If I lost an I pod Touch over the last week or so what are my options now? Can I have someone find in with some internal GPS I have read about before?

Connect the iOS device to your computer and restore via iTunes. Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode if necessary to allow the restore.
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

    To restore from backup see:

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

Looks like you restored your backup file to her phone. If you didn't back up your wife's phone first, then the data is gone, sorry.

If you do a full system restore it will reset everything. But first do a complete backup. once restored, move your apps/music/videos into itunes and sync.

  • I don't have the find my iphone app and i lost my ipod touch what do i do

I don't have the find my iphone app and i lost my ipod touch somwhere in my house. is there any way to get it back like call apple or something?

If the device has been connected to your computer and a backup was saved, open the itunes program and click edit>preferences>devices
This will show the date and time of the last backup you created, hover the cursor over the backup and it will show your serial number.
If you have the original box you can find it on the back also.

No app on the iPod is required.
    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected, on a computer browser go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up or conbtinue to show off-line.
    - You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
    iCloud: Erase your device
    iCloud: Use Lost Mode
    - If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
    - There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it unless you had iOS 7 on the device. With iOS 7, one has to enter the Apple ID and password to restore the device.

  • Lost itunes library..what to do now?

Ok I am very confused! I have an ipod mini, and have my itunes library on my computer. Well something is wrong w/ my computer. Now my question is. Can I login into itunes from another computer or something to still get music and stuff? Or do I have to wait until I get my computer working again and find my itunes on there.
Or if I can't get my old itunes library back, what should i do from here? I have ALL of my songs that were in my library on my IPOD, so I dont know what my best bet is. I do not want to loose my songs on my ipod because i paid for alot of them. Please help guide me!

I am experiencing the same problem. My computer crashed and ALL of my songs (over 500!) were deleted and are irretrievable. They are still on my iPod and I know that there is some way to transfer the songs from your iPod to your computer by converting it to a hard disk but I have no idea how to go about doing that. Anyone know?

  • I recently bought the i pod touch 4 and noticed that not all of my songs transferred over-The songs that didn't, say original file cannot be found. What should I do?

I recently bought the i pod touch 4 and noticed that not all of my songs transferred over from my i tunes library-The songs that didn't, say original file cannot be found, when clicked. What should I do? I tried using the tips on this site, but they weren't too helpful...I downloaded the songs from cd's and purchased them from i tunes.
Any help would be much appreciated! Thank you!

I doubt that your music files are gone. Do a spotlight search and look for The Cure. What likely happened is that for whatever reason, your iTunes lost track of the location of your songs.. which happens on occasion.
What you need to do is go to the folder where your music library is - where the song files are - and check to see if they are there. If so, then go into your iTunes preferences and in the 'Advanced' pane put in the location of the folder where it says 'iTunes Media folder location'. iTunes should then be able to 'see' the songs again.

  • What to do when I lost my iPod touch?

What do I do when my daughter lost her iPod touch?

If ou turned on Settings > iCloud > Find My before it was lost, login to our iCloud account, click Find My Phone and see if it shows up.
To show Find My must have been turned on, it must be powered p, and it must be connected to the Internet.  Without all of those you will not be able to find it.

  • I bought my I pod touch 3-4 months ago and I got this message all of a sudden, it said something along the lines of provisonal complete_Distrib... will expire in 30 days. What is this it's under setting-general-Profile should I be worried?

I bought my I pod touch 3-4 months ago and I got this message all of a sudden, it said something along the lines of provisonal complete_Distrib... will expire in 30 days. What is this it's under setting-general-Profile should I be worried? Should I just let it expire.

Unless you have a company or school iPod, that profile was installed by an app you installed. It is likely that the app will no longer function when that date is reached. You can Google the name of the profile and that may provide some more information.

  • What is the cost of replacing the screen on an i-pod touch

Need to replace a brken screen on an i-pod touch and had bad experience with a non-apple repair on an i-phone so what sort of cost can I expect if asking apple to do the repair?

Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished for this price:
Apple - Support - iPod - Repair pricing
A third-party place like the following may be less expensive. Google for more places.

  • I have lost my I Pod.  What do I do?  Did not have passcode and did notr activate find option.

I have lost my I Pod Touch.
It has no pass code nor did I activate the "find ipod" option.
My major concern is that ability of those who might find it to access my facebook and mail.
If I simply change password on these two sites will that stop someone from accessing my mail and facebook?
I did not have to use a password to access either of these when I accessed through my I Pad.
    Thanks for the advice.

Changing the passwords will block the finder from further access to the email, but anything already stored on the evice can be viewed.  The goal at this point is to minimize damage by changing the passwords on all accounts so nothing can be done beyond this point.
Maybe you will be lucky and an honest person will find it and look at who owns it from the info on-board and return it to you.  There are users on here regularly asking how to find out the owner so the device can be returned.
But protect yourself and change all passwords associated with all accounts on the device.
