. The problem I have is the closest Apple Store is 3 hours away so I would have to send it in and I don't want to send it to them and then be told I'd have to pay for it. Would they just send the phone back if you decide not to have it fixed. I will probably just get used to it or maybe it will fix itself one day.

I have automatic upload etc. activated in Photo Stream. I just uploaded new photos from my camera to my MacBook Pro, but nothing is sowing up on my iPhones my iMacs iPad or on Apple TV. Does anyone have. Any suggestions as to what I can. Do? I am currently on permahold with. apple Help.
THANKS!My eyes just glazed over...Please in the future break down each of your issues with paragraphs separated by two carriage returns. It would be much easier when trying to address your issues.
Go to Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Keyboard and Mouse -> Mouse
And edit your mouse settings to do what you want it to do.
Secondly, this is not the place to vent. If you have a complaint, there is:
http://www.apple.com/feedback/
or http://www.apple.com/contact/
We are just end users here helping other end users.
Third, from my understanding, it would appear you are concerned about the noise the hard drive makes when it falls asleep? Why not put your machine in screen saver mode instead? Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Energy Saver turn off all Energy Saver settings, or set them to run Never.
Fourth, if your machine was purchased just a few days ago, you may still be able to get an exchange from the store, quicker than you can get a repair done. You may want to look into that possibility.
Fifth, it does appear you found the Logic forum. I would persist in asking there how to solve your technical issue with Logic regarding the audio. It may be you don't have to do anything special to the hard drive. Remember audio can be transmitted by wire, avoiding ambient sounds.
Good luck! -
my ipod classic 170gig disconnects when i open itunes? any ideas? It only happened since i uploaded new itunes version?
The point is that there are four i product users for one computer in my house, and not everyone wants the same music on their device. Like I said before, the ipod is not syncing to the new library even though I plug it in when the new itunes library is pulled up. It keeps syncing to the old library...

You did a d/l of the iTunes .dmg - did you install by opening the .dmg and following the dialogs?

The new Itunes doesn't want to install on my pc. What can I do?
It happening to me too. Not only is it prompting "Service Apple Mobile Device failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services", now everytime I restart my computer, it prompted something about runtime error. Tried starting up itunes also prompted the same runtime error. I have to uninstall all the component following the instruction from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 in order to get rid of the runtime error.

I uploded the new itunes software and now my ipod touch is not getting reconized in my itunes. I went through all the trouble shooting support from apple. But I do have a avast antivirus on my computer i wonder if that is what is holding it up
Could be since it (security software) is listed as #5 in the following:
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows -
after I download Itunes, when trying to sync Ipod, message says "needs newer version of mobile support, uninstall Itunes, and reinstall Itunes, and the same process starts all over again. why is that?
Try removing and then reinstalling the Apple software using these instructions.
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
The above containes a link for XP. Also. make sure you install the correct Apple software, It comes in 32 and 64 bit and you need the one that is the same as the computer OS -
HT1386 In the new iTunes where is the sync options? I used to see an icon.
In the new iTunes where is the sync options? I used to see an icon on the left side while the sync was happeneing, then click on it to make changes.
If you have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar and Control+B to show the Menu bar
To sync to your iPod go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Sync your iPod....>Sync You Device>Set up Syncing and follow the instructions. -
I am having trouble synching all 1700 songs that I just put into iTunes Music Match onto my iPod Classic device. It worked on my iTouch and iPad devices but not the Classic. How do I transfer the music successfully
It should sync the same if the songs are the same. You can try:
- Unsyncing all music and resysncing
- Restoring the iPod
BTW, yo posted in the iPod touch forum -
Just bought new Mac pro when I sync my iPhone 4 i lost all my contacts on the phone .tried restoring from backup no luck .is there any way I can retrieve my contacts
Why don't you just restore the to your pc from your most recent backup? You'll get the warning about erasing the media on the phone, but since you'll have all of your media and apps restored from backup, you shouldn't have much of a problem.

Hi all,
I have recently bought a new laptop.
My old desktop PC has been used to sync and back-up my iPhone4.
However, when I installed itunes on the new laptop and tried to sync the iphone I got the message
"iPhone can only be synced with one iTunes library"
How can designate my new laptop as the one wheer I can sync and back-up my iPhone?
Old PC: Windows XP
New PC: Windows 7
Can somebody please send me step by step guide as im a novice with PC/iTunes
Hope somebody can help.
Thanks in advance.
Bhav PIt will clear the phone. You need to restore the backup you made of your important files from the old computer (surely no one in the third millennium who uses a computer does not back it up regularly).
You can recover iTunes-purchased music, videos and apps from the phone, but not music from other sources. Connect the phone, do not sync, and choose "Transfer Purchases" from the File menu.
Photos in the Camera Roll can be transferred buy using the Camera Wizard on your computer.
Contacts and Calendar can be synced with apps on your computer; just make sure there is at least one entry in each app on the computer before syncing.
You are out of luck if you have photos in the Photo app on the phone; there are apps for your computer that can extract them, but they will be lower resolution than originals because they have been optimized for the iPhone's resolution. -
