I love Apple Macs I think they are the best, but I want to play games like skyrim. I want to use boot camp will I just be able to switch in and out like a normal program or will I have to restart?
If you install Windows using Boot Camp you will need to reboot into the operating system you want to use.

I found out the hard way that you have to be on a computer to change your payment preference to PayPal. Period. The option for PayPal does not even show up on an iPad. Apparently ITunes support does not know this or they would let everyone know. Go on your computer. Open account. Type in your password. Then click on edit payment type. Only on a computer do you have an option of choosing PayPal. I really hope this helps someone :)
JudiThank you! I put some self help hypnosis tracks to listen to on my iPod. I did not want to go to the next track automatically, I wanted to listen to them individually, one at a time. (If I fell asleep, I did not want to 'wake up' in the middle of a different track.) Your information helps me understand that I need to re-load this playlist onto my iPod from my Mac computer, only first, I need to UNCHECK the boxes in front of each track so the iPod will STOP each time after playing the selected track. It is too bad that so many functions are not availabvle within the iPod, but that is probably why they can make it so compact.

Office for Mac, http://www.microsoft.com/mac/products, can open/edit/create Office documents.If your external drive is formatted NTFS then you can copy the Office documents to your computer and work on them. You won't be able to save the files back to your NTFS formatted drive. But you will be able to save the documents to your internal drive. You can move all the external files to your internal drive then format the external drive for Apple. Then you can copy the files back to your external drive for ongoing use.

Any computer is compatible as long as it can read and write Office files. But for perfect (or at least near perfect) compatibility, you would want to purchase Office 2011 for Mac.

You can't directly transport any installation of Windows. All PC's come with a machine specific version of Windows intended for that PC. They don't have all of the hardware drivers the retail disks cover.
If you want Windows on your Mac, you would first purchase a full version copy (NOT an upgrade disk) of Windows 7 or 8. Those are the only supported versions on newer Macs. You install it through the supplied Boot Camp utility that comes with the Mac to create a new partition for Windows, and then install the retail copy of Windows you purchased.
The reason only these versions of Windows are supported is the same basic reason as a machine specific version of Windows for a PC. Apple only includes the necessary Mac hardware drivers for Win 7 or 8 on new Macs.
Once Windows is installed, you could then install the version of Office for Windows you already own. The nuisance of a Boot Camp partition is that you have to physically boot to either Windows or OS X, so you can only use the apps of the OS you're in at the time. To use both at once, you'd have to use virtual machine software (Parallels, VMware, VirtualBox) and then install Windows within that. Then you'd be able to run Windows inside of OS X and have access to both at the same time. -

no, that's not necessary. you can do a full system restore from TM. boot from your Snow leopard (or leopard) install DVD and select "restore system from backup" from the utilities menu. this will wipe the hard drive and restore your system from the TM backup. However, TM is pretty buggy and this procedure is known to fail sometimes. therefore a bootable clone is a better backup in this situation as the other poster suggests. you can make one using superduper or cccloner. boot from the clone to make sure it works. THEN you can safely upgrade. -

I'd be VERY surprised if your machine was not shipping with Lion installed. However even if it doesn't when you initally install Lion it will launch into Setup Assistant, if you follow the prompts it will ask if you are migrating from another machine. You can use Pondini's Lion Setup Assistant tips for help, look for the section(s) on MS Windows migration. Also I would strongly recommend bookmarking and studying the following sites:

Will I be able to use my Netgear N 3300router and 111accesspoints wireless units with fios service?
I am having my Fios bundle (tv,internet, phone) installed next week. In reading some posts here I am concerned. Currently I am using Comcast internet router plugged into my main wireless N Netgear model 3300 router that is plugged into my PC. I then have a model 111 Netgear wireless N gaming accesspoint plugged into my main router at PC. It is recieveing wireless N signals from 2 other model 111 gaming Netgear units in my lower home. Plugged into those is my xbox, Ps3, replay tv ect. The signal is much better and I transmit HD video from my PC to tvs with this wireless N stuff.
I have read you must use FiOS supplied amtech router with fios. Its only wireless g and I dont want that. my following is the questions.
1. Can I not use the Amtech and just use my stuff?
or
2. Can I turn of Amtech wireless and plug my Netgear 3300 into the Amtech to use my stuff on wireless N to AMtech and then PC for full pipe.
or
3. Could I just use my wireless N gaming access points and plug the upstairs access point into the amtech and not use my Netgear 3300 router and still get my N by way of my access points?
Netgear uses the same IP range 192.168.1.1
This is very important for my install. Will the installer be any help with this dilema?

Go to Solution.You will still be able to use your Wireless N Equipment with the Verizon Provided Router. You will also be able to turn off teh wireless G in the Verizon Router.

It may be best to allow the installer to set up FIOS without your Equipment in the equation and then reconfigure everything after he is done. If you plan on using your Netgear as the Primary Router make sure that you have pre-run a CAT5 cable from where the ONT will be mounted to the Netgear Location and ask him to use it for your Data Connection (Will make switching later much easier).

It does work, but only some of the time - it seems to need a kick in the *** though. Sometimes it links to the TV right away, some times it takes some switching between apps or videos in the camera roll, and now for some reason, it takes plugging my wife's phone in first and then swapping phones once her's is recognized and TV output connection made before mine will output signal to the TV.
And it seems to do video only with some apps and audio only with others, and then nothing with yet others. I guess I just expected it to work, given that we both have freshly updated iphones (4.3), good cables and 2 HD TV's to test with... -

Your only bet would be checking with your carrier to see if they have a trade-in program. They will usually evaluate the phone for any damage and therefore an iPhone with a chip in the back most likely won't get much of a trade-in value.

I've been eligible for an upgrade since July 2011 but I've been waiting to see what Verizon has that really makes me want to change from my Droid X. But so far, that's been nothing. I would like to know, however, when I do decide to upgrade will I be able to keep my unlimited data plan? If so, how?
Talking from personal experience, yes and no. Verizon will allow you to retain your unlimited data plan on some devices, but not others. I went from a Droid X to a Rezound. Before I did the switch, I noticed where they said that the Rezound did not support my plan. I know, it's stupid, but that's the way it went. So I called customer service and they told me that I could keep my unlimited data. However, when I got their receipt notification, I noticed that I was on the 2GB plan for $30. I have a family plan, and made my Droid X the second phone. This retained the unlimited plan. So, I have a Rezound with 2GB and a Droid X with unlimited GB. By the way, I should mention that I swapped out the Rezound, which I did not like, to the LG Spectrum but retained the 2GB data plan and did not go back to unlimited.

I forgot to back-up my information (pictures, excel documents) on MAC before installing boot camp and Windows. I am mid-way through the process, at the point where I need to install the drivers. Will i be able to retrieve my documents on MAC and finalizing the Windows 7 installation (for the 1st time) or not?

If you already booted into Windows and are at the point of installing the Boot Camp Drivers your already done installing Windows! Yea! All you need to do is just install the drivers and everything should work normal.
The Windows partition and the Mac partition are seen as two different HD's now as far as the computer knows.
You can use the Boot Camp control panel in Windows to boot into the Mac side and the Startup Disk in System Preferences on the Mac to switch to Windows. If you can't then press and hold down the Option key untill you get the boot screen.
