HT1473 how do i group songs from one album
Sometimes when dowloading a cd to Itunes instead of showing up as one album with all the songs it places the songs that have the artist featuring in another album by itself. how do i tell itunes these are all apart of the same album?

How do you group together multiple songs all from one album? iTunes imports these as multiple albums all with the same name. It's driving me nuts, why oh why is iTunes nowhere near as good as Windows Media Player?
If you look at the getinfo page for these tracks. Is there an entry in the Album Artist Field - NOT the ARtist Field. You can put any value you like in here
eg Various Artist, Artist A and Friends whatever and then if this is the same accross all tracks they should display as one album.
iTunes 11 seems to have a far more rigorous interpretation of tags compared with iTunes 10 where you did not have to bother with Album Artist. -

OK, so I
iTunes works better than Windows media player for my set up with Windows 7 Ultimate .... BUT it 'took over' the Media Player library and put some tracks as separate entries - so, for example, I have one album of Rod Stewart in 6 different places, with tracks from the same album. I have tried everything I can think of, even deleting the whole album and starting again - frustratingly, same result. Go to the itunes folder and copy all of the songs on to an external hard drive. Then copy them from the hard drive to the other computer
You could also use home sharing which will send the songs over your wireless. -

I have a new imac. I created two libraries, one for me, one for my kids. how do I copy songs from one library to the other library?
Not easy unless you're just content with adding some files to the other as new files but lose playlists for those files, and playcount, and ratings, etc. If you're okay with that, you can drag the media folder from one library to the other. If you use default settings and want to duplicate the media, just drag it. If you want to add the media but leave it where it is currently located, hold down the option key while dragging to the library window.

Each device is specifically paired with a laptop or Apple stand alone computer.
But try to synch both devices separately with the same music library in Apple music media folder??
